So, I'm on the Sun-Sentinel site, and I see a link to an interview that Heath Evans, ex-Phins fullback, did. So, when asked about an example of something he shook his head at during the Saban era, well... http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/...mi-dolphins-jeno-20111207,0,2125799.htmlstory For those unable to listen to the audio, basically, Jeno James was collapsed on the floor, puking and with his eyes rolled to the back of his head. So, Evans and a few other players carried him to a hallway, having to place him there because he was that heavy. So, Saban walked around the corner, and instead of checking on Jeno James and wondering what is going on with him, he steps over him and keeps walking. I mean, seriously?
Ah, lil nicky, he belongs in the cesspool that is college football, it suits him like a fish in water. What I thnk is funny is, Sparano is a better NFL coach then he was, this in spite of, the media and a few fanboys kissing his nicktator arse.
He was awful to everyone in that organization. Especially support staff. All of the weird, terrible, outlandish stories you heard are true. Players were about the only folks who didn't get **** on. Or so I thought. Never knew he pulled stuff like that with them. POS.
Satan = failure as an NFL coach. He couldn't hack it and left with nothing but a bad reputation as a top level Head Coach. He had no ambition to be the best instead taking the easy way out. Good for him, at least he knows he couldn't cope. Bet he looks at the Harbaughs and is jealous as hell. He should be. To me he's a failure.
To reiterate, his best offensive lineman collapses after the first day of 2-a-days in our notorious late July heat. Vomiting and convulsing. Eyes rolled back. They were struggling to get him to the training room. They thought he might die. He ended up being trauma-hawked to the hospital. And Saban's eventual explanation to the team was "the captain of the ship can never show fear or indecision". **** you, buddy.
What a piece of work. I think he's an incredible coach, but every time I hear about how he treated people when he was here, I'm am so glad he is gone.
You can here the entire interview here. Click on Heath Evans interview in the Interview section. He's always good. http://www.790theticket.com/jorgesedano.aspx
POS...He really is.. Ive said it before and I'll say it again, Him and Parcells have got something comin for'em one day...mmmmm, I don't trust myself...somebody needs to check them man.
I'd love for this to go rampantly public b/c there are some big linemen recruits on Clemson's radar who might appreciate knowing Saban dislikes heavy people.
Toddsphins I completely agree with you . dont you guys remember a member of the front office compliment Saban on his haircut and that person was rebuked heavily . the more i hear about Little Hittler the angrier I get.
Your boy Dabo needs to get his act together. While the Tigers historically have beaten the Gamecocks, His Tigers are known for late season collapses and Losing to South Carolina.
Little Nicky Satan HAD to return to college, in the NFL his likelihood of a player kicking the **** out of him was a pretty sure bet at some point in time.
I just threw up a little.. I am ashame that that POS ever coached in state of Michigan...then to coach the Phins..uuuugghh.
If his team weren't so young & inexperienced, I'd be worried. If a late season (or any time of season) collapse happens next year, then I definitely will be worried. At least Dabo helped Clemson regain their focus against a VT team that was playing at a higher level than when we met them earlier in the year, so that's a little reassuring. Boyd spoke about the team taking a few teams lightly, which is a big mistake when you're now the team with a constant bullseye on your back, and they got their butts whipped for it....... but it was a much-needed learning experience. SC's really had our number the past few years in all sports.
Like we needed more proof that this guy was a complete doosh! I don't care how good a college coach he is, the man is a doosh through and through.
Honestly we should collect these stories. What are some other stories about how he treated the staff? I know the one where a secretary or someone like that complimented his hair cut in the elevator and then out comes a memo that nobody is to speak to Nick Saban unnecessarily.
I'll say this.... The day he high-tailed it to Bama, the message I got was, "this building is 5 feet off the ground." That's how happy they were to see him go. He'd made them miserable for 2 years.
As bad as his quitting on the team was, as bad as his lying to fans/media, as bad as he treated the other employees of the fins the worst thing he did was make some blunderous (is that a word ?) personnel moves setting the franchise back even further than Wanny did ( and that's saying a lot). I mean how bad do you have to be in personnel acquisition to make Wanny not look as bad ?? At any rate, as a long time Bama fan, I'm glad for the success we've had, but he'll likely quit on them too when times get lean, it's just a matter of time...
I am still trying to verify the timeline that Evan's is claiming happened. I am mostly interest in the time he specified of the team meeting 10:30pm of the same night. I could verify that James collapsed after a night practice. Verified here: http://mia.scout.com/2/413494.html Then Evan's claims that during the same night Saban holds a team meeting and spouts something about captian of the ship and fear etc. etc. According to this article Saban arrived at the hospital 45 minutes after James did and stayed there until 12:15am. Here: http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports...phin-heath-evans-rips-nick-saban-2019071.html So Saban had to have the team meeting before he went to the hospital that night. So I am just trying to figure out what time practice ended to see if it was even possible for Saban to have called that team meeting. To be clear I am not trying to disprove Evan's claim about Saban stepping over James. I am just trying to figure out the timeline. Anyone remember what time those practises started or ended?
It's not REALLY named the Nick Saban Memorial Bubble. That's just the name the media guys use as a sort of tongue-in-cheek joke. They all hated him too.
I dunno, I don't blame him for leaving or lying about it. Its a free country he can leave if he wants to. He also would have been equally crucified if he told the truth, because they would have said in the middle of the season he was talking about leaving. I can't completely discredit his personnel moves, because we never got to see a lot of those players get experienced in his system. But treating people like **** is inexcusable.
We never got to see a lot of those players anywhere else either, because they just weren't very good.
Saban is a douche and that Jeno James incident is disturbing, and I'm glad he's gone...but that hair cut story is hilarious. Could you imagine getting that memo? I can see him stuffing his face with Little Debbies while writing it up.
