Can anyone believe he tied brees at 315 yards passing today, it does make you think that he might have promise, the one thing i notice is he does not get comfortable one some throws when he is moving and it makes him inaccurate, do you think he can improve on technique,

Lemon is, what Lemon is. Talent wise hes topped out

He reminds of Kurt Whelihan of the Chargers. KW tookover for ???? did a credible job. The Chargers decided to ride the KW bandwagon. KW proceeded to stink up the joint the next year so bad the Chargers drafted Ryan(Crying) Leaf

Lemon would make a good back up for us, once we find a starter....

Honestly i'd rather have Grossman over Lemon.... Grossman isn't the best, but he's better than what we have currently.

I really appreciate what Lemon has done for us, but now that we have that win, i hope we play Beck here on out to see what we have in this guy. It would be nice to know if we should draft a QB next year or not, and we're not going to know if Beck is riding the bench...

The thing is, Lemon can only play at the level he has played this year. Next year, Beck will have a year of experience and should be better.

I want Lemon to stay on this team, though.

    Well away from here
If Lemon is the backup, then we have something relatively decent.

A guy who knows the system, and has enough experience to win a game or two. There is nothing more you can really ask for from a backup.

Lemon still has problems with touch, planting his feet, knowing when to tuck the ball in and run.

I'd take Lemon over Grossman in a heartbeat. Grossman is an awful quarterback at least Lemon has shown promise at times.

If Lemon would make those throws on the run and not make bone headed mistakes (safety against Buffalo, running backwards to knock us out of field goal range today) then I think he'd put up a fight to be the answer.

I think Beck has what it takes to be a starter.

    Noooooo no Rex Grossman...ever....

Kyle Orton is starting over Rex tomorrow, he hasn't started in two seasons or so.

Cleo played well today, whether or not he is our guy at QB, that remains to be seen, he is inaccurate, he also is very raw as a QB, his field awareness is a bit "off".

That's only because Grossman is injured..... not a performance-related decision.

I don't think anyone said Grossman was pro-bowl caliber.... i think it more has to do with Grossman just being better than anything we currently have. No one can objectively argue that point.

We saw two different halfs to Lemon today. The first half he was horrible, but in the second Cam opened the play book and the Oline gave him some time to make some nice throws.

My issue with Cleo is he doesnt throw an accurate deep ball and rarely looks past 20 yards. I think his yards today are somewhat misleading considering his receivers turned some short passes into long gains, like the last play of the game.
At least he didnt throw any INT's today.

THAT is one of the biggest keys to today's win.... No costly INT's. Cleo has his shortcomings, but he got us a W today, and i appreciate that.

Now that we got that win out of the way, put Beck back in and let's see how much more development we can get out of him this year.

Hmmm, he hit Ginn last week on a deep ball . . . and this week he had Ginn in the endzone . . . and it was a horrible NOCALL that should have been Pass Interference. He definitely has been better than Beck and Green on the deep ball this year.

And many guys who have 300 and 400 yard days have plays like that to get there yardage . . . u don't actually think that guys who pass for 400 yards do that without the receivers getting any YAC.

He had a nice game IMO, not perfect . . . but an over 90 QB rating and no turnovers . . . . I will take that EVERY week from him.

Congrats to Lemon on his great game, I think he has talent and can be a great backup, but look at Garrard. He reminds me of Jay Fiedler, the kid has heart

The back up with be someone that knows the offense so it will probably be Cleo or Volek.

Cleo is a decent #2 but thats it.

He made some plays today as did the receivers (didnt drop'em as usual).

However, that said, he also made some really bone headed mistakes as usual. (holding onto the ball too long, acting like a chicken with its head cutt off at times).

In the end he'll be a really good, not great, #2 guy but IMHO if he reaches Fiedler status as far as ability I'd be happily surprised. I honestly believe that although Lemon has better arm strength, Fiedler was a better QB....and I thought Jay was a great #2.

We need a true #1....then again we've been saying that for almost 8 years now:unsure:

    My 2 cents...

Nobody wants to give Cleo his deserved props w/o always pointing out his flaws . . . its really sad. U get threads like Camirillo is my hero . . everybody is pumping him up like the next Welker, but then the guy who threw the pass gets . . . "he is a decent #2 QB" or "he still made mistakes" . . . I mean this thread is about Cleo leading the league in passing yards today . . . lets give this man some props . . . he led our team to its first win of the season . . . not Trent Green or John Beck . . . and like it or not . . . Cleo IS our lead candidate to start next year (as of right now) . . . so give this kid the support he needs to succeed.

The guy has 7 starts, for Pete's sake. We don't know enough to know if he is a bust or a gift.

I, for one, like what I see and believe that he has a future as a starting QB in the NFL.

I see a starter in this kid as well... Look at BREES in his first year... They were saying the same thing about him... A great backup but not a starter... That is why the drafted Rivers... And then the next year, BREES takes SD to a 14-2 record...

Noone seems to want to take the time to really evaluate talent...

I really don't see a starter in him, he is way to inconsistent. I think he is a perfect back-up. I know its only 7 games, but they guy has also been in the league for what, 4 years.

He almost lost the game yesterday with that bonehead move running backwards and out of bounds taking us out of field goal range.

I have no problem with him coming back as our # 2 next year.

It's not really fair to say that Lemon has been better than Beck at the deep ball...how often did Beck get plays called that had him looking long? He was always running plays that involved three step drops...doesn't give you much time to look downfield...
