Nothing to be happy about when your 2-7 and last place in the division this honestly shows how dumb this team is in general.

I'am happy that they didn't implode, I'am happy for Sparano getting them to bond without calling out any players during their horrid stretch, I'am not happy with the coaches for not getting their players to be more ready to start camp...It might of been our death wish this season.

How much of that should be the coaches fault and not the players themselves' fault? The coaches had no communication because of the lockout. With no offseason program, the onus was on the players.

Just imagine how different things would be if we were sitting at 4-5 with wins over Cleveland and Denver? Oh well...hope we beat Buffalo.

Like I said in the other thread, Not sure Iam buying that..I think something could of been organized to have some sort of outside source implement a structured environment to train..and at the least, Dansby, the self proclaimed best linebacker in the game, should of been the defenses version of Chad Henne this offseason, and had his unit busting their ***...They should of been hungry, but no, they weren't..

Coaches could of got a message across, so for that I blame them the most.

that's right. no one should ever be allowed to be happy if things aren't going perfectly well. No one should be happy if they feel like they have turned the corner and the overall performance is improving.
No one should have self-esteem if things are going the way the fans want it to go.

I see what he is saying though, the team is 2-7, why be happy about it?

Now, granted, when you were going bad, and manage to have a small turnaround, a team should enjoy it, but not lose sight of the bigger picture, mainly digging out of that deep hole you put yourself into.

There's plenty for them to be happy about. Specifically, I'd imagine they're happy that they've stopped the slide, and aren't going to end the season 0-16, or even 1-15 for that matter. I'm sure if you went to any player in that locker room and said "Are you satisfied with 2-7, does that make you happy?" you'd get some pretty nasty looks, and possibly an *** beating. In their mind, and rightfully so, they have a chance at ending up 9-7 and ending over .500. Now we all know that's highly unlikely, and a lot of people feel that it would do more harm than good, but I don't think any professional athlete would try for anything less.

Okay, it's not sports...it's not football, but it is about accomplishment and achieving when riddled with doubt about failure, so please...indulge me for a moment.

As a drill sergeant, I would have privates struggle on certain tasks, be it weapons qualification, the rapel tower, confidence course...whatever it was. And there would be privates who would always beat themselves before they even attempted the task and because they had already beaten themselves, they failed at that task, but...

Have a private FINALLY scale over that top rung on the confidence ladder...
Have a private FINALLY meet a markmanship standard...
Have a private FINALLY reach the top of the rope...

and see the elation in his/her eyes. See the confidence they finally acheived. See how that private is suddenly looking forward to the next challenge with the confidence he/she can tackle it...and it all started with that first achievement...essentially, getting that first win.

The Dolphins finally got that first win...and then a second. If you think courtesy is contageous, you should see pandemic like effect confidence has. They finally got that monkey off their back, not just once, but twice and the swagger is coming back.

Now, whether or not we are indeed able to do something miraculous like win out the season (Oh God, with 9 straight wins, could Ross justify firing Sparano? YIKES) is unlikely, and maybe the Dolphins will only finish the season 4-12 or 5-11 or maybe even 6-10, spoiling people's hope for landing Andrew Luck, but as the team faces adversity to the confidence of being able to achieve victory...and not having already lost before they took the field, that's what you want in a team.

Yes yes I know what you're thinking and no it's not the "moral victory" speech. There are some teams that are just that much better than you and no matter how hard you practice, no matter how hard you try, you just can't beat them. To be beaten by a much better team is without shame.

To have beaten yourself before even taking the field is...and it seems our beloved Dolphins have realized they can indeed win.

I know I can honestly say that anyone who plays on a TEAM sport cares more for their teammates than anything else...winning included.

We sit and Monday Morning Quarterback EVERYTHING that happened the previous Sunday and we as fans seem to think we know it all. Well, we don't. We don't know that...

-Jared Odrick's mother in law is in the hospital and feels depressed because he can't stop his wife from crying...
-Reggie Bush got only an hour sleep last night as he sat up with his baby daughter who was crying all night because she was teething...
-Brandon Marshall's mother is henpecking him for not pressing charges against his wife(?)

No, we aren't in that locker room, so we dont "KNOW" jack.

I dont see the ......digging themselves out of this hole.........argument. They CANT get out of this hole, this year. The objective, at the beginning of every year is to make it to the next season, the playoffs, and we are NOT going to the playoffs this year, PERIOD. They CANT dig out of the hole they are in. Even if they made it to 8-8, I see no moral victory. IT is still a failure of a season, AGAIN. We start EVERY year, lately, by going 0-fer. Again, even an 8-8 season this year, would be a fun second half, but still a failure of a season.

I am 100% convinced that the "Suck for Luck" talk unified that locker room more than anything else in the entire world.

If this was just a "normal" season, where nobody was talking about the draft yet, these guys would have imploded and gave up.

Dont worry about perceived attitude, either way.....its all good...
That was not a blanket statement, but pertained to THIS TEAM. These guys, in charge, have been here long enough that ...that HAS to be the goal. Anything less is crap. For instance....when we went 1-15......not making the playoffs the next year WOULD HAVE BEEN acceptable. Unless you are a very young and BUILDING team, anything less is a lost season. We had a QB drop in our lap that off season and HE took us to the playoffs. IMHO.......we haven't had a QB since Penny left. THAT......is mgmts fault. There was NO REASON not to draft the Arkansas QB this past draft. If we were training a rookie QB, then fine, there is another reason, but we arent and Ireland and maybe Sparano need to take the blame for us not progressing to the playoffs this year since they seem to be saying we can win with Henne, even though we havent. I could go on, but I will let it go at that, for now.

If this team needed Suck for Luck to wake them from their collective stupor and start winning games then they are the biggest bunch of losers I have ever seen and are useless to me moving forward.

No see. That's the point. The coaches couldn't get the message across. There is no outside source they could have gotten. I mean it was hands off. It was up to the players. They're grown *** men, making a ton of money. The self motivation is evident by those who are doing well and those aren't. I know you think they should have done it, but there is no fault with the coaches. None.

If come into camp out of shape. That's not the coaches fault. That's mine. If I don't hit my sales quota because I'm not going on meetings. That's not my managers job. That's my fault. I don't see how you can connect the dots to players being out of shape to coaches or the organization.

What's funny is that everyone and their mother put up postings about how our team was poised to come out of the gates strong because of the activities lead by the team and we were one of the most well known teams having these organized functions. I guess it didn't work.

Ya, a lot of what if's. I'm just talking about 1 play being made in each game and they're 4-5 with the team they have and the season is still worth something. Ya, if we had Drew Brees we'd be great. If we drafted DaMarcus Ware we'd have a great pass rush. I could careless about that really. Just 1 play different in each game, and it's 4-5 with this group. Crazy, really.

Well if we switch defenses we don't really need a OLB, we need a nickel rusher. We'll probably start a Langford or a large run-stuffing end. What we'd need is a MLB. A safety would be great, a guard would be nice to switch Garner outside or a tackle to keep Garner inside when he finally does start....

What does the team look like with Peyton?

Other than positioning the team for better draft position and getting the coach & GM cnned explain to me how losing benefits the team going into next year. Is there a difference between laying down or a close loss? You get the moral victory on the latter, BFD.

I was one who thought that because of the offensive dedication this offseason there would be some cohesiveness, I was right, but apparently the defensive leaders didn't get the memo, and our leader was injecting blue cheese into his veins..Idiot.

As much as I'm still on board for SfL until mathematically eliminated, I'm happy the players are happy. That's the hardest thing about SfL is seeing the players we love going through hell trying to get a win. It's not their fault that GMs like Jeff Ireland have left this team without a QB for over a decade.

Basically what I'm trying to say is that I'd pay my 401(k) to see Channing Crowder throw a haymaker in Jeff Ireland's face.

    I am convinced of it.

The situation pissed off the players.

It was classic rally under the flag psychology, where it turned Sparano + the players into a "us against the world, including our own fans" type of mentality. It unified those guys more than anything else, I think.

I get what you are saying...............but...........every one of these guys need to be CUT if they were not playing to their full potential WITHOUT the SFL group getting to them. I played sports TO WIN.......not for the exercise.....Its about the competition.......I sure hope you are WRONG.
