Not attempting to criticize Moore's down-field accuracy, but most of our pass catchers had very good YPC averages after the first 3 games too.

    After 3 games:
    Marshall - 15.35ypc
    Bess - 15.5 ypc
    Hartline - 17ypc
    Fasano - 18ypc

Our total QB'ing has given us the highest YPA (7.4) that we've had since 2008 (7.7).

I like Barkley a ton but all this means to me is that I am definitely willing to trade this years draft and next years draft if thats what it takes to get Luck. All the picks in the world dont = a franchise QB.

With this news, I think Luck goes #1 Overall, RGIII Top 5, Tannehill Top 10, and Weeden somewhere in Round 1. If Jones comes out I think he goes Top 20.

Tannehill moves up to Top 8 maybe Top 5, and Jones moves up to Top 15.

With as cheap as it is for rookie contracts now, QBs are going to go early and often from here on out. There's no real reason for them not to.

I figure we are going to need to be in the 3rd pick to land RG3. I wonder what it would take to get us there?

Right now, if I'm Stephen Ross, I get every ammunition I have for trade for the 1st pick ready. Cameron Wake, Jake Long, and 2x #1's if it gets me Andrew Luck.

Any odds yet on how soon we see the "Bad for Barkley" threads with Dolphin fans (cough, cough) hoping we go 0-16 in 2012 so we can get the #1 pick?

Riley Reiff/Marvin McNutt for 2012! Bring on the Hawkeyes! Personally, I think McNutt shoots up draft boards and winds up being a borderline 1st - 2nd round pick.

If it were up to me, I'd probably try to trade up for Luck if the price is right (two firsts and two seconds is what I'd give up, max). If that didn't pan out, just hope that Griffin III falls to us. And if that doesn't pan out, try to trade down a few spots to draft Tannehill or just stay put and draft BPA (whether that be Reiff, DeCastro, Floyd, Jeffrey, etc) and hope Matt Moore pans out. If he doesn't, there's always Barkley in 2013 I guess.

My idea of the best plan of attack will probably change by April though, no worries.

The Dolphins @ some point are going to have to take a risk if they want a championship-caliber QB.

man that was a clean hit by bethea, what a soft game this has become, anyways barkley stayin in school, might make me celebrate a win again, instead of being pissed anytime we lose draft position, i dont expect this front office to sell the farm to get luck

Damn it............Pissass....He wasn't my first choice, nor my 2nd, but the impact of him staying really punches us in the gut..

I don't understand these players mentality who stay in school when their top 10 picks, I know it sounds terrible to say,but I have no respect for it when your projected that high, you can always go back to school to get your damn diploma, if thats what its about.. but its not is it?? Imo, bottom line, your choosing fame over taking care of your family and your childrens family, for life, and when you have that chance in life to do just that, and you don't, personally, I don't have respect for the man who puts that precious chance on hold, not with the risks involved in this game..no, no way man..

Did anyone hear barkley say he just wanted to be a ''kid'' one more time?? like Leinart said a thousand times before he decided to go back to school?....I wanted no part of Leinart for those very comments, I could count up to 10 times where he used those words ''I'am just a kid, or its fun being a kid'' ...Maybe Little Mary Leinart influenced little Matty Barkley..

Well, I know I'am judging this man right now, but when you came from nothing, and you've seen that side of life, it just angers me to see someone deny the guranteed chance to take care of your family..

That being said, personally I'am not gonna talk about Matt Barkley anymore, nor am I gonna sweat it, or him ..This will give us the chance to seriously strengthen our roster with balance in mind, and with hi draft picks involved, if our Gm is talented, he can make this team compete next year with a great draft and free agency, Thats if MOORE FINISHES STRONG, if not, Then doubling up on the QB position becomes an option for me, Tannehill/Wilson sounds good to me if Moore doesn't finish strong..If he does, than maybe we can trade down a bit, pick up some more power in the draft, and still get Tannehill.

Matt Moore, your chance is now to be the man.{now I will do everything possible to try and get Luck, RG3 or a move on Manning if it presents itself}, but if those options are'nt available, I will support you, and no way, do I make a play for a Matt flynn, the Job will be yours next year if you play at the level you have..Not sure why Flynn is even being discussed..You'd have to commit long term to that guy, and that ain't happening.

If RG3 doesn't come out, we won't have to give up picks, so we use our intel to see where Tannehill will go, select that boy, build this freakin roster as strong as possible thru the draft and free agency, give Moore all the tools you can, have a strong offseason, and see what happens next year.

Honestly, if the other guys like RGIII and Landry Jones decided to stay in school another year, and Miami doesn't make a massive move, I'd just sit pat and get Courtney Upshaw. The guy is an absolute beast and could be plugged in opposite Wake to solidify the front seven. I think then you can make a move, if you want, to get back into the first round for a guy like Weeden. But, considering the scenario where Luck ends up in Miami (hey, Indy is about to beat Houston) doesn't happen, give me Courtney Upshaw.

Got to look at SOS%... which is up in the air. A lot can happen between now and the end of next week. whichever team has the lowest SOS % of those three wins.

Because only Jake Long can protect our QB. LT has overtaken WR as most overrated position in the league.

I'd drop Jake Long so fast for a franchise QB. The elite QB's in this league do not have elite LT's blocking for them. Nor do the good QBs. In fact, I think all the elite LT's are blocking crap QBs. Except Jake Long. Cuz Moore is aiiiite

The Colts aren't going to want Jake Long. They used their first round pick last year on an LT.
The Rams drafted their LT in the top of the 2nd last year.

The Vikings would be the only team out of the 3 that would consider trading for Long.

If we want to trade someone, why not some of the plethora of D-lineman this team currently posses.

  40. MrClean

Rodger Saffold hasn't done much to warrant being considered a long term solution for the Rams at LT. He allowed only 3 sacks during his rookie season but allowed 11 so far this year. Both years, PFF graded him very poorly. Though not quite down in Colombo territory. -12.4 last year and -14.7 so far this year.
