Clayton says Fisher would rather coach in St. Louis because they have a QB (which I highly disagree with) and that Fisher would prefer to pick his own GM. This I agree with, no established HC is gonna want to deal with Ireland.

Back to Clayton's comments about Bradford, does everyone still love this guy? He had 6 TD's this year, and can't stay on the field. He was injury prone at Oklahoma and has continued that in the NFL. St. Louis, to me, looks like one of the least desirable places to coach next year, unless you cut Bradford loose and draft RGIII. Then you have to get to work on that 26th ranked defense of the Rams. A defense that a guy like Spags couldn't even turn around.

Occam's Razor just cut your post into a million tiny little pieces. It could also be that St. Louis has great BBQ or that Fisher is a HUGE Cards fan.

How about you name me some of those other reasons and we'll discuss them.

The Rams are in a very weak Division and Fisher possibly likes that.

Could be. Though divisions change. There's a decent amount of parity in the NFL. The 49ers turned things around pretty quickly, and the Seahawks and Cardinals, while not powerhouses, do not appear to be complete pushovers either.

Oh no, not Occam's Razor! Thanks for setting me straight.

How about you provide any proof to your claim when you make one such as you did.

Brady won't be the stud he is for much longer. The bills are in shambles, as are the jets.....the AFC East may not be the powerhouse it used to be for much longer. Tons of parody in the nfl. Also if he chooses not to coach here cause our division is "too tough" then I don't want him here anyways.....cause he's ball-less.

If I had proof, I wouldn't be on a message board. I'd be an NFL Insider working for ESPN. There's no logical reason for Fisher to choose the Rams over the Dolphins based on anything other than Jeff Ireland's influence. Miami has a better team, is willing to spend more money and isn't as far away from being a contender as the Rams. They're also in position to draft a young QB, almost negating the Bradford argument entirely, since he hasn't done much to speak of since entering the league.

I know you seem to love the guy, but he hasn't exactly made a ton of friends. That would be fine with me, as long as he puts talent on the field that produces wins. He hasn't, and here we are.

Try "starts with R and rhymes with loss". I'm usually not one to blame the owner because there's only so much an owner can accomplish, but Ross' tenure has been pretty desastrous, especially from a prospective HC point of view. Would I want to work for Stephen Ross if I was Jeff Fisher? Heck, no. The ongoing "Carl Peterson is not going to work for the Miami Dolphins - or is he?" saga just serves as the latest example of an owner who's about as trustworthy as a used car salesman.

I hardly love Ireland. I do think he's done a reasonable job, but I'd hardly shed a tear or even bemoan the move if he were let go.

I don't disagree with this. I'm not a huge fan of Ross either. The guy has made some DERP moves, as you said.

Sure there is, career NFL types tend to go wherever not based on talent etc, but based on how well they may know some front office employee, or the owner, or whatever, simply because it makes little sense to you does not make it illogical, it does mean you did not have complete information in making the statement.

Well, one would like to think the preference to pick his own GM would be an easy fix. See ya Irish! As for Bradford, I agree...I don't think he's all that. In fact, I'm sure Fisher would much prefer to draft his own guy.

But at #8 or #9, who would that be? Weeden? Tannehill? Damn you Matt Barkley!

I think if it ends up being St, Louis, there's more to it than just the GM and QB situations. That said, I'm not so sure it doesn't end up being Indy or Tampa before it's all said and done. Safe to say, I think Fisher is gonna have his pick, and command a king's ransom in the process.

    JMHO...

EDIT: HKXXX, you really need to work on dialogue post from the Fisher interview (like you did for the Bowles interview), 'cause like I said...that was frickin' hysterical!

Fisher will certainly have some options for his services. I would be happy if we hired him, i think we could do much worse than jeff fisher. i actually fear we will do much worse than jeff fisher, but who knows. As for bradford i think he's better than any qb on the roster, played hurt all season in back of some dismal protection, I'd be happy to get him with a different price tag. the guy is just heading into his third season and has talent, bradford should play better with good health and some better blocking. if we came out of this with fisher as coach and bradford at qb i'd be pretty optimistic heading into the unknow future.

Thanks. If I get time later, I'll do one. Actually took me an hour to do that one here at work with interruptions.

Let's not forget that the Dolphins COULD trade up. Unlikely with Ireland here, but we know Ross has final say and his little puppet boy would trade his grandmother if asked. Also, just a guess, but I think Caldwell stays in Indy. I think Irsay is giving him a pass considering Peyton was hurt this year. Plus I think he would've done it when he fired the Polians. JMO. Tampa has a notoriously cheap owner in Glazer, and may be less well-liked than Ross. In fact, I'm almost positive he's less well-liked. Guess we'll see.

I just saw that Mike Martz resigned from the Bears. God, if we could get defensive minded Jeff Fisher as HC, and can lure Mike Martz to Miami as our OC...with the talent we have, we'd be UNSTOPPABLE!!!!!

Martz had Kurt Warner, Marshall Faulk an Tory Holt/Issac Bruce. Martz would have Moore (who really could be good with a true committment to him), Bush and Brandon Marshall/Davone Bess.

Like Sick stated, Brady's not going to be a stud forever, the Jets suck and the Bills are perennial cellar dwellars. If we can get BOTH of these coaches, we'll be sitting pretty!

I would take Bradford over every QB in this years draft, except for RG3 and Luck. In fact I would love for the Rams to fall in love with with the idea of drafting Luck, or RG3, and offer the Dolphins Bradford in a trade. Bradford was injured this season and played on a terrible team. I still think that he will eventually become one of the top QB's in the NFL, if he can just get a decent team around him.

Hopefully the Rams are as down on him as some fans on here are, and are looking to trade him. I think many on here forget how effective Bradford played last year during his rookie season in the NFL. Bradford would be a tremendous upgrade for the Dolphins at the QB position.

Cool, we'll just give him a pass then since he wasn't REALLY the GM. My bad.

Let's also give him a pass for not drafting a QB last year. Let's also give him a pass for Odrick and Misi over Dez Bryant. While we're at it, who needs Jimmy Graham or Aaron Hernandez, we have John Jerry! All that was totally not Ireland.

    None? No, not none.

But if we're talking about how Ireland hasn't gotten us a franchise QB, etc. etc. then it has to be noted that that was put into motion when BP's dumbass was here strong-arming us into drafting guys like Pat White.

That's kind of a huge problem for Bradford though, the injuries. He was injured twice at Oklahoma, and injured again this year. Maybe I'm too down on the guy, just never been a big fan of his. When they were compared in college, I was much higher on Matt Stafford. Bigger arm, moved in the pocket better. Then again, I do have a pretty big SEC bias.

Last thing I'll say about Ireland: He's either a puppet, or a horrible GM. It has to be one of the two. Either way his *** should be canned.

Folks, Jeff Fisher is 141/115 for 16 full seasons as an NFL head coach. That's just a little better than 8-8 every season. Please, PLEASE can we set our sights a bit higher than this?

I don't care what his overall record is. Jeff Fisher is one helluva football coach. I'm sorry you don't know enough about him, or the situation here in Nashville, to understand that. All I have to say is, if we're lucky enough to land him, you will eat your words. Miami would love him.

We're not going to get him...he's probably using Miami as leverage for when he goes to meet with St. Louis to get more money.
