Turnovers does it all the time. Stanford has no Defense. All luck and he had a bad game. i don't think he wins the Heisman.
I can't really say for sure because I only got to watch the last quarter, but from my eyes it really looked like Andrew Luck had Dan Marino syndrome where he was getting absolutely no help from anyone else.
Not intending to sound like "I told you so", but... One of the things I've brought up in the past about Andrew Luck was the lack of competition he's played against in the PAC 10 and due to that lack of competition, he's been able to shine. Last night he played against the number 7 ranked team in the nation...a team with some stiff competition to challenge his quarterbacking skills...and as I suspected would happen, Luck failed...2 interceptions and a fumble. Granted, Stanford's defense does indeed suck, but by all accounts of the Luck proponents, Luck alone should have been able to overcome that since he's the elite pick in the upcoming NFL draft. Well, Luck actually faced a ranked defense and showed everyone, Andrew Luck is not Superman. Luck has been exploiting weak defenses all season long. Tonight, he was exploited. Had Stanford's schedule included nationally ranked teams that he had beaten (like one QB I'm a proponent of) and this being Luck's only loss, I'd be saying, "oh well can't beat them all"...but the one time you face a nationally ranked team...and lose?? Your abilities are now suspect.
Nationally ranked team? I don't think that's a fair way of putting it. I think you gotta put the defensive numbers. I'll tell you one thing, Oregon's defense is just a tad easier to face then Tennessee last I checked. That's not that impressive even.
He has faced to ranked teams before yesterday and managed to put up over 100 points combined in those two wins. He also took care of a very good VT team in the Orange Bowl last season.
I never watched Sunday Night Countdown. I remember hearing about the event, but it was a few years ago...
Emmitt Smith's mauling of the English language is legendary at this point.
