Good point and one I find fascinating. There are many SFLers who say ridiculous things like "I don't root for my team to lose" and yet claim to be for Luck. Can't have it both ways. I imagine some fans are flat out scared to just say "**** the 2011 Miami Dolphins". I'm certainly not one of them. The team can't fail hard enough for me. Leave no doubt.

No one here can control what happens anyway.
    Why root against your team?

I root for losses. I don't however see that as rooting for the team to fail. Not when the team has already failed and the season is already over anyways. At this point rooting for Andrew Luck is rooting for the team to succeed, for the next 15 years.

As weird as it sounds, rooting for my team makes me feel as if I've influenced wins. Same for losses.

Its like finger-pointing, don't do it. I expect him to MAN UP to his own role in what's going on. The fans are reacting to how the players are playing. If you're waiting on a table, and you spill drinks on the customers, leave them sitting for 30 minutes before you take their order, you take down the wrong orders, ignore them after their food is brought out to them, never refill their drinks and then overcharge them on their bill, do you complain how "sick" it is that they stiffed you on the tip?

The guy should have just said yeah I know its out there but I tune it out, and the fans are just reacting to how disappointing we've played this year and I'm disappointed with them.

THAT, is how to be a professional about it.

I don't see why people are excusing this.

You see players taking swings at each other, or kicking each other in the junk, going ballistic on the media, or a player yelling at a coach, or a coach yelling at a player...and what's the comment? "He's just a competitor," or "He's very passionate about winning, and we're all pretty frustrated," etc. Water off a duck's back.

But some fans start seeing the bright side to a team's suckiness, start feeling a sense of accomplishment with losses rather than wins, and suddenly these players, whose salaries we fans pay, get to call us "sick" and "not a true fan"?

    **** them.

Relative to other positions I don't think its a high impact position. It seems to be getting more important though.

I've been saying this all along, we don't need to route for the Phins to lose. They are without a doubt doing that all by themselves, without any help from us. I'll cheer for them and yell at my t.v. every week, but I also know that it's pretty pointless. The only thing that keeps me from constantly being pissed off is the fact that we might get Luck.

If these ******* would play like they belong in the NFL then no Phinfan would be routing against them. Fasano and the rest of the Phins can all go straight to hell for doing this to my beloved team.

    Of course not.

If they come to my restaurant and start cheering when I make those mistakes, and rooted for me to make more mistakes, then I certainly would let them know how I feel about it.

Cause I'm a god damn Dolphins fan that's why I will always root for them to win. That is what I do.
If I can't control any outcome then why would I root against them.
It's stupid and makes fans look foolish to root against your team.
Not that difficult to understand, really.

Agreed, although it makes for a better story than me just getting a picture with him. And to be honest (and there were a bunch of members form this board to back it up), I was more concerned with the girls walking around the bar in painted on (yes, painted on) jerseys than Anthony ****ing Fasano.

You know I don't give a **** what Fasano says, I don't care about this season because it was over before it started, but if you are a **** team then you want to see them fail as much as they can, to maybe have a future.
Ask the Panther fans how they feel about last year now.Fasano can go **** himself.

Actually, no I didn't. I could not give a **** about autographs. We were there for a Dolphins draft party where Fasano was invited (and probably paid) to be there. A bunch of Dolphins fans we in line to get his picture, autograph. In_Flames and myself were busy drinking and working these girls when we noticed that th eline was dying out. We decided that we wanted a picture with Him so we went over, I snapped a photo of Jason and Anthony and then we swapped. Accept that Fasano declined to take anymore photos.

I looked around and said, "Dude, I am the only one asking still...really?"

And his boys told me that he was done, so that is when I told him to have a crappy year...which he did.

I went back to chasing the wimmens. It wasn't like we were waiting at a card shop specifically to see him. We were going to be at that bar regardless of Fasano being there or not.

And the bar and women, were far more entertaining than his ogre looking ***.

For the record, that signed ball I have is scruffed up so bad from using it still, that you can hardly see his worthless autograph anyways.
