To be honest I'm not surprised they put up a stinker after 4 solid games in a row. It certainly is going to take more than one year to de-Shannonize this team.
To be fair, this is the worst front-4 I can remember in Miami history, and probably the worst secondary I can remember in the last 20 years.
That may be true, but it is still a coaching mistake to be caught in cover zero by a mere shift in formation. That is elementary stuff. They needed to check into a zone. This is defensive football 101. This is not rocket science.
Haven't been impressed with D'Onofrio. On the other hand, this isn't the same scheme they used at Temple, and they've admitted they haven't been able to do the things they want because of the players. I'm willing to give D'Onofrio another year, but if there isn't significant improvement next year, bye bye.
He sure could use some better talent. The Cb's are so bad they have to keep them 7 yards off the LOS, and the Lb's and Safety freelance too much. Part of it is coaching but without decent backups, his hands are tied.
I think it's time to admit that our safeties just aren't that good. Telemaque and especially Ray Ray, all hype, no substance, like most of the big time recruits Shannon recruited. Ray Ray has been awful this year. Put him at LB because he damn surue isn't a safety.
Mike Williams is getting a lot of playing time. I think that says a lot about the CB talent we have. The dude was at Wake Forest last year.
They don't know what position they want him to play. I say they decide on something and play him. This is a throwaway season. Might as well use it to evaluate the young guys.
If you ask nicely I'm sure BlameItOnTheHenne will happily drive over and show you...... ................ his boot for being a lazy knucklehead................ and a Canes fan.
Sooooo I had the pleasure of watching today's Dolphins game on the big screens at the stadium. Mike Dee was around as well, you know the CEO and the guy who came up with "Gaytor Day". Well, I decided to take a picture with him.
Well, something to ponder, if JoePa winds up resigning at PSU...we all know who the guy was who is supposed to replace him...wears dress shirts on the sidelines...used to coach at Temple...
We'll see bro, not something I want to see happen as he is exactly what the U needs, but let's face, Penn State is his bucket list job.
That was before the Penn State program went down in shambles. Doesn't matter who's coaching that team, they're ****ed in recruiting for at least the next 5 years.
I know a great defensive minded coach who is a hypocrite, lazy on the recruiting trail, likes to yell at the press, and is an all around prick. I believe he mentioned being interested in Miami last year...... Please take him!
How does everyone feel about his brother Carl? Equally lazy, bigger prick than Bo, and he is a package deal with Bo.
I know nothing about him to be honest. Hard to tell how much of Nebraska's success is actually his doing since he doesn't have any kind of track record to go on.
You funny, we are closing in on NCAA action, that could be major, the PSU job comes open for the first time in 50 yrs, and we are in a better situation?
Could be major. Kind of like Sparano could be the head coach next year. Miami won't be hit with anything severe, for many reasons, that have already been discussed ad nausem. Most people acknowledge this. Meanwhile, you have a school who just covered up a coach raping 10 year olds in the showers of said university. Not one, not two, not three, not four, not five, but six kids decommited from Penn State since the scandal came public. The top DE in the nation out of Harrisburg took Penn State completely off his list. More will come. And Penn State will have a very hard time recruiting for at least the next 5 years. Kids don't want to go there. Parents won't let their kids go there. And now Paterno is gone, which is the reason many of these kids go to Penn State in the first place. They're a dumpster fire.
