When he said ''Baylor just won themselves a heisman''........ He say's it was taken out of context, meant it to be about his team, and I agree with his intention.. His interview on first take was impressive..Intellectual swagger, damn. He's got to be a huge target of ours.. I said this the other day, no matter what we all think of him, and how his skillset will translate to the next level, and we all will have our opinions i'am sure, but, no matter where you stand, I wouldn't be able to understand how someone would not allow themselves to just be excited about the possibilities of the total skillset this kid is bringing to the table...He's just a good bet, even if you lose.
Seems like a good kid. Always says the right things and always wants to talk about the team, not himself. I guess we never really know what is behind those words, but I don't get that 'he rapes kittens in his spare time' feeling from RG3 that I do when I listen to Tebow. I think RG3 may be genuine.
Careful about comparing him to Cam Newton just because they share a skin tone. It's a trap all of us can easily fall into, and not because we're subconsciously racist or anything. We also do the same with white WRs, RBs, etc. On the flipside, it was wrong for Cam Newton to be compared so frequently to Jamarcus Russell.
Me personally, just reading that comment, it translate to me as "It is all about the team". I do not see how it could be taken out of context, in my opinion.
What would you all do if we selected RG3 and Denard Robinson with our first 2 picks... What would be your initial reaction?, and what type of lethal offense could you design with RG3, Reggie Bush, Denard Robinson, Brandon Marshall, Davone Bess skillsets..?? Wow..with all the signs that were seeing about the ''continued evolvement'' of the wing T and wildcat principles, would this lineup excite you? now I would be just as excited with Kendall wright in there, but thats a different offense than this one.. Just havin fun here..
Comment seems pretty arrogant to me. Trying to justify it and play word games now, "out of context" yeah sure. Seems like he was saying his team played well enough to help him earn the heisman. Because that's all he needed, apparently, he's so good. You guys sugar coating this? I don't like him already.
I am basing my opinion off this thread only. I don't know the whole story so if there's more than "Baylor just won themselves a heisman", it's not in this thread.
I meant it more from the standpoint that my understanding of his game (I haven't watched him play) is he is not only a mobile quarterback, but one hell of a passer. Completes a high percentage of his passes. Also he tends to dominate in the games he plays, like Cam.
lol When I heard it live... I took it as meaning the team just put together a hell of a performance and won a hiesman. Thats how it came off initially. I didnt even realize people were taking it the other way...
I would punch whoever our GM is right in the face. Seriously. I really like RG3, but we better not waste our 2nd round pick on Robinson.
With the needs we have....why would we draft Denard Robinson in the 2nd round? I'm not even in favor of drafting him at all.
I would love to draft this kid but as long as we keep winning are chances at barkley or him are slipping away with each win.At this rate we are going to be picking in the middle of the pack just like every other year Quoted you by mistake i am talking griffin not robinson.
problem is the Dolphins are playing themselves out of getting any of these QB's! 7-8 wins will screw us big time!
<facepalm> I'm glad you're not a profiler for the FBI or anything. Even if he IS talking about himself, he's doing so in a playful, confident manner, not an arrogant one. Please learn the difference between the two when attempting to "read" a person. Carry on.
I'd take him in the 3rd round if he were there. You immediately have a game-changing return guy in the Devin Hester mold, and you have a greater offensive x-factor than Dexter McCluster IMO.
Which is ridiculous............. because 6'3 is clearly more appropriate for an Ed McCaffrey comparison.
Lord have mercy. Only you, Dorf, would consider winning 7 or 8 of our final 9 games a problem. "Screw us"? Going 7-2 or 8-1 over the final 9 games does not, I repeat, DOES NOT screw us for next year. You realize the progression of the team itself is more significant than the QB position alone? A crappy team with a high 1st round QB is worse off than a good team with a mid 1st round QB (or Matt Moore).
since when is arrogance a bad thing in a athlete? All the best ones are arrogant as hell, and if they don't show it, they are hiding it really well.
