You're not the only one who does this. I maybe order 1 item a year at Dolphins games.

Right now he's looking at more money and living in Miami vs St. Louis. Anyone ever been to St. Louis?

He'd be a king in Miami

I could be completely wrong here but I'm not sure that it's legal for them to do that. Again I could very well be wrong but it's my understanding that anything done overseas in terms of licensing, merch sold etc goes into a MLB fund and is split evenly throughout all 30 MLB teams, the only thing teams can get revenue on is any advertising done. The reason why I say this is when the Red Sox won the bid and signed Matsuzaka there was all this talk about how much extra revenue they would receive do to merchandise sold and TV rights etc but they didn't gain anything extra other than a few advertisement deals at their ballpark and on their TV station. Again I could be wrong but I don't think this is totally true here.

Just use the Jests fans for that. Works just as well, if not better.

I think you might be wrong, because they openly "hint" at it all the time, and there are media members that are matter of fact-ly reporting it.

And again, the Mariners did it with Japan when they signed Ichiro. It's been done before.

We're going to have the Latin market with the signing of Pujols and Reyes. Crazy.

The Mets were trying to do it last year but the TV stations balked at their efforts. So why try it in the first place if it's not legal?

Maybe TV deals are fine, but I'm almost positive that any merchandise or licensing money made overseas gets put into one big MLB pot and is evenly distributed among the 30 teams.

I believe WEEI (Boston radio station) had an article about this a few months ago I will try to search for it when I get the chance.

EDIT: I searched for a half hour and couldn't find the article I was talking about, I guess we'll see in time if they can or can't.

Oh that Hanley....shame on the Marlins for not consulting you first...

Red Sox listen up, you can probably get him by giving away another of your "highly touted" pitching prospects....

Ozzie Guillen was just on with LeBatard and he said that story is bull**** and Hanley today was tweeting about a "New Big Three". I don;t think he was thinking Hanley, Big Papi and Ellsbury.

Ken Rosenthal is hinting that it is a DONE DEAL.

Marlins brass is meeting with commissioners office. Only time teams meet with commish office during meetings is for clarification on contract matters.

Ken Rosenthal says that the guy they met with is the guy in charge of collective bargaining and contract language.

    SO Loria lied.

The same person who reported Reyes to be a done deal in Miami a couple of days before it was announced just tweeted that Pujols is staying in St. Louis. Just herd it on air...

Not a confirmed legit source just passing on what was said

to be fair to that guy..Everybody knew Reyes was a done deal much longer than that.

They met with Dan Halem. He is in charge of contract language and collective bargaining. Think about that. It is a done deal.

@Ken_Rosenthal: Sources: Meeting between #Marlins and Dan Halem of commissioner's office was indeed about matters relating to possible Pujols contract. #MLB

As much as I want this to happen, it is hard to see the Cards are going let him go. He is an icon and possibly the best player St. Louis has ever had. That speaks volumes considering the ones who've played there.

There isn't much more they can do. They have had a 200 mil dollar deal on the table for a while and he has yet to take it. It's up to Albert.

Of course it was. Why would they talk to the guy in charge of contracts if it was related to the SEC?

They’re probably trying to figure out how to structure the deal.
