I have a interview today over the phone with a manager in Orlando (I am currently in Charlotte NC). I have done these "get to know you" things before, but I REALLY want this position. Any advice for nailing this phone interview from anyone whose given/recieved them? Thanks!

you are a radio guy, right? so you are probably not going to get flustered and you have some skill. if i had your experience i would incorporate a soundboard into the interview. Terminator, Superbad, Human Centipede

    you'll be fine :wink2:

Is this for a transfer with the same company or completely different job?

    wear a tie.

Seriously, play the part completely. Wear what you would if the interview was in person. Make the call in the quietest place you can find. Again, I know it sounds crazy, but maintain good posture like you would if you were face to face. Posture and costume are the keys to playing any part. We all play a part when we interview.

Yes! I wore my best dress shirt/tie combo today. Was totally coming into today ready to rock like it was a in person interview.

My current manager is letting my use her office so i can shut the door and be away from any potential interruptions with clients etc. I think i will be fine, just going to have my resume infront of me so if he asks a question I can get right to what he's looking at. With this being a introductory/first interview.....is it too much to have some questions for him? I have a list of ques.

    -hours
    -training available?
    -coaching opp?
    -incentives?
    -growth opportunities?
-Can I listen to nickleback in the office

    etc.

Take notes, names dates things you can refer back to during the conversation. Will shoe you are paying attention and interested in the position.

Nope. Questions are always good. At the end they'll generally ask if you have any questions, that's when you ask them. You'll nail any interview where you can create dialogue, instead of just answering questions.

Not sold on the nickleback but do establish an environment of positive energy around your audible profile. Have a porn soundtrack playing sofly in the background. Also never be afraid to softly shush this person at the right moments.

make sure you show them how desperate you are. Tell them you have never slept with a man but are always open to new experiences. Also be sure to mention how you used to sell your body for your crack addiction.

Also, ask the person where they stand on abortions. When they answer, scream "Eewwwwwwwwwwwww, I'd never work for someone who stands on abortions. You sick freak!"

    Then demand a company car.

I pishaw at the both of you.

It is abundantly clear my advice about requesting a company car was the deciding factor. Your suggestions were nothing more than the forum equivalent of running around loopy with arms akimbo whilst hopped up on goofballs.
