If you are rooting for the dolpins to win each week than that would be correct. You cant root and hope for both dolphin wins and the number one pick. Its two competing interests

I certainly understand your loyalty to the organization. I have been a fan of the Dolphins since 1966. I was a season ticket holder for forty years and traveled to nearly 30 away games over this period. I figure I have spend over $150,000 on season tickets and traveling to Dolphin away games over the last forty years. I was there for the great years, the good years, and the bad years. For the first time in forty one years I did not purchase season tickets for this season. I just could no longer support this organization when I disagreed with Ross keeping Sparano and Ireland, after last season.

I do find it difficult not caring if the Dolphins win this year. But the fact is that this organization is going no where until Ross hires a quality GM and HC. Also the number one need for the Dolphins is a franchise QB. Andrew Luck appears to be the best QB prospect coming out of college since Peyton Manning. The fact that most Dolphin fans are willing to accept defeat by this years team in hopes of getting Luck in the draft is not a negative. The Dolphins this season are a bad team with no chance of winning more than one or two games. Yet winning these games may certainly cost the team the one player who can turn this organization around over the next decade or more.

So think what you want about those of us who want to see Luck in a Dolphin uniform next season. Most of us care far more about the organization going forward, then what one or two wins will mean this season.

 

To be fair, there are MANY ways to land Mr. Luck, and fewest wins is just one of them, and still no guarantee depending on other franchises.

I can't control the outcome so it really has nothing to do with me.
Personally I'm maintaining my integrity...... If things fall into place and we some how land Andrew Luck I'll still be sitting here as always doing what I do.

I just want Ross to get rid of Ireland and Sporano, I can't take this level of idiocy on the part of the FO.
So if they loose it doesn't bother me like it use to, I just couldn't believe the Broncos game, that just broke me.

 

Sure, but a win doesn't necessarily change those chances with 10 games to go. Lots of variables.

I don't think one side or the other has the high ground on the debate. Rooting and results do not go hand in hand.

 

I believe what he said was that he has "no plans" to coach next year. Which is essentially him saying nothing. Plans always change and he is free to do whatever he wants next year. I believe he did have to say something because of the reports about being contacted by the dolphins organization. So he said the most pr friendly thing he could which ties him to nothing

 

No, it's really not. One is a rational argument and the other is an irrational affection. The fact that the rational me would like to see Andrew Luck in Miami doesn't preclude the irrational me from rooting for Miami when the game is actually on. Two souls alas are dwelling in my breast. Or so Goethe said.
