I mentioned earlier that a 190 pd Db trying to tackle Tebow was a mismatch for the Jests, Tebow just showed why it may not pay to send the house against him..TD..scoreboard...

Problem with Tebow, is he is a bit like Peyton Hillis, but he can throw, that is a nightmare for Defenses.

This was sweet, my goodness all of the "it's a passing league" stuff, Joe Kapp jr...is what..3-1? 4-1?

    Stat monkeys...take note.

Was that more of an epic loss than our loss to Denver? I say yes...considering the Jets are fighting for a wild card...and are now behind the Broncos in the wild card hunt.

Denver had 8 drives in a row that ended in a punt! And won the game!!! Good live coverage on nfl.com

He can throw? Cmon. He can make plays outside the pocket, though.

Secret is, he made the one throw he had to make to Rosario, that is the problem with him, "oh, 6-16 passing", it is a bit like hitters who do better in the 7th inning onwards, people confuse stats with situational stats, huge difference between the two.

1 rushing Td, and what 60 yds rushing?

And he stuck that one throw that he had to make.

Yep, but vs us, he stuck that throw down to the 3 to Fields, after being terrible all day, and it was into triple coverage, that is the secret to Tebow, take Peyton Hillis, stick a inaccurate arm on him, let him run the ball in the 4th Qtr and let a Reciever make a play for him.

His passes flutter just like Joe Kapp's did back in the day, same sort of style of running, but Tebow is a far far better athlete then Kapp was, both just won ballgames "ugly"

One thing lost in all this "Tebow Magic!!!"...the Broncos defense has been playing great, and got 7 points as well, the same as Tebow. He can run, but that's about it...it's going to catch up. If they played a team with a real offense, like the Packers, Saints, Patriots, etc they'd get destroyed.

Good comments from the jets blog:

I have been a Jets fan for 46 years, I have lived through the Kotite years, I was personally in the stands to watch Richard Todd throw back to back pick 6s vs the Dolphins in the Orange Bowl. I watched them draft Ken O’Brien instead of Dan Marino, I watched them pass over the likes of Junior Seau and Warren Sapp in the drafts. I have lived through the Herm Edwards school of clock mismanagement, and watched the HC of the NYJ leave and lead their archrivals to 3 superbowls……….and for all of that, this loss is worse than all of that combined.

I am done for this year….hopefully they come back next year with a new OC and a new QB…….

    ----------------------------------------------------------------------

    Schotty is awful.

3rd and 14 and we run the ball. Then denver runs it right back down our throats

I’m going to try and Sugar coat this as best I can. OUR OFFENSE IS INEXCUSABLY AWFUL. MIGHT AS WELL PUNT IT ON FIRST DOWN. I WANT TO GO PUKE IN HUNTER’S HELMET

    ______________________________________________

What in the hell did I just watch? Why can’t our damn defense show some pride and not completely fold on the last drive of the game? What kind of offense only puts up 13 points against the Broncos? Why does Sanchez insist on throwing a pick-6 every week? Why does our coaching staff seem incapable of logical thought when the pressure gets turned up? How can hunter let a guy who weighs 60 pounds less than him just straight bull-rush through him in a critical situation? Why does Mcknight grease his hands before every 3rd return he attempts?

So many questions right now. I just don’t know if this team has it in them to turn this season around. I want to believe they do, but after witnessing the last 2 weeks, I just don’t see it…

    ______________________________________________________

i just cant..are you kidding me..i just cant im done with football this season apparently because we just lost to the denver broncos..the defense give us this performance and we lose…goodnight
sanchez ive backed you up this long just so that you prove me wrong time and time again

Tebow has 8 career starts, even for him, there has to be a learning curve that every young Qb goes through.

Rick Mirer started out the same way BTW.

  32. Colorado Dolfan

    Colorado Dolfan ...dirty drownin' man?

Learning curve, yes... Until he can consistently pass the ball, he'll be no more than the Wildcat trigger man he is now... ;)

More rushing attempts than pass completions in his NFL career, yet all the folks here in Colorado are annointing him Elway's heir apparent... Ugh.

Funny thing is, I recall Elway's rookie yr, and him being benched for Steve Deberg.

Imo, give him time, and they will have to ask him to pass more often, otherwise 7 Td's and 1 int and -0- turnovers.

I know he isnt throwing well, but look at the routes, nothing but curls and out routes and drags........look at his highlights from Florida, the guy is not a ****** at passing. He can make throws down the field....he's done it before. But if it's working doing what he's been doing, why change it?

Remember this gem from the "Brady being no longer the softest QB" thread......??

sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo........BB......you think the Jets wanna trade up into Miami's pick.....because they need a QB just as bad as Miami....your boy Sanchez isn't good at this, and he is holding ole Gang Green back from what is rightfully theirs.....

Well that and they just arent a good football team....

The bulk of his success on the last drive was out of a spread, empty formation not the wildcat. That's the same formation that Brady and Rodgers do the bulk of their damage from. The difference is that Tebow ran out of it more. He also threw better out of that formation whenever he was allowed to move the pocket. If Denver learns how to let him play in that formation for more than just the last 5 minutes, then it is sustainable. What is not sustainable is using a conventional offense while throwing in a zone read or option every 7 or 8 plays and hoping the game stays close enough for Tebow to win it for you in the end.

I give him credit, he runs the heck out of the spread Den-Veer (:wink2:) offense.

I still say, I would love to have Tebow on the Dolphins and anytime we get to the 30-25yd-line (Red Zone for sure) and in, especially inside the 10yd line I would trot him out to run this veer offense. Its amazing his success rate in getting TDs and not settling for FG!
