more likely it's nice you live in your own world where you take facts and form an opinion that you think are facts.
While I'm willing to concede that Miami has an edge over St Louis, to sit there and state that there's this significant difference means you're either myopic or a big homer (which is forgiveable).
both franchises suck. it makes no difference whether you go back 5 or 8 years. the suckitude is still there. We've been a joke for a long time.

And to further play devils advocate:
    - How can St Louis have all those high picks and have such a bad overall roster? Bad job of coaching up players? Scouting?
    GM?
    - How can Miami lose so many close games? Is it personnel or coaching? Both?
    - Is Sam Bradford a franchise QB?
    - What am I doing about QB in Miami?
    - Cap situations?

These are all questions Fisher will have to answer and I think in the end Miami comes out smelling like roses compared to St Louis? Unfortunate because I dont think Fisher will do any better then Sparano did.

Bold: Where have I said my opinion is a fact? PSG made an assumption somewhere or added something, however I have been using opinion language the entire time.

Italic: Myopic or a big homer to think there is a difference and I am the crazy person here? The Rams have 15 wins in the last 5 years. That is 3 wins a season. The Dolphins might be a D, however the Rams are a low F. The Dolphins might be a GED team, however the Rams are crack addicts on a corner. The Dolphins might be medicore to bad, but the Rams have dreamed of a time in the last 5 years where they could call themselves medicore.

It does make a difference if you go back 5 years or 8. If you go back eight years, you can argue that the Lions are as big of a joke as the Rams. Go back 5 and you see one team that is improving and another that is still totally horrible.

Nowhere I have said the Dolphins have been good. Hell, nowhere I have said the Dolphins haven't been a joke. However to say the Dolphins have been equal to the Rams in jokitude, is not looking at facts and doing nothing but feeling the emotion of how crappy it has been to be a Dolphin fan in the last 5 years. Save for one season. (which you cannot say as a Ram fan.)

All that is my opinion that needs no gun to my head by looking at the facts.

Last year the Rams played the Seahawks on the last day of the season for the division title. I know, a bad divsion, but still, I'd rather have a chance on the last day to win a bad divsion then win so your don't finish last....

Well, all the pundits think it will be St. Louis, and for many of the reasons being bandied about here. But, I have this hunch he may surprise everyone and take the job in Miami. Maybe it's more wishful thinking more than anything else on my part, but I just think it's a better situation (especially if there's already been conversation re; the QB situation, and how he get "his guy").

I also think it's a bigger/better stage. One of the arguments I've heard and read is re; the strength of the AFCE vs. the weakness of the NFCW. And, I think that rather than shy away from a challenge, Fisher would embrace it. Then there's the legacy of the franchise. Maybe he's sees himself as being the next Shula?

The longer this takes, the better I like our chances.

I'm not even sure what we're arguing about? We both agree both teams suck. You believe there is a huge gap between the two, while I tend to think the gap isn't all that big if take into account the Dolphins FO situation. Again, I think we're splitting hairs.

I was only making a joke when I said it must be nice going through life with all your opinions being fact because of what you said.

  13. Did not read through all the posts so I apologize if someone already said this.

My best guess on what is going to determine where he goes is going to boil down to which organization offers him the most latitude to coach his team as he sees fit. After 16yrs of having Bud Adams second guessing everything and interfering with the moves you want his frustration level has to be through the roof. He is going to want to go somewhere where the GM and the owner share similar philosophies on what it takes to build a winning franchise. JMO

What FO situation do you keep referring to? If you are speaking of our GM then what you really are stating is you don't like Ireland and not that there is a situation. If you are referring to King Carl then again there is no situation as he is a personal friend and adviser for Ross. Again not a situation as you keep referring. If I'm Fisher and I say Ireland goes you bet that if Ross truly wants Fisher then he will pull the trigger, he is an astute business man. After all why do you think King Carl is as close to this as he is? And if I'm Fisher that would encourage me as well because it shows the owner is passionate about the team but not so Snyder/Jones passionate that he interferes with the day to day running of the team. He has also proven that he is willing to fork over the money to put the best product on the field. So again what is this FO situation you keep referring too? Really, I would like to know.

So I would wonder then what message does it send to Fisher that he is flown to DENVER to meet with owner/FO as they watch another team they own in another sport and not to the city in which the team and facility actually exist? Did he actually get to see the facility, meet with employees, etc.?

I thinks the Rams may have the edge at this point simply because of the connection between his agent Marvin Demoff and Demoff's son who is an exec with the Rams. I would think that Demoff would steer him the Rams way to help his son.

the thing is both rams and dolphins are looking for a new coach for a reason neither have been very good for a while now. IMO the dolphins have better talent top to bottom but the dolphins dont have that "franchise" qb that alot of people think the rams all ready have with bradford. we can list all the reasons why he might choose the rams or dolphins but it is all up to him and his way of thinking, he may be weighing the possiblity of an issue that we would never think of, best thing to do is just enjoy the ride :tongue2:

lol so you can't explain to me what FO situation you are talking about? Seems to be a matter of perception or maybe a desire for things to be bad instead of what it actually is perhaps. But seriously I'd like to hear what your interpenetration of what our FO situation is and why it is negative.

If I was coach and I had 2 options:
    1. Go work for an owner who is not above flying all over the country trying to fill my job before he fires me, or
    2. Go work for an owner who hasn't done that.
    I'd choose the latter.

Plus, in St.Louis he will more than likely have say as to who the GM he will have to work with is, in Miami he has to work with Jeff Ireland.
I'm just giving reason why Fisher might choose the Rams over us. Maybe I'm wrong, but if were me those would be things I would be looking at.

Well the Rams, to my knowledge, have yet to comply with the Rooney Rule. They are reportedly interviewing Ray Horton this weekend. I fear that may be the reason Fisher hasn't already stated where he is going to coach and is waiting out the weekend. Let the Rams comply w/ the rule and then announce he is going to the Rams. If it was just about $$$ Kroenke is a billionaire and could easily match any offer Ross would make for Fisher.

So you are holding what he did last year over his head instead of how he is conducting things this year? How about the fact that Fisher worked with Bud Adams a control freak and the St Louis organization chose to fly him to DENVER for the interview instead of St Louis where he would be conducting his job? What impression do you think that left him with? What do they have to hide and how much control will he really have with the Rams? Ross flew Fisher to Miami and then helicoptered him to the facility where all were in attendance including the current GM. As for that GM, can you reasonably tell me that Ross would tell Fisher too bad so sad if he was to tell him " ..yea everything looks good, team talent, money...but I don't want to deal with Ireland I want X..."? Ireland would be gone in a NY minute if that were the case. Ironically for the first time in a long while I think things are being handled in a professional manner and things are looking up. I seem to be in the minority but I have suffered through many years of horrible teams from the end of Shula's career to present...

That was John Tait, who's wife didn't like Miami, since she was a conservative devout Mormon. Kreutz decided of his own accord to remain with the Bears. Tait chose the Bears over Miami because of his wife.

I agree, that whole Denver thing was curious.
As far as Ireland being gone if Fisher asked, how do we know that? Ireland was able to save his job when Ross canned Sparano.
You asked me for my perception of the FO issues and I gave them to you. Obviously, you don't agree and that's fine.
Hopefully I'm wrong and Fisher chooses to coach Miami because I think he's one hell of a football coach.

I was serious when I asked for you opinion and I have no problem with it. I think as a fan base we have been programed by the media and some of the questionable things this organization has done that we think it is no longer capable doing anything positive. So much so that we scrutinize every little thing and claim it is bad before we even get the chance to see if it is is or not. I don't buy into the media hype that Miami as a franchise is so jacked up that no one that doesn't have anything to prove will want to come here. Just the fact that this team that went 0-7 in the first part of the season turned things to a 6-3 finish and did it for a lame duck and interim coach, this team, even tho it still needs work, is better than people want to give it credit. I don't disagree that this franchise has sucked and made some poor decisions in the recent past but let's not close the book until this is a done deal and then we can analyze it to death.
