This team will end up beating the Jets in the last game of the season while "winning one for Tony". That lone win will secure the #2 pick and give Indy Andrew Luck on a silver platter.
1 team ever in history has gone 0-16, 2 teams EVER IN THIS LONG HISTORY have not won a game all season. I doubt we see 2 teams go 0-16, or come close.
I think the Jets would lay down, if they have the playoff spot locked up, to make sure we get screwed out of the #1 pick. Brilliant plan....have us screw ourselves.
If indeed, we need a loss to the jets to secure Andrew Luck and go 1-15 or 0-16 or even 2-14, do you really think, in a meaningless game, Brandon Marshall won't buy into Suck for Luck? The only universal truth in Suck 4 Luck has been that the players will play hard no matter what. However, if it comes down to one game, and it is crystal clear that if we lose it, we get Andrew Luck, I am not so sure the guys with long-term contracts will play at 100%. They quit in Week 17 last year, why on earth would they play hard this year?
Are you saying that is the reason Marshall has almost 60 dropped passes since 2007? Is that the reason he only has only 4 TD receptions since he has been here? That HAS to be the reason he ran out of bounds vs the Jets. He has been Sucking for Luck since he got here!
Well, maybe about the Jets part. But seriously...this team will find a way to F it up, just like they F up everything else.
The Jets will probably be looking to earn a playoff berth in Week 17. The Patriots will probably have the division already zipped up, so the Jets will be in a wildcard race and will need that Week 17 win too much to screw it up on purpose. The Dolphins could very well 'screw up' getting the #1 pick but right now their skill at 'screwing up' is what is losing them games because no player in that locker room wants to lose games. Their ineptitude is working in our favor right now. Go with it. We'll see what happens. If we're not in position to take Andrew Luck, so be it. Not the end of the world. Matt Barkley, Landry Jones and Brandon Weeden are pretty darn good looking door prizes. And there's a significant chance that the team picking #1 will put the pick up for sale, so we could always re-claim him that way.
Hey CKP do you think Miami can trade down and get a bunch of draft picks and pick up a tightend and another qb and two olinemen ? I am going to say it but we should trade down and get a great deal with more draft picks and still get a great qb.
No way, I think this team is done. Remember how CK has been talking about the meltdown game similar to week 17 last year? Well I think that game is next week. Did you see the players reactions and faces after that field goal last week? I think any little fight they had was wiped out after that kick. Sent from my DROIDX using Tapatalk
And I repeat what I said before: Suck for luck is a LOSERS mentality. Anyone on this bandwagon has never played sports or never really gave a ****. I would love to have Luck (the best prospect - or potentially better) than Manning. But I'm not willing to ever say give up on our team. Just can't bring myself to do that. Looking for wins from here on out...
Yeah, because those so-called fans would clearly still be posting on a message board dedicated to one of the two worst teams in the league (who hasn't been consistently relevant in more than a decade) if they didn't really 'give a ****'. This is nonsense.
I want what is best for this team, long term. Winning anything at this point this season means absolutely nothing. Burn it down, start from scratch and boot all the underachievers wearing the uniform.
You are confusing losing to win with giving up. What does it take to win in this league? Ask Indy. Ask NE before they had Brady. Ask the Saints. Ask GB. It takes a franchise QB. Sure, you can be a TB and luck up every blue moon to win one with a Dilfer. Odds of that happening? Slim and none. Sure, we didn't win a ring with Marino. But you know what....Marino gave us a fighters chance. You have to have a franchise QB. Players like Luck don't come around often. If that means putting yourself in position to draft him, them by all means do so. As a GM you want to get the players that make your team better. Sometimes you have to lose so you can win. Nobody is giving up. Nobody is saying they are less of a fan because they want us to Suck for Luck. It is the exact opposite We want to Suck for Luck so we can win. It isn't about this year, it is about the future. How many different starting QB's have we had since Marino? 16? Could very well be 17 by the end of the season if Moore gets hurt. No team has had more QB's start over that time than us. So why wouldn't you try your hardest to get the biggest hole filled on your team with the best player you could possibly get? Again...this isn't losers mentality. This is winners mentality. It is a chess game and I want to put the king in checkmate. I want Luck. We need our franchise QB and he is the one we need to go after. Point blank. It isn't losing in the end if you actually win.
If we go 1-15, ill be gleeful and let the cards fall where they may. If that 1 kncks the Jests out of the plsyoffs? I may have a stiffie until the draft.
I don't think we should suck for Luck because I could never hope or root for another team to beat the Dolphins. If it were to happen by some chance I think it would be a great opportunity to get the best prospect to come out in a long, long time but I could still not root again'st my team. We have two Miami Dolphin Quarterbacks in the Hall of Fame and they were both first round draft choices, so maybe its time for us to repeat what gave us so much success before and take a Quarterback in the first round whether it be Luck or one of the other good prospects coming out. I have a bad feeling that fate will not allow us to get Luck no matter what, theres just been too many disappointments surrounding Dolphins history to trust in "Luck". But if we don't get a shot at Luck lets don't trade down for more picks or do anything stupid to not enable us to get a top prospect in this good year for quarterbacks. But if we get a chance to trade up for Luck, no matter what the cost, I hope we do it.
AMEN.... The insistence that we need to go 0-16 to secure the top pick is absurd at this point. Games in the NFL can turn on so many variables. Teams which should not have a chance in hell against top teams sometimes do.... See Jacksonville beating the Ravens on Monday night. I don't think the team with the #1 pick will be winless. Hopefully no one ends up winless including us. I wouldn't wish that on anyone but NY.
