20 of 29 for 209 and a QBR of 77% More importantly, he hit important throws, not in the endzone..yet, but when we needed something down the field he managed to hit on it, in Carolina he was known as a Qb that guys would make plays for, and in my mind, Fasano made some, so did Brandon Marshall. Downside..2 turnovers, 1 FF 1 int, both were not purely his fault, but then again, the guy wih the ball in his hands is ultimately on the hook. I like his game, that does not mean "he should start in 2012" but he is competent.
I'd love him as a long-term backup and as a guy that starts the first 4-6 games of the 2012 season while Barkley gets some seasoning.
Well, I've said all along, he has the rest of the season to show what he can do, so far he has shown to be a decent Qb, but not really good enough to stop us from drafting one with a #1 pick imo
He managed a great game. And his arm was hit when he threw the pick right? Anyways, he shouldn't be passing on 3rd and 30 in his own zone.
Not 77% passer rating. It'd be awesome if he got 77%, but he was closer to 49% passer rating. I thought he played ok, but the sooner we have an upgrade, the better.
I refuse to believe the dolphins don't have someone that's better then Colombo hes going to get all our qbs on the roster killed
I'll say it again, he is a back up, he threw some balloons again today, he almost got Thomas killed. I'm happy we are winning but if we fall for this guy as our starter we are done.
He shouldn't have thrown that pass on 3rd and forever.Wasn't close, wasn't smart at all. All and all though, he had a good day.Nice win,it gives us true fans some hope.
one was here for 4 years and got all the 1st team reps and practices, while the other was just signed shortly before the season began as a backup......
He's acceptable. He didn't do anything that made me think he was all that great but he is definitely solid and a more than capable back up.
Just reread the thread. Don't see where ANYONE is falling for him as a starter. Did I miss something?
He sucks. He's played in 6 games, and has touchdown passes in 2 of them. Meanwhile, he's thrown INTs in 4 of them.
How about we wait until he actually plays a good team? Chiefs are flailing right now and had zero pass rush outside of Hali, who was neutralized by Long. Washington is arguably one of the worst 3 teams in NFL right now. The back end of our schedule will bring Matt Moore back down to mediocrity.
He's nothing more than a solid back-up, but I guess he has another seven games to somehow change our minds.
really ... we just won 2 games against 2 of the worst current playing teams in the NFL right now. The JILLS and JESTS have settled into average teams, so there are probably 2 more wins on the horizon this year. without a true offseason program, teams are now settling into true form ... and there is a lot of mediocrity, and as some have said - we aren't as bad as the team started out this season. but those that believe that Moore is better than Henne ... well .... touche the smartest thing this franchise could do about QB is to resign Henne and draft one in RD1 (my belief remains Jones - since Luck isn't in our future).
Oh, believe I'm not in love with Matt Moore, he does not produce enough Td's for that to happen, it ain't like that, what I am saying is he is on a decent run atm. Basically, all he is doing is feeding Marshall, hitting Fasano and Bess when he has to, and ignoring Hartline's side of the field, vs poor teams that works, against the better teams, we shall see, either way though some credit where it is due. Put it this way, he is our best 2nd string Qb who is starting for us since the immortal..Gus Frereotte..
what i will say in Moore's favor is that he got hosed in CAR, being benched for Clausen ... while i'd agree that Moore probably would be a decent back-up to have around, my question is -- what is he going to teach a rookie? Can he be a mentor?
Fin Fans have been making lemonaid out of lemons since Ricky went nutty on the ganja in 04. If one thinks about it, only twice have we had reasons for optimism, 2005 and 2008, otherwise we have been relegated to the back bench for yrs. I mean, for real, who really, truly, believed we'd manage to stink so badly we could have drafted Luck? This franchise disappoints us constantly even when we are really bad.
I think the concern is (especially if this teams wins a few more games this season) that this FO will start to believe in Moore as a potential long term solution to the starting QB position, much as they did with Henne. Well, that's my concern anyway.
If Moore was having a Fitzpatrick in 2010 type season I could see that happening, but he's not, all he has been doing is playing caretaker Qb with a bit of a wrinkle, we have not put up the points or numbers with him as the Qb that to my mind would make that much of a possibility.
I agree. Not worried about it at all. That said, I see no reason to get rid of the guy. I think henne is a good yardstick for more. He has around half the attempted career passes as Henne and I really don't think he is much worse if at all. Moore will turn it over, but Henne left tons of plays on the field. I think Moore is a good guy to have on your team Sent from my DROID2 using Tapatalk
Matt got hurt is why he was benched he came back and won the 9ers game for us then we lost him to IR he needed shoulder surgery...
Yeah, I know that. And, you all know that. BUT...does Ross know that? And, there's still what...seven more games to go? If history has taught me anything, it's that anything is possible. Especially with this franchise.
