Gave this some thought today... Who is on the Dolphin Equivalent of Mount Rushmore? I say: From Left to Right: Joe Robbie, Don Shula, Jason Taylor, Dan Marino Who do you got?
I'm gonna replace Jason Taylor with Zach Thomas. One, because I'm selfish and Thomas is my favorite Dolphin not named Marino, and two because Taylor played one season for the Stinkin' Jets and that alone eliminates him from contention.
I agree Killer. For me it has to be Robbie, Shula, Csonka, and Marino. At least one player from our only two Super bowl championship should be on there.
I can't get behind Robbie or even Shula. I'd think as everyone on Mount Rushmore is a President (not a Supreme Court Justice or a Speaker of the House), this should be all players. I'd say it should be: Griese, Csonka, Marino, and a Conan O'Brien style version of Zach and Jason if they had a baby ETA: Honestly, give me Stephenson over Thomas or Taylor
I knew I'd have to defend it. He might not fit in with the others, I just remember him in the news recently.
This is actually an idea I've had for a sig for a long time. Would love it if someone on the board could create a Mt. Dolphin of the following Dolphin legends for me: Shula, Csonka (I don't care about the whole WFL thing BTW), Marino and Zach Thomas. There may be other more deserving players, but I don't care. These are my all time favorite Dolphins.
I'm putting Jim Mandich up there. Obviously he doesn't earn the spot simply as a player. He earns it as player, commentator, announcer and unbelievable class act over the past 4 decades
How about Mount Heat? Funny how I could think of more players deserving on the Heat (since 1988) than I can Dolphins since 1988... Pat Riley, Grant Long, Glenn Rice, Zo, Timmy, Wade, soon to be Lebron, PJ Brown, Askins, Micky Arison, throw in a little Ronnie Seikaly and Alan Ogg in there too
Csonka, Marino, Cox, Clayton. I know mine arent popular, but Cox had what we have been missing for a while, ATTITUDE. I will never forget when he went to the other teams sideline and was ready to take them ALL ON. ( although I DID forget who it was against, KC, I think) Clayton just had fun playing, kinda like Hines Ward, and he was so connected with Marino, at least one of the MB needs to be included. I hate leaving Zach off. How bout 5? There is a difference in what Csonka did and what JT did. Csonka went to a diff. LEAGUE. JT tried to beat the PHINS.
Shula, Kuchenberg, Marino, Stephenson... Honorable mention to Czonka, Taylor, Thomas and Offerdahl...
Yeah, Zach....a very good option...He's been a big part of the Phins in my time, as long....long...long time follower...
I HAVE SIX PLAYERS FROM THE LAST 12 YEARS AND SIX PLAYERS FROM THE RELVELENT DAYS. Randy McMichael , Brock Marion , Patrick Surtain , Zach Thomas , Chris Chambers Ricky Williams. of all time Dan Marino Nat Moore , Irving Fryar , Keith Jackson , Mercury Morris and Don Strock
Oh crap, the mention of Don Strock reminded me of someone else.. I'm sure he could "crash" the mountain and nobody would mind. Jim Jensen, AKA Crash! Sorry guys for nostalgia, but at one point this team actually was relevant.. And watch those two perfect blocks to give Jensen time to throw...
