Why should we be so into him. He stood by a terrible QB for way too long. Stewart was terrible. A few of my guys are slacking at work. I have an entire list of people to replace them. Smart business.

If they fire Sparano and an interim coach or Cowher inspires these guys to win 3, 4, 5 or more games I'll be even more ****ing pissed off.

We have a REAL shot at getting the best QB prospect in over a decade. You don't screw that up.

If Ross thinks he'll be smart to start winning a few near the end of the season, to keep fans from turning away from the team, then dmubo may accomplish the opposite.

I have zero interest in a team that continues to be below-mediocre and without a stud QB. If we dumbly take ourselves out of the running for luck and end up having to 'settle' yet again for another QB there is no way I'll give a **** about this franchise next year.

I've already stopped watching the games and only check scores. First time in fifteen years I've done that. Not even Cam Cam made me give up hope. But if Ross is dumb enough to cost us a chance at a great QB... just so we can win three meaningless games, then **** him.

i meant of a owner really wants someone to coach a team who is not a minority. Such as the case everyone knew Parcells wanted Sparano. That was a given.
    Tomlin well superbowl winning coach.

Ross says I have not reached out to cowher. Of course he is supposed to say this, Then again did he reach out to his agent?

"I have not reached out to him in any way and will not so long as Tony [Sparano] is the coach," Ross said in a statement tonight. "I will not reach out to anyone so long as Tony is the coach.

"And," the short statement concludes, "I hope Tony wins and stays the coach."

We have a legit shot at landing a top coaching candidate and a top 3 pick for a new regime. Ross needs to back off and let this season unfold, then get after the best of the best the day he fires Sparano. Only Ross can screw this up now.

It is a whole different set of circumstances from then till where we are.
They are reaching out. Contact isn't a bad thing right now.
If Cowher makes us walk on eggshells. Move on.

Damn Barry, don't hold back. Just messing but I understand. Last week I was tempted to DVR the shortcut version of the game to see what happened and watch the Falcons vs Lions live. I don't think I've ever thought about watching another game live instead of Miami, doesn't matter if it's week 17 and we're 5-10. I still watched the game of course, but the fact I thought about it kinda lets me know where I'm at with this team, just frustrated on so many levels. All week I've been more excited to see Luck and Barkley play each other than watch the Giants kick our....

I'm with ya, let Sparano and Ireland go all the way down with this thing and maybe they'll leave us with a nice pick. Canning Sparano and winning a few games with a new coach, we'll have to invent a better saying than "rubbing salt in the wound."

Maybe the wrong time but I remember talking about Daniel Thomas during the preseason.
How do you feel about him now? Just wondering?
Remember you talking about Norwood and another in some comparison.
DT ran with his pads too high was said.

In see no differenences in this context, there is a head coach employed here, the right thing to do is not to contact Cowher or any coach, and start some sort of negotiation...There are ways to gauge interest in this situation that doesn't step on anyones toes, cowher, or sparano..

    Ross made the right statement.

Cowher flirted with Miami, and now Miami is batting their eyes right back, but we haven't actually asked him out on a date, so I don't see a problem here.

We're just sending out our feelers, and from what I understand, it's common practice in the NFL, even if the current coach is still employed. I don't think this should be confused with an owner desperately flying across country in hopes of courting his current coach's future replacement.

Cowher said that "he" will not speak to a team without a HC vacancy. Technically we respected this by contacting his agent rather than Cowher himself.

We're on a time schedule IMO, so I really don't see anything wrong with being inquisitive. From an owner's perspective, if changing coaches during the season means potentially costing yourself Andrew Luck, then what's the point, right?...... but at the same time you need to legitimately find out who your potential candidates are, and if your primary candidate (Cowher) seems questionable then you'd like to be aware of this little nugget ASAP so that you have sufficient time left to research & assess alternatives and send out more feelers.

Plus, if Cowher really wants to come here, he's no dummy. He knows the longer Sparano stays put this year the better the chance he'll have at inheriting the rights to Luck. I wouldn't be surprised if he agrees to a secret handshake in order to save face amongst his peers & media. I'm not saying I believe it will happen, just that I wouldn't be surprised if it did.
