I just want to say...I've been lurking this board for weeks. And it's a awesome place. .... I've been watching the Miami games live or on DVR since Moore has started. (to be fair, got Directv after Henne went down, Dad wanted Sunday Ticket) This is just a talented team. Currently better than the Carolina Panthers, who just honestly need to fix ST and D. Miami...Sprano seems nice...but needs to go. Slight fix to the running game and even with Moore starting this can be a playoff team. ... But, even though I'm a big fan of Matt Moore, it's hard to say he can be a long term starter for Miami. I can see him as the long term #2 QB for Miami, and I think he would sign to be the back up here if he was offered only a back up job. He wanted to stay in Carolina...didn't matter if he was starting or not. I do hope Moore keeps playing good the rest of the way and is at least given the chance to earn the starting job in preseason next year. Matt Moore reminds me of a younger Delhomme. ..Kinda. Both have that gunslinger vibe, but more so Delhomme. Delhomme in a way was a poor man's Favre.
Thanks for the kind words, and welcome. I agree. Moore has it in him to be one of the best backups, if not the best in the NFL. A bottom-tier starter-caliber backup. But still a backup. Yesterday's game showed that he doesn't have what it takes to step it up with perfect throws when the game is on the line. Several throws he made, including one behind the receiver in the back of the end zone that cost us a touchdown (and likely the game), are the difference between a starter and a backup.
