I didn't want this to get lost because it is going national now..I'll let you know what is said, but I just heard the teaser, and Jackie Mccmullin I hear in the backround say, ''Ross is doing it again''... I'am not sure if this coming out is good or bad, lets see..
ahhh, no real news , or negative taks against tampering, [which is good news} they just debated the topic of Cowher or Gruden and who is better... I just don't believe Ross would have anything to do with tampering at all..don't believe it..I think its all exactly what they said, Cowher and Gruden have put out some feelers.. Sorry guys..mods merge if you want.
PTI has it as their 2nd story...Kornheiser says, dolphins have contacted cowhers people with their intermediaries...I don't know what the hell is goin on right now...
I HIGHLY doubt (and hope) Ross is not stupid enough to fire Sparano and bring Cowher in mid-season... not that I think Cowher would even accept such a proposal. Maybe he's trying to truly get Suck for Luck going with a full head of steam by all but firing Sparano without actually doing it, killing morale, and making it even more likely that we take it all the way.
OK folks this circus needs the curtains to fall on this horible act by the management .so I want to know CAN Mr. Ross be on the verge of firing the two dufuses ?Please tell me he isnt about to do something stupid we might have to get Marino to talk some since into our owner so I am past the point of being troubled I am ready to hear some good news so who is with me here.
Because the latter actually sounds like a good idea, I'm gonna side with the former being the more likely possibility knowing our ownership.
Translation: Stephen Ross probably had Carl Peterson, who's tight with Cowher, contact him. Same as last year. Dan Marino has also talked to Dolphins brass and indicated that Cowher has told him he's got an itch to coach again - this being through their working together on the CBS preview show.
This instills in me the sort of fear one feels right before a Roseanne Barr/Rosie O'Donnell nude scene.
The media is runin with this Ro, that Ross has once again interfered while the current coach is in place, how the hell is this team literally suppose to function at all under this whirlwind so early without continuing to damage the reputation, somebody is gonna have to start talkin on our end, or this sh%$ is gonna get out of control..am I overreacting here..
That's just it, Ross didn't contact Bill Cowher. Carl Peterson did. Carl is friendly with both Ross and Cowher, hence his being the intermediary. The team hasn't really functioned properly since Bill Parcells left Ireland and Sparano to fend for themselves. I mean, Tony's lost what, 9 straight games dating back to last year, and 12 of the past 13 home games. If you didn't think there was going to be some degree of awkwardness after the whole "Dolphins Roundtable" thing after Ross was unable to land Harbaugh, then I'm not sure what to tell you.
as stated Ross doesn't need to talk to Cowher or Gruden ... there are multiple entities that can reach out without personal intervention. i think that's a lesson he 'might' have learned over the Harbaugh debacle. Fat Tony is a dead man walking ... heck he was a lame duck coming into the year, with little hope of hanging on. The dumbest decision was keeping him ... The problem with football vs the business world, is that you have media watching your every move -- so, in business you could be lining up a successor with little fan fare or attention, so that when you do can a leader - you have the next regime all lined up ... AND there'd be little thought or backlash for doing such. of course, sports isn't the same as in the business world ... as an NFL owner, Ross has been nothing short of a boob ... but is it really that big a deal if someone reaches out and says - hey, if you are really interested in coaching in MIA, let's see what you can put together and be prepared to brief at the end of the season. I see nothing wrong with that - at all.

Well, I understand the thought, but let's face it, in January, TS was still on solid ground and Ross meeting with Harbaugh came out of the blue. FF to today and things are certainly different. I don't think ANYONE sees TS here much past the end of the last game of this season, right..wrong or indifferent. There WILL be a new HC come the 2013 season...is there any doubt ?? For him to reach out or for them to reach to Ross, at this point isn't going to make a difference other than IF it became as open as the Harbaugh thing, Ross would probably have to fire TS during the season or whenever it became public knowledge.
A monday night football game between the JAGUARS/RAVENS pulls in more ratings than a world series game........ everyone would rather talk about football.
