Sean Smith, Brandon Marshall, Channing Crowder, Ted Ginn, Chad Henne, etc. There are always some players who attract an unfair amount of bashing from a percentage of the fan base.

I like Sean Smith as a football player. However, he's been benched MULTIPLE times for violating team rules. Last year alone, he was benched against the Bills, the Falcons and Oakland.

We didn't play the Falcons last year...and he didn't start the first 7 games because Jason Allen was really good in camp...then Allen decided to fall down a lot. I'm not sure what the circumstances of the Oakland game were...but I'd be willing to wager that Vontae has had a few more team rules issues than SS has.

Then he was benched against the Falcons 2 years ago.

As for the beginning of 2010, he was benched due to immaturity. He even admitted it: http://blogs.palmbeachpost.com/thed...iami-dolphins-cb-sean-smiths-growing-process/

Nope...he started that game..he was actually starting before Vontae. It was opening day.
And good for him for owning up to why he didn't see a snap in the buffalo game opening day last year, but he played significantly every game there after until he regained his starting job.

My point is, the bashing of him and his play are a bit absurd. I guess he'll be the new popular target for many of us...

    the poor house
well I guess maybe we better bring back Randy McMichael so he can box Jason Taylor's ears and put a big knot on Sean Smith's head (kidding )

Jason Taylor was labeled as a orrerated deffensive end who made no imact in which miami did not wiin one single marque game while jason was with miami. the 1360 the ticket radio host were bashing the dolphins this morning and were belittling Jason's accomplishments.

was Jason Taylor a overrated de ? I think two butt clowns on the radio were big dallas homers , but still It pissed me off to here them down play Jason 's success .

the media is sure down playing Miami as a orginaztion even the 72 dolphins are getting treated like crap. So I think its past time for Miami to start winning meaningful games and start getting some stud players and right now the media keeps saying Miami is going nowhere.

I wishes Miami would rise up and win a big time game .

this is why i hate living in such a a anti Miami area.

As for Sean Smith let him tweet all he wants this is America after all.

Well it's easier right now to bag Sean Smith than to compliment him, I still think he has a good upside and with some work can be a great corner, but right now he's going to need to put some effort in.

Moving Smith to safety is the worst idea ever. He is not physical enough.
    That has already been decided.

I would never start a thread to bash a player in a roundabout way.
Even when I was a noob at this board. Always said how I feel.

I didn't start a thread to bash Sean Smith, it just turned into that. And honestly all I said was what I felt about him, and it's only bashing to you because you don't agree with it. I have said Sean Smith does a good job against deep routes and slants, and I felt he could do better at FS, and you disagreed and said he isn't physical enough which is my main gripe with Sean Smith.

I remember when I was a little kid, and my gramma told me she was going to box my ears if I didn't get back to work whitewashing the fence. I never knew for sure what she meant but was too scared to ask her, so just tried to whitewash faster and get it done. Golly that fence seemed a mile long back then for an 8 yr old kid. Can you tell me what it means to box someone's ears?

I thought the law was pretty tough there in in Oklahomy and am surprised you can still find milf weed to buy there.

One thing I'll say for Smith this season, at least he's out there answering the bell. While he may have slumped coverage wise, he is 2nd to Bell in total snaps 1054 to 1027. For coverage snaps he leads the team with 631 to Bell's 589 being the next most. Smith's 5 TDs allowed though is tied though for 12th most among all corners.
