Caught the premiere episode and I liked it a lot, especially in contrast to how much I disliked Once Upon a Time. The premise is that the Grimm family posses the ability to see the villains in the fairy tales by the brothers Grimm, and the ability is passed down through generations. The latest is a Portland, OR Detective who suddenly acquires the ability just as his only surviving relative is about to pass on. A bit too reliant on the ubiquitous "BOO moments," but good stories and good acting woven into a terrific arc. I'm anxious to see where they take it.
I am still giving Once upon a Time a couple of shots to see how it progresses. The thing about Grimm is the cop-show angle....so tired of Cop shows...so many on my plate already. LOL.... Keep me posted on Grimm....and since Once is only 2 episodes in I am hoping it turns into the "Wicked - Wizard of Oz" style and goes behind the story to get to the outcome/storylines of Fairytales we know, etc.
I tried watching it on Saturday night, but it was after several beverages so I don't really remember a lot of it. I plan on giving it another shot some time this week. Will let you know what I think.
I was late to the party so I had to watch the pilot last night. I liked it. I'm glad his Aunt didn't pass yet. I think she could be good in bringing some back story about the family.
I thought Grimm was okay, but may be yet another cop show. I enjoyed Once Upon a Time more than Grimm.
My DVR is too the max recording 50 different shows, had to delete some that arent currently airing, and Grimm is on the same time as Fringe & Supernatural
Torrents my man, torrents. I haven't watched it yet because A) I figured Friday night would kill it (seems it hasn't, though the numbers are dropping precipitously) and B) I wanted to make sure it actually had an arc and wasn't another monster of the week/procedural type. I guess the jury's out on the latter.
Finally got around to rewatching the Pilot today. (I know, I know, better late than never) Interesting concept, though I'm not sure how much main stream appeal it can really have. Then again, with Twilight, True Blood, and the like perhaps we're ready for a Supernatural Crime Drama in Prime Time. The pilot was better than I remember, though I can't promise that they're going to be able to hold my interest. I almost wish this was on one of the cable networks where they could really take it over the top. On network TV it seems like it could really stray into the realm of corney and hokey very easily.
