This is the last thread I'll start for 6 months. I'm just enjoying this too much to not post.
This is your moment of zen.

Matt Slauson says Rex Ryan started crying when he addressed #jets after loss to Miami yesterday.

Rex Ryan tears may be high in cholesterol.

Man, a big win against a hated divisional rival to knock them out of the playoffs, humiliating and forcing their wind bag of a HC to tears??? Christmas came a week late this year for Dolphin nation!

And to top it off the Jets are tight against the cap and may be looking to cut Bart Scott due 5.6M this year. Not a fan but he is a good run defender and the heart of their defense (along with Revis) which finished #1 and 3 in 2009 and 2010 in yards. Sweet!

  6. I have to congratulate you, im pissed but i saw this coming, what makes it ok is that we will have a different staff next season! BTW, great avatar!

If we don't have "Rexy's Crying" signs everywhere next time they come here, I will be disappoint.

  8. I dont know how tight we are against the cap, i do know that we were below this years cap by 8 million

Sometimes you have to hit rock bottom to move on. That came for us after the finale against New England last season. Unfortunately our owner didn't have the good sense to fire Sparano the next day.

  10. And unfortunately for us, i dont think that anyone is going to get fired, we are going to make a mistake and release Holmes, expect him to sign with NE.

I don't think he is the problem Jet fans make him out to be, IMO he is their boogeyman and whipping boy and the real problem lies at QB.

15 year old sad sack with typical 'OHH BOOBIES' avatar with nothing better to do than lurk on another team's board.

  21. You should see some of the playcalling on his part, he is a big problem. One of them has to go.

    Keep it clean guys...

    Anyways...

Sanchez is not going to get the wrath of Rex, nor any other player it seems, even Holmes...

Rex needs his Sanchize since he will indeed be his NY legacy after all that he has said about him and only time will tell...

Play calling has to do with the OC, and actually making decisions and acuracy when throwing the ball its the QB...

So can't you fault the OC for bad plays called, and yoour QB for his decision where to go with the ball and then all those passes that are overthrown, underthrown and all those INTs are they not your QBs fault???

Living here in NJ I do watch most of their games, they are rarely on the same time as the Dolphins, so I have a good idea what their problems are and their biggest to me is they have a QB who can't throw it down field effectively, Schotty has little choice but to be conservative and Jet fans somehow expect him to get past this little problem.

Schotty wasn't the bigger problem this year, Sanchez was. But Jet fans are not going to throw Sanchez under the bus, they have too much emotionally invested in him to be truthful about his shortcomings, so like I have said the easier choice for them is to throw the OC under.

  26. Those Ints are definitley Marks fault, but the predictability of Shotty's playcalling is obsurd.

Come on, Boik. Are you serious? Bart Scott was one of our weaknesses this season. I would say Darrelle Revis and David Harris is the heart and soul of our defense.

you have I think 5 or 6 M going in to FA as it stands now. Hence the reason Scott and now possibly Wayne Hunter may be on the outs. I know Hunter wont upset you because he stunk as a starter despite being good in a backup role last year.

Sanchez and Schotty should both be gone but no way you cut ties with Sanchez as a 3 year vet at 25 years old. His accuracy leaves a lot to be desired. And I agree you would be crazy to dump Holmes.

Your namesakes battle with Beast was pretty epic yesterday.

  30. I think the issue with Holmes was a combination of the playcalling from Shotty, and the inaccuracy of Sanchez. I understand why he is frustrated

It's just bad coaching overall. There is no way in hell we should have 5 false starts in a stadium about 60% empty. Brian Schottenheimer has to go, Wayne Hunter has to go, and we need to bring in a backup to scare Mark Sanchez. Marc Brunell is not looking over Sanchez's shoulder and Sanchez knows it himself.

I pray we sign Matt Flynn.

  32. We need to revamp our pass rush this offseason, then our corners can play nasty!

Honestly, them two going at it is something special. Jets need a WR like him. Not someone like Holmes.

Do you even watch your own teams games? I know Scott cant cover his own shadow but even that is overblown since he doesnt see a lot of snaps in coverage. His run D was ranked 8th out of 50 ILB's by Pro Football Focus this year. Your weakness defensively is that your pass rush is mediocre at best

  36. Brunell needs to go as well. It will take a lot to get Flynn.

Numbers can be misleading. Scott is good when opposing teams run right through the middle. However, when opposing teams do the sweeps and tosses, he's a lost cause.

Ask any Jet fan, and they will tell you how overrated of a player he is.

A realistic offseason in my opinion:

    Fire ****ty.
Sign Kareem McKenzie. Wayne Hunter either gets cut or restructures.
Get Michael Griffin. I don't want to see Eric Smith play ever again.
    Cut Matt Mulligan.
    Get a coverage LB.
Hopefully we the 16th pick, Upshaw can be available. He's going to be a good pass rusher in my opinion.

But I don't want to see Wayne Hunter and Eric Smith play huge minutes for us. Not at all.
