Yep. Seattle is 5-7 now and will definitely win a few more. I can't see Miami winning six or seven games.

That's good news for us. Since we can't have luck, i'm ok with Barkley

It's very good for us that the Seahawks and Broncos are winning games. We could also root for Cleveland and Arizona as well (both 4-7).

The Philadelphia loss also helped Miami's Strength of Schedule, which is the first tiebreak for draft standing. I think we're now at 0.520 where Jacksonville is at 0.494 and Carolina is 0.511.

Not that it matters as I think Carolina will win more games. Firing your Head Coach usually gets a good response out of a team so Jacksonville could win a game or two after firing Del Rio. However, I think Del Rio was fired for benching Blaine Gabbert, and if the new coach has a directive that Blaine continues to play no matter what, that could mean they just keep on losing.

I could see Miami ending up picking right around #4 with the #2 and #3 teams not really needing QBs. In that scenario I'm starting to wonder about whether we should trade up or stay put. Staying put would be a gamble. But as I was thinking about it, Matt Flynn is going to go somewhere in Free Agency and whoever takes him is not going to trade up for Barkley. I don't know for sure where he'll go but I think Cleveland makes a lot of sense. If that happens, that would remove our top competitor for Matt Barkley, IMO. Seattle could move up but they're getting more and more out of range, and they still get to play St. Louis and Arizona. They could be 7-9 before all is said and done...and do they really have the ammunition to move from something like #12 or #14 to #2 or #3?

As for Washington, unless Mike Shanahan is fired, I don't think you worry about them. Matt Barkley isn't Shanahan's kind of quarterback. Shanahan likes mobility, and Matt is pretty mobile, but he's not got the great athleticism you'd see in a Jay Cutler, nor does he have that big arm of Cutler. Shanahan likes to stretch every inche of the field. He's always been that way. He prefers the John Elway/Jay Cutler to a Brian Griese/John Beck. I think Ryan Tannehill is much more his cup of tea.

I think Miami is going to get Matt Barkley, one way or another. Steve Ross wants a guy like him and I think he'll put pressure on his front office to make it happen. But he also might make some kind of attempt to make Andrew Luck happen. Hard to envision that since it appears the Colts are willing to go 15 rounds in whatever staring match could ensue if Andrew decides he doesn't want to play for them...but if there's a possibility of it, Steve Ross will be looking for that possibility. He knows that finding a way to draft Andrew Luck would PACK the stadium full of fans. It would be a huge revenue boost, IMO.

And quite frankly, I still don't consider Cleveland to be that big of a threat. That team has a lot of skill position holes, especially if Hillis leaves. I can see them waiting on a QB if the draft class turns out to be as deep as it might.

I think they will make the playoffs with Barkley or whomever in the top 5 of QB's. This is mainly because of the kind of receivers we have right now. Plus if Clyde Gates continues to develop, we will become even more dangerous at WR. If possible, we should keep Daboll at OC. He is starting to look good and I think the sky is the limit for what this offense can become.

There's also the chance that we end up winning a few more games though, I think this weekend will tell us which way to it goes, if we lose I think maybe Tony is fired and Reid's teams always play well with more time to get ready. If we win though... we could win every game the rest of the year except in New England. That puts us at 7-9(ironic) but I agree, I think Ross knows he needs to get a QB and I think he'll do what ever it takes to do that, double if Jeff is kept. In fact I'm sure that will be part of what keeps jeff around, him promising to trade up and get a QB.

No way we go 7-9. If things keep progressing, I could see 6 wins, 5 more likely. But you're right, this weekend is the key game.

But, even if it's just one more win, please let it be vs the Jets

Not sure if this is good or bad news, i have a problem with USC qb's, they look all good in college but turn out to be busts in the NFL! (Leinart, Booty, Sanchez)

True, Palmer was really good and still has something in the tank, too bad that his injury really hurt his career!

Barkley would be a good selection for the Dolphins, but if both Barkley and RG111 are on the board when the Dolphins make their selection in the first round, I hope the Dolphins pick RG111. I think RG111 will end up having a much better NFL career than Barkley. Just my opinion.

i just hope Ireland does get fired because we all know that Ireland will screw up the draft next year too you can bet on that. we need to lose most of our remaining games so we can mabe trade down and get more skill players and acouple of ofensive tackles and a dt .

You won't get Barkley. Dolphins draft position is looking pretty bad right now.
