Yeah, stopping the 2012 solar flare was the point from the beginning. The Templars are the obstacle in modern times not because they want to control humanity by launching a Piece of Eden onto a satellite, but because they have no clue about the solar flare and they're going to actively obstruct the Assassins while they're trying to stop it. I thought that was a good plot twist.

I wish they'd focus on the other Pieces of Eden in the games, though. They mentioned other PoEs like the Sword, the Shroud, and the Papal Staff in passing, but there are like three known Apples (the one in Masyaf's vault, the one destroyed in Denver, and the one under the Colosseum now with the Assassins) and it's getting silly.

You know you've finished the main story when Desmond falls into a coma and can't leave the Animus. (It's been a year, folks, the statue of limitations on this spoiler has lapsed. Also, Aerith dies.) The last mission, IIRC, is the Siege of Viana where Ezio throws Cesare Borgia off the castle walls. Then you can play the DLC where Ezio helps Columbus launch his expedition, rescues da Vinci from the Cult of Pythagoras, and helps Copernicus publish his astronomical observations.

The Pythagoras DLC is important because it sets up the ending of Revelations.

Yes, that was the ending. Desmond becomes catatonic and they have to put him back in the Animus to keep him from becoming a total vegetable. Revelations begins immediately after that.

I'm guessing you didn't play the DLC.

That was my hope for the franchise also. maybe its something they will explore in AC3. It already appears that Desmond and crew are at the location of the temple. Maybe he will need to retrieve whats left of the apples, or at least locate them, in order to activate whatever the temple holds.

I recall some Leonardo quests, based on his machines, but I don't recall needing to look for him specifically. How do I play that quest line?

Not all the Pieces of Eden are Apples. But the Apples seem to be the ones the games focus on.

Buy The da Vinci Disappearance DLC from XBL or the PS Store, then pop in Assassin's Creed Brotherhood and load the memory sequence from the DNA menu.

Wasnt Subject 16 directly related to "Adam" in the truth video from AC2 too? Thats how we saw the memory of them running after capturing the glyphs he hacked into the animus? Or is Desomnd also related to Adam and eve also?

Clay is only known to be a descendant of Altaïr and Ezio. But if he's a descendant of them, then he probably has a high concentration of First Civilization DNA, and so he's probably a descendant of Adam and Eve also, yes. Desmond is too, and because Desmond is considered a more "special" person than Clay, Desmond is probably also descended from a greater number of people with First Civ DNA than Clay. If the Animus comes into play in AC3, then we'll probably play as one of those ancestors. Hopefully it involves the French Revolution.

That would be beneficial to the conversation, yes.

The da Vinci Disappearance is something like 8 missions long, which is pretty decent for the price. And the resulting events tie straight into the ending of AC Revelations, so it's worth playing through if you're going to bother with AC3 at all.

So am I the only person who’s beaten the game? This thread is pretty inactive considering how much people liked Brotherhood. I know Skyrim is available, but Ezio > dragons.

Anyone have a favorite moment in the game, at least?

    Killing Abbas. Like a boss.

Hard to specify a single moment. I would say every one of Altiair segments, especially the 4th one.

Gamestop is running a promo: trade in Revelations by January 14 and you’ll get $30 in credit. That’s not actually bad, considering how Gamestop’s trade-in values are complete and utter ripoffs. My guess? The game sold fantastic, the earlier games sold well months after release, and Gamestop wants higher profit margins by having an army of used copies ready to go when the post-release purchases stream in.

I was hoping we'd actually get to see Malik, instead of Altair casually saying that Abbas killed him.

Read The Secret Crusade. Revelations basically animates (and alters to some extent) some of the scenes from that book without elaboration on the details.

Altaïr, Maria, and Darim (the son conceived in 1195 in the bleeding effect scene from AC2) go east for 10 years to kill Genghis Khan. (Qulan Gal fired the arrow that killed Genghis Khan's horse from underneath him, Darim fired the kill shot, so this is sort of a retcon of AC2, where credit for the assassination is given fully to Qulan Gal.) Malik is left in charge of the Assassin Order during that trip. Abbas stages a coup by ordering the killing of Sef, Altaïr's second son who stayed behind because he had a family, and blaming Malik for it. Altaïr returns 2 years later and hears the story, doubts what happened, and stealths into the Masyaf prison. Malik tells him what really happened and Altaïr stealths him out and into his room. The morning after, Altaïr and Maria go to confront Abbas, but the guy who really killed Sef kills Malik and brings his head in a sack during the conversation between Abbas and Altaïr.

There's really no way to render that in the Animus or in the Masyaf key memories since Altaïr wasn't around for those events.

I beat the game the other night, I thought it was great, I do think Brotherhood barely edges out ACII as the best in the series so far IMO.

    I thought
The last Altair sequence was touching and well done.

There really are no more stories to tell with either Altair or Ezio, espceially since both of them die(well Ezio dies in Embers)
I dont think a new ancestor could out do them.

I do have a couple of questions though
They werent really clear if Jupiter was talking to Desmond through Ezio or somehow Jupiter was talking to Desmond directly, and how would Ezio know he had to relay one more message from a FC to Desmond?

I'm sure it is. But I have such a back load of games that I have no reason to pay full price even if it is worth it. I still haven't even started Brotherhood!

Ezio's monologue right before Jupiter appears is about how he finally understands that he's "a conduit for a message" (paraphrasing). At that point, he's figuring, "Oh, another Apple. More Desmond stuff. This wasn't really meant for me." I mean, the Apple even projects an image of Desmond for Ezio to look at.

What's happening in that specific scene is that Ezio is wrapping up his dialog about messages, an image of Desmond appears, and Ezio is urging Desmond to "now, listen", as in, "listen to the message here." Ezio isn't introducing Jupiter intentionally, it just so happens that Ezio is being dramatic at a moment when the memory ends. Just as that memory ends, Desmond is returned to the sync nexus, and Jupiter pops in.

Here's how the AC Wiki describes that scene:

Any guesses what time period next game takes place in? The ending of Brotherhood did hint at the French Revolution.

I'm actually not sure if there'll be a new time period. At some point we have to play as Desmond for the majority of a game. Since Ubisoft has already said that AC3 concludes "Desmond's story" (read: "this franchise is really successful and even though this was just planned as a trilogy no way are we closing the door on a potential AC4") it stands to reason he's going to be front and center.

    Then again…

I'd imagine it's possible that AC3 opens with Desmond and company exploring the master vault (in Turin, NY; really? Noo Yawk is the key to salvation? They're screwed!), then globetrotting to the various sub-vaults to retrieve Pieces of Eden, with Animus sessions during transit. So the various vaults act as the platforming segments, and we get a new historical setting in between the Desmond segments, sort of the opposite of ACR.

We'll find out this year, though. AC3 is coming out for Christmas. Hopefully the Mayans were wrong and we can play it before the end of the world.

    Embers was awesome.

The guy at the end isn't meant to be anyone in particular, though one could make a case that he's Death visiting Ezio.

Considering that Ezio is the only one who acknowledges him, you can ceratinly make that argument, also: what was in the box?

I wouldn't say Ezio was the only person who acknowledged him, mainly because the guy had already left when Ezio had his heart attack. I believe I read somewhere that Ubisoft said the guy isn't anyone in particular, they just used him to illustrate how Ezio's character had changed since the very beginning of AC2.

As for the box, no one knows what's in it. It could be revealed in an AC spinoff game, or in AC3, or it could just be left alone and never mentioned again.

Iiiiinteresting. Looks to be Abstergo-focused like the multiplayer plot arc.

I wonder how this will tie in with AC3. The Da Vinci Disappearance was pretty big in that regard.

It seems like Ubisoft is following a pattern here.

The Davinci DLC was announced in February.

    It came out in March.

    ACR was unveiled around April/May.

I am guessing we'll see a trailer and official announcement for the DLC in the next few weeks.

Oh and ACIII comes out on October 30th.
I'm a little suprised they're not releasing the game on 12/21/12 but people would probably be too busy rioting and looting that day.
