What if all of the top QB's the Dolphins would/could draft were selected before it's time for Miami to select? What would happen? What you you do?

What would I do? I'd have a nice. stiff drink. I would hope the FO will take the best player available in that instance...or, preferably, would have already traded up to get one of the QBs.

Yeah, it's not out of the question that all 3 will be gone considering Washington, Cleveland (alot of ammo to move up), and potentially another QB starved team will end up picking ahead of us.

At that point, you HAVE to take BPA (as long as that's not someone on the DL, RB, or a C). We could use an upgrade at virtually any other position (T, G, WR, LB, CB, S). I'd hate to invest another 1st round pick in an offensive lineman, so hopefully there would be a good safety, pass rushing LB, or WR left on the board. Considering all of the talent at WR that will be coming out, that would probably be the best option there.

Not beyond the realm of possibility. It's not like the other NFL teams don't know very well what the Dolphin plans are in the draft, right? So teams that want a top QB will know they need to get ahead of Miami in the draft. If we end up around #6-8, I can see Luck, Barkley, and Griffin being GONE before we pick, with at least one team trading up past us to do it.

My first thought is that they need to decide if Barkley or Griffin is worth giving up additional picks for. We will need to move up to #2 or #3 to get them. That means at least throwing in our second rounder.

If they don't have the conviction that those guys are worth it, then you look to trade down in the first round to get another second rounder or a third and change. Then you decide if Landry Jones is worth a middle round pick? Or take the best OT/OLB/Safety left and then look at Weeden/Tannehill in the second round.

We can start Moore for a year while the rookie QB develops and even throw them into the starting role if we are out of playoff contention in 2012 if we get a second tier guy, but I'd expect to see the top 3 guys starting from day one (maybe not Griffin though).

The bottom line is that Miami needs to have a rookie QB they feel could be "the guy" from the 2012 draft. I'd rather they spend an extra pick to move up and make sure they get their guy. Otherwise we spin the wheels for yet another lost year.

Hire Sparano back, so I could fire him again.

    Call the Colts.

But we're not in any position to NOT be trading up if it looks that way. The Panthers do NOT need a QB so their pick is the most coveted this year.

Then you have to pull the trigger on Weeden as he will probabaly be a late 1st round to early 2nd round pick due to his age. So what if the talking heads say, we gotta start drafting QBs if we ever want to break the cycle.

why dont we just do this my peeps Take RB Richardson or trade up three spots take Blackmon and then take weeden then draft 2 offensive tackles and a og then take a safety .

we use Marshall and Hartline on the near side put blackmon in the slot put Bess next to blackmon and send Bess deep .

The reality is that Miami has to get one of the top three QB's or it won't matter who the Dolphins draft in the first round. I believe Luck, RG3, and Barkley are the only true franchise QB's in this draft. The rest of the QB's, Weeden, Tannehill, and the rest are all going to end up as career backups. If the Dolphins don't get one of the top three, they will continue to be a mediocre team until they eventually find a true franchise QB sometime in the future.

The Dolphins need to do whatever it takes to ensure they are able to select one of the top three QB's in this draft. If that means trading Vontae Davis, their first and second round picks in 2012 and 2013, so be it.
There is no other player in the entire draft who will make a major difference in the record of the Dolphins in the future, except for one of these three QB's.
