Anyone know Marino's "air yards" in 1984?

In 1984 you could still hit quarterbacks and get away with some contact on receivers. In today's game you can't touch anyone. Brees set the record playing a 7 on 7 drill.

Very accurate. Anyone that claims Marino had a good running game or defense in '84 clearly didn't watch it first hand or has no understanding of football.

Lets not forget the rule changes and how they affected the game this is a great accomplishment by Brees but is not the same.
Today you can't touch receivers after 5 yards and the QB is really protected, I like to see Brees take the hits the QBs took in 84,
the D take 4 steps after the ball was released and hit the QB no penalty.
There should be an asterisk after Marino's record

D Thomas doesn't have a QB like Marino.
The Fins in those days could never run the ball or stop the run.
