I think I have watched the Mike Judge Collections of Beavis & Butthead like a million times.... I am stoked for this.

Thursday night, the new season premieres! Any of you guys watch some of their Jersey Shore phone conversations they've been posting? They're pretty good, IMO.
The best thing about Beavis and Buthead is its derivative: King of the Hill. Much as I love Judge's projects I cant say I am impressed with anything B&B save maybe for parts of the feature flick. JMHO
I would say my list of cartoons goes: 1) simpsons 2) futurama 3) southpark 4) king of hill 5) b and b . . . . 99) family guy 100) all that other garbage by family guy
Beavis and Butthead was a gem due to the absolute purity of every character's imbecility. It set the table for everything that came after it, including every other modern animated show on everyone's top-ten list.
I always enjoyed the Animaniacs, but being a Speilberg property they have disappeared, but Pinky and the Brain and Wackoo and Chicken Boo, and the dog and the kid were all funny funny stuff. And of course, Ren and Stimpy.
The Simpsons did start first (1989, B&B 1992) but the boys opened the door for the depiction of the extreme humor in unredeeming stupidity. You could argue that Homer was the original model for that, but he always had some redeeming qualities; the boys had/have zero.
I agree with that. And good call on animaniacs pads. That was a fantastic cartoon. Good idea bad idea segments are still hysterical to me today.
Very adult aimed for what it was lucky, helloo nurse! Anywho, I'll have to find MTV on cable now as I've not bothered with them for quite awhile. FWIW, I can recall watching Liquid Television when B+B first came on and that was pre 93 iirc.
Beavis and Butthead for me. South Park feels like it tries too hard. B & B feels more organic and makes me crack up at stupid ****.
If we are looking at cartoons that originated the genre how about Ren and Stimpy? That was around 92ish right? Not before simpsons but before b and b ?
Already mentioned P13. As for the show itself, eh, have to say I was disappointed as B+B had not changed..at alll. Granted idiocy as comedy is their hook, but..I just expected more...cleverness? self depreciation? something? I may as well have watched an episode from 97 as to watch this one, Mike Judge should have advanced them a bit more imo.
I hate it when people try to say family guy is better than the simpsons. That's a good top five you've got. I might put Beavis and Butthead ahead of king of the hill though. Too bad B&B and never made a guest appearance...
