My first impression immediate was as mentioned before. When harry told him to let it go to not give into his darkness, then the kid pushed it so he gave into it. His brother was the dark side of his family and harry was the good. so for the time being the kid pushed his light into the darkness and his brother represents the fact that hes given into his darkness for the time being.

Dexter brother is to Dexter as Geller is to Travis.

Also a clue to Geller is a ghost is when Travis sister said Travis is a good artist, so he could be doing the artwork that geller is doing

I hope they are careful with this. If we are potentially having three imaginary characters can cross over the line past the strange to jumping the shark

Maybe but the writers have been pretty good at taking this show through a ton of twists and turns, really the show has been really steady in terms of quality from the start. It was hard to outdo the first season, I'm not sure they ever have but they've done a really good job through 5 seasons plus. This does seem to be the point where shows start to take that turn though......so we'll have to wait and see. I do like the whole religion angle this year and Dexter's Brother appearing seemed kind of unexpected but at the same time very natural at the end of the episode. Not sure if anyone reads the books so I don't want to spoil things for them but his brother is a lot different in the books and it adds something to them for me.

Dexter was let down for me tonight. It felt really random and out of place. I wish there was more Brian during this season but it seems like a 1 and done situation. I am also all but positive Geller is not real. When the girl explain what happened, she said Travis said everything and did not mention anything the professor said. She was blind folded so she thought there was two people there because Travis split personality.

imo, what i feared happened. but as Nabo says, its probably only for one episode.

brian eating sandwiches and Harry hitchhiking on the side of the road was really testing the boundary, imo. i wasn't crazy about the subplots (motel guy, trinity's son) either

one thing i did like was the choice for Dexter to go on his brother's path: kill who and when you want as a way to truly live. if you get caught...oh well. you lived your life to the full. or dexter can continue on the path to some kind of redemption.

like a lot of the best parts of Dexter, this is an exaggeration of real world life choices we all have to face and hits them right at their core, clarifying them

I thought the episode was a little bit filler, but it was nice that they appeared to muddle the question of Gellar interacting with real world items and possibly being a "passenger" by brian eating, etc.. The part I really liked was Brian(Dexter) explaining to himself and us that even though its ritual, the part he loves about the kill is seeing the light go out in their eyes. Gives a little bit more to his methods of waking them up other than just explaining to his prey why they are being killed.

So I am 99% sure Geller is dead. Also I think Laguerta is covering up for Quinn. Noticed Quinn was not at the scene and hes on this rock bottom state... Either that or she is covering for Matthews

They showed and have done several things that would refute Gellar being dead, for one, a death cert shouldn't be that hard for Miami Metro to dig up. I sometimes think they are trying to be funny tho on purpose. The line to paraphrase, when Gellar rolls out the piece of paper to travis... " Do you know how awesome this will be if we can just get a good whore." I was rolling.

the odd thing is that Dexter says that Travis' dark passenger is real and can be killed. strange way to throw us off the scent. so travis killed his sister and then chained himself? its possible i suppose

I think it HIGHLY likely that Gellar is dead. Gellar stated to travis that the reason why they had to kill his sister is because she talked to the police. Who was the only person shown seeing her talk to Deb? Travis. Also how Gellar just randomly appears makes me believe he is a hallucination also.

wow what a twist, what a tiwst! WOW!

haha wow I can't believe they showed at the end of the episode ways they tried to fool the audience that Geller was not real... It was obvious since the beginning that Geller was not real... come on dexter. Glad its out of the way though. What a waste. If you seen fight club you figured it out. If you never then you may have been surprised.

I'm gonna go ahead and say I called it first! (LOL post #14)

I'm actually kinda bummed about this. What a mediocre season of one my favorite shows. The only real storyline I'm now interested in is Masuka's intern and his collections.

i was very skeptical of it. its strange because travis seems surprised with himself each time for what he does.

Which IMO points to the fact that he may be suffering from schizophrenia or Brandon Marshall disease.

Good call Firesole. Like season one and the ice truck killer, it was a bit of a softball, and we were supposed to be considering it. My hope is that there will be another great twist that blindsides us tho.

Travis was like oh there he is, dexter didn't see him but the way they filmed it, they wanted you to think that he did.

I'm glad Dexter gave in at the end. I didn't like him being so obsessive. He started by only killing murders who escaped justice. He didn't even want to kill Brian and Miguel but they left him no choice. Lately, however, he's seemed to be going out of his way to dispense his own justice, and allowing himself to get personally pulled in a little too easily. I still enjoyed the past few seasons, but I would like to return to the former style. I can actually sympathize with Dexter when he's not always preventing his department from actually putting people in jail. I hope this is a sign of things to come and not just a temporary thing.

I doubt show will go there but latest previews show deb and dexter possible romantic interest. I don't think they will do it but ya just what previews suggest.

I could see Deb developing feelings, maybe. With all of this introspection in therapy she has come to realize the only stable force in her life is her step brother, however misguided that notion is. With her prior relationships and the people she has feel in love with, why not another twisted one.

Likely next killer, because the way that dexter bashed his game, he probably feels maybe time to stop making games about killers and time to become one. Take things to a real world basically.

I am sorry but the Deb loves Dexter arc is stupid and awkward. I know they are not real brothers/sisters but it still awkward. Something big has to happen next episode. They cant have Travis kidnap Harrison, Dexter saves him, kills Travis and Dexter goes off into the sunset. Batista's sister is all but dead imo.

goodness, they make Deb out to be in worse mental shape than the serial killing main character that sees dead people. she is literally losing her mind and completely helpless without a man in her life. oh and the therapist is a pervert lol

Well I think its natural that pretty much all characters in the show would be more messed up emotionally than a sociopath, who is delusional, and that is void of feelings. However I have found myself wanting to fast foward the scenes with the therapist for a multitude of reasons. Worst scenes of the series that i can remember personally.

I can see Harrison being killed off, but I dont think they will do that. I thkn that in the course of two different seasons having 2 out of the only 3 people that Dexter has an attachment to, is too much. It's possible if they want to kind of "reset" the show back to what made it popular in the first place, but not likely IMO.
