How many games has Minne won the past 2 years with Peterson?

IMO a stud defensive player who contributes to an elite defense will have a bigger impact for Miami than Richardson, which is why I'd take his teammate, Dre Kirkpatrick, instead.

Case in point, how many wins did Houston have in 2010 with Arian Foster blowing up teams? 6. They might double that total in 2011 thanks to an outstanding defense despite their offense missing key players all year.

How about Tenn with Chris Johnson? 6-10 in 2010; 8-8 in 2009 when he ran for 2k. Titans might make the playoffs this year with 7th ranked scoring D despite CJ having an off year.

2011 Jags with NFL's leading rusher, MJD? 4-11.
    2011 Eagles with NFL's 2nd leading rusher, McCoy? 7-8.
Rams have probably averaged 5 wins/season during Steven Jackson's career.

Personally, instead of an elite running back, I'd rather have an O-line that can protect the QB and allow us to successfully plug and play RBs with virtual ease.

They also had one of the best receivers in the league and one of the best defensive ends in the league. Plus to top it all off a pretty darn good quarterback.

So basically using the Texans, you do not need a great wide receiver, defensive end or a good quarterback either then.

ap was 1 game from the super bowl with old as dirt farve and the 49'ers have had Patrick Willis for awhile and they have sucked pretty bad till this year. It takes a team to win that is beside the point though we all know qb is the most important player to have but elway couldn't win a super bowl till he got td. It all goes to what style of football you want to play the ravens won a super bowl with Jamal Lewis running over fools and playing defense kinda how the steelers like to win them. Then you have the new age teams who like to pass colts, pats, saints, packers. Now the packers and pats have horrible defense but they get a lot of turnovers on defense so it makes up for it same way the saints made up for there defense the year they won it.

I don't think that Tannehill or Weeden will ever be more then backup QB's in the NFL. Therefore my view is that they aren't worth more then a fifth or sixth round pick, at best. For those who think these two might possibly become starters in the NFL, I imagine they see both these players as higher draft picks. My view of these two QB's may be different from some individuals on this forum, but that is what forums like this are all about to begin with.

As far as my view of Thomas. I was never high on him from the beginning. I thought he was a reach in the second round in the draft and nothing he has done this season has changed my mind. He played decently in two games this season and basically did nothing else the remainder of the season. He has yet to show he can stay healthy enough to even play in the NFL.

I realize my views don't always go along with many of the other members of this forum, but I really don't care. I look more at the players the Dolphins have put on the field in the last three years and I see a team which has gotten worst each years So I feel no pressure to defend the draft selections of Ireland. He has done an absolutely terrible job and the 19-28 record over these last three years proves this.

    Wha......

Have you ever taken the time to watch Brandon Weeden play?

The ONLY reason he isnt being talked about as a possible #1 pick is because of his age. If he was 22,23.....youd be hearing the Luck vs Weeden debates rage till the draft...

There is an inverse to that TP which team had:

    -#7 scoring Defense
    -Top 12 rated Qb
    -1,000 yd rusher

    And still lost 10 games?

The Houston Texans are having their best season ever, without much contribution from many of their star players. Out of 1028 offensive snaps through week 16, Andre Johnson has played 320 snaps. Mario Williams played only 225 defensive snaps. DeMeco Ryans has played 587 out of nearly 1000 possible defensive snaps. Matt Schaub will have missed the last 6 games and the playoffs when it's all said and done. I doubt many people would have expected them to have a winning record, much less make the playoffs, if it was known ahead of time those players would be so limited. Goes to show that it's a team game I guess...

Texans are better at running the ball then passing it, they are on the verge of having 2 1k rushers in Foster+Tate.

Then expect to trade out of the 1st round entirely. He will not be a 1st round pick.

Of course I have watched Weeden play in college. I take nothing away from him at the college level. He has done an excellent job this season. Of course he was also an excellent baseball player at the amateur level. It was when he reached the professional level in baseball that he didn't have what it takes to play at that level.

Right now Weeden is a man playing against boys in college. He also has the best wide receiver in college playing on his team. Once he starts playing at the professional level in football, I expect him to have about the same success he had when he played professional baseball, not much.

My opinion is that Weeden will not be a very good QB at the next level. You obviously think he is going to be a very effective starter for an NFL team. I respect your opinion, I just don't happen to agree with it. Fortunately Weeden is going to be drafted by an NFL team and we both will get to see how effective he ends up being as a QB in the NFL. I have certainly been wrong many times in my life and I might be wrong in my view of Weeden as a future NFL QB.

I guess we both will be able to look back in a few years and see if Weeden is a success or not.

    the poor house
why cant we just take Levy Adcock ot after we trade down 8 spots take Weeden and in five years we will need to draft another qb anyhow snd moreover we could take a defensive end with a extra pick and then go get a db like Markell Martin and te Wilson Youman who plays both sides of the ball .

We need to get more stud pass rushers... The chances of us getting a Quarterback that can go toe to toe with Brady is slim to none unless we can get Manning. We will go nowhere unless we can figure out a way to beat New England, rattling Brady seems to be the combination and I don't beleive we are too far away from building a superior defense. Offensively we need to solidify the offensive line, the other pieces are there to keep us competitive. We need defensive stops when the game is on the line!!!!

I'm a little worried that the way the prospects stack up, the BPA is going to be at a position that is not a good match for the Dolphins. Trading down is easier said than done, but maybe Miami can trade down just a couple spots in the first and pick up a mid round pick for their troubles.

I can totally see the Redskins signing Flynn. Never doubt the ability of Dan Snyder to foolishly piss away money at every turn.
That gives us a much better chance at drafting RGIII.

Someone that might be worth a look is Jason Campbell. With Palmer entrenched in Oakland, I doubt that they would put a tag on him. His numbers have never been outstanding, but I think in the proper situation he could be a decent starting QB.
