Well, I'm not one of the ones pushing the suck for Luck thing, I still hope we win every week, but the last quote from the reporter has some merit also.

Yeah I heard the interview at work. I don't blame Fasano or the players and I applaud him for being honest about SFL and the Tebow disaster.

But Florio is right. I'm not rooting for the Dolphins to lose every Sunday. I will NEVER be that kind of fan, and I will cheer for every play and win like I always have and always will, but knowing that every loss gets us closer to a franchise QB and a new head coach makes the losing easier to handle. The players don't have to like it or listen to it, but we need hope for the future.

To me, there's a huge misconception regarding what Suck For Luck actually is. The players don't have to deliberately lose games. Not giving 100% is a precurser to injury. This Dolphins team is doing an excellent job of losing all by themselves. Why try harder?

Its called being realistic. I'm not going to bash Fasano for this team not being better because TE just isn't that much of a high impact position. And I respect that he wants to win. But if his teammates and coaches were better this wouldn't be an issue. Since they aren't, we are looking for answers elsewhere.

Fasano was a complete tool to me when I met him in New Jersey. I quit giving a **** about him two years ago. And other posters are correct, we aren't asking them to throw games. Just keep trying as hard as you have been and that should work just fine for us to get Luck.

I understand both sides of the coin. No current player wants fans in the stadiums cheering for the other team. Some of those players are working hard, doing the best they can to win a football game for this year's team.

And any other year but this, I would agree with Fasano.

But after 12 years of this franchise ignoring the most important position on the football field, I've completely had it. Most of us on the Suck for Luck bandwagon bleed aqua and orange like any other Dolphins fan. We just know that winning games today hurts our future. We have a terrible coach, a terrible GM, and a stable of terrible QBs. It takes the type of disaster we are seeing today to bring about the change we need.

I felt despicable cheering against Miami last Sunday. But it was coming from the heart, if that makes any sense. In my mind, I want them to lose for all the right reasons.

Don't really blame him.. I'm fine with suck for Luck but put yourself in Fasano's shoes. Why would he want fans to be rooting against the team? He's playing for his job, not a new QB.

God forbid a true Dolphins fan doesn't care about the difference between 1-15 and 4-12 after all the misery this team has given us the last 7 years (except Pennington's year, thank you Chad) and wants the one player who can make us legit again.

What Fasano needs to figure out is that if he and the rest of the players were doing their jobs, the fans wouldn't be clamoring in the SFL campaign.

So, Tony, you don't want us to join the SFL campaign, do your job...

We might not have to worry about Fasano too much longer before he is replaced by Dwayne Allen.

That said, he has been one of the more productive targets, that is when he is not having to do Colombo's job.

Well...I'm been told that Brandon Marshall asked permission on Facebook to join the "Suck For Luck" Facebook group. Take that FWIW. I'm told that in order to join the group you have to ask permission and that Marshall recently did just that.

I'll never actively root against this team, bottom line.

HOWEVER... I think Fasano needs a reality check. They're already Sucking, whether it's for Luck or not this team has just been garbage for the first 6 games this year. And barring some mid-season turnaround, they'll be garbage for the remaining 10.

Again, I'd never actively root against this team though. Personally, I'm at the point of apathy. I could care less what happens this season, because I do enjoy watching them win games, but I also think winning meaningless games, for a crew that is likely going to be broken up heavily next year is irrelevant. I could care less about their egos and their sportsmanship. If they don't want fans to hope for Suck for Luck, then they shouldn't have provided them with so much Suck to get them hyped up like that.

The fans are currently doing their jobs better than the players. In three home games, there have been three sellouts. Sure, sponsors had to buy tickets against the Texans and Broncos to get to that sellout but that's pretty common especially in this economy, and the fans bought enough tickets to make that possible.

What have the players done? 0-6. If the fans were as bad at being fans as the players are at being players, then the Dolphins games would have only half-attendance in all three games and Steve Ross would be losing a fortune.

Unfortunately, I think Allen will move into the first by draft time. I think that TE is another one of those positions that's becoming a core position and that TEs with his level of athleticism will be snatched up early.

And that right there is all about perspective isnt it.

Are they rooting FOR their team in the LONG RUN? (they arent short term bandwagoners - they are long term interest fans)

Are they rooting for their current condition and still hoping it leads to #1 overall pick? (if thats what the performance equates to. Frankly, I expect the players to try and play hard and work to secure a WIN; right now, that's an honest long shot to occur, thus we are working our way to #1 pick)

Is either type rooting against the franchise???

I don't know that I see Dwayne Allen getting into the 1st round. The NFL doesn't really like the micro look when it comes to tight ends...or at least they don't value it highly. Aaron Hernandez went in the 4th round, after all. Dwayne Allen is listed at 6'4" and 255 lbs but that's a laugh. I'd be surprised if he's significantly over 6'3" and I would be less surprised if he were under that. He plays like a small guy, like an H-Back. He's explosive for sure, strong and fast, has good hands. But unless he runs like in the 4.4's or something, I don't think he's going to dominate with size and so the NFL probably won't be interested in him in the 1st round.

I don't know. He's very comparable to Fred Davis, who is playing well in Washington. I think you maybe right though, if he measures under 6'4, he is probably going to slip a little.

Got it...so fasano's definition of a true fan is one that is as delusional as he is. A true fan can see when his team is awful and when changes need to be made. We should all wear blinders like he is. I don't think any of us want them the phins to ever lose a game but when you're as dysfunctional as this group sometimes you have to get worse to get better.

there is such a misconception its not even funny, it has showed me just how stupid and not intuitive some of these former jock reporters are..for example, I was about to lose it the other day listening to Jaworski talk about SFL, he was sitting there acting like he was so upset with the notion of fans thinking that NFL players would actually be losing on purpose.........read that again, cause that was the cause of his anger, he thinks that SFL is about the players losing games on purpose, it has nothing to do with that....what..a ..flippin..idiot..These idiots do not understand the mentality of the fan, we know the team is not doing anything this year, and our whole staff and front office is lame duck for real..There is a way to change the dynamic and course of this franchise and that is to land a QB with the perdigree, talent, and leadership of a prospect like this and a coach to match.

I'am only against the ''promotion'' of the SFL luck stuff, I believe it creates a very bad perception and confusion, mainly because of what I just talked about, the intent gets misconstrued in the media, I'am not against fans who have given up on a team that doesn't seem to want to unite on their own..

It was unreal to me that Gronkowski was not drafted in the first, not only was his talent unquestioned, his size prototype, but if they did any diggin they would of known that his back was completely healthy..My big twelve contact hooked me up with that, and if I could get it, other coaches should of...damn I wanted that mother grabber..anyways, I think Dwayne is the first tightend off the board and will go in the first.

if he goes in the 2nd, he will be a steal imo..The guy is a very talented football player, very savvy, Iam pretty sure after a couple of years his value will be that of a first round pick.

Would that be Fred Davis the 2nd round pick? :)

I liked Fred Davis a lot in that Draft, for the record. Loved his run after catch ability. That's a good comparison for Dwayne Allen though I'm not sure he has the same run after catch ability.

You gotta understand, Rob Gronkowski had some serious back problems in his medical file, and I wouldn't exactly call him 'out of the woods' on that front yet, because they can always return. CURRENTLY healthy is not the same as no longer being 'at risk'. A guy that tall playing a grinding position and a history of serious back issues, some consider it only a matter of time.

He also hadn't played football in like a year and a half or something like that.

Yea and its the reason I tend to agree with Allen going in the 2nd. Fred Davis had 1st round talent without a doubt IMO. Had he not been 6'2 and some change, he would of been there. I suspect the same will happen to Allen.

There's a reason size is rewarded though. True "seam busters" the way everyone thinks about them are usually tall. Aaron Hernandez isn't but he's just a straight up David Givens-like wide receiver. I don't even really consider him a tight end.
