This is exactly how Peyton SHOULD react.

Peyton has a few seasons left in him, and the Colts need to use that pick to bring in guys who will help him win a Super Bowl NOW....

Manning to Polian, pre-draft: "If you don't take me, I'm going to kick your butt for the next 10 years."

Manning to Polian, numerous contract negotiations: "Give me every single dollar you can spare."

    I'd say this is in-character.

As the Colts and Dolphins both continue along the "Suck for Luck" path to the draft, with Miami looking more competitive, and Indy looking like a division 1A team, it's looking more and more like Indy will win the coveted #1 overall pick in next year's draft. Which does create an interesting situation as far as Indy drafting Luck. Obviously, Indy would be foolish to pass on Luck. But, does Peyton embrace/support the decision? Does he make a full recovery, and is he 100% ready to play next year? Does Luck embrace/accept being Peyton's prodigy? How might Indy better utilize trading the pick away, and reloading on a Hershel Walker type of draft day trade?

It would be very telling if Peyton did suit up and play the last few games (but, that's very unlikely to happen IMHO). Why on earth would he or the team take the chance on him getting hurt again in a lost season like this one?

I still think that unless we end up with the first overall pick, we won't have Luck. I think the Colts take him. Whether Manning is ok with it in the end or not, they take him.

As good as Peyton is, I don't know if he is enough to overcome all the deficiencies with that team right now (they squeeked into the playoffs last year, and then got sent him in the first game), and Manning is one hit away from being done. He might be entering the Pennington zone, where you just can't count on that body part to stay healthy.

Three neck surgeries in two years was it? Nerve damage? You really think the Colts will pin the next 4-5 years on that not happening again and pass up an Andrew Luck for it? No way.

The Rams are a tougher case. Bradford is young, looked good in stretches last year, and their supporting cast is mostly terrible except for the game every now and again when Jackson goes into Berserker mode. But really, how special is Bradford compared to Luck's potential. Has what St. Louis seen so far enamored them so deeply that they won't take him? Especially if there is a new staff in place next year?

    It's #1 or bust imo.

well then miami fans should look at other qbs because we need more draft picks and miami never seems to make out like bandits in the draft its always giving up picks to move down instead of raking in the picks like our afc east rivials do.

I want Blackmon and take qb weeden in rd 2 and get some extra picks from trading down so we can get 2 tightends and two olinemen. Luck is the best prospect but those other qbs are good too.
