http://www.palmbeachpost.com/sports...gton-to-try-comeback-from-latest-1191470.html Yeah baby???, I know its risky, but the man wants a chance, and he likes our coaches, and he's brilliant, and he's a local here, and if he strikes Luck, with this team???sheeeeet!!!We'd compete for the title with that dude havin 1 healthy year, I know what your thinking, but its worth the risk, and it shouldn't change two things, Matt Moore Playing and giving him good competition {Pennington will prolly make it thro OTA's and minicamps and TC, and be able to teach Moore}, and getting ourselves a young QB in the draft, there's a chance we go all in next season and try to win with this team, so if we wanna go skill players and upgrade the both sides, we can still get a young qb in this draft that comes with excitement {ahemmm, Russell Wilson} Also, if we give him this shot, and it doesn't work out, we can secure him as a coach, if that's what he wants.. Steven Ross...PLEASE SIGN CHAD PENNINGTON!!!!! I just want you to think, 1 healthy season, and Chad Pennington leading this team, which is a WAYYYY better team than the one he guided to a title..much better defense. If he fails, who the hell cares, we need him in some capacity associated with our franchise..He's too damn good. Please Ross..make the move.
lol..and you can close thread, its an old article...pissass..lol Shoot, anyone know anything about Pennnington and his intentions, last I heard, he wanted to make a run at it, thats why when I saw the article I thought it fit, and I lost track on how many damn surgeries he's had...lol
but I think he doesn't think that, and if he doesn't think that we should at least be the team that he fulfills whatever it is he's trying to do..
We are trying to move forward and soidify the position and a QB who lasted 2 snaps his last go around isn't what I would even want to waste time considering.
you can still get your QB, were not gettin RG3, so the rest can sit and learn for a year, we'll evaluate it again next year.. Tannehill, Russell Wilson, they can learn just fine, while Penny and Moore battle it out.
Sitting here a year later it would look like it didn't work out for Penny. I doubt his shoulder can do much of anything anymore.
No thanks, gotta throw some young bodies at the position and allow them all to compete. We've been evaluating the position each year since Dan left and I am fed up with it. Quit putting band aids on bullet wounds and fix it once and for all.
Correct me if I am wrong, but doesn't the poster you replied to give you a somewhat viable solution? Keep a veteran guy on, draft a young guy like Tannehill or Wilson and let them learn for a year or two, then hand over the reins slowly much like Green Bay did with Aaron Rodgers. I think that handing the reins over to a rookie/young QB is like closing the bullet wound with another bullet. There is no guarantee that the above mentioned young QBs will be able to just step in. I think the best option is to keep Moore, let him be a game manager, and let one of the young QBs learn while holding a clipboard and listening to the play calls.
He is an athlete. He will probably NEVER think he is done. He didnt think he was done the last time he took a snap. I hate it for him, but, go do something else that your body can handle before you cripple yourself for life. Why take up practice snaps with him when MM or some other YOUNGER, HEALTHIER QB could use them to GROW. The perfect example of this is the amount of time, in GAMES, it took for MM to get up to speed because he didnt get the snaps before hand. I see NO positive to him coming back here.....NONE. I was one of the guys wanting Henne to get his shot while Penny was here so we could find out what we had instead of wasting our time with Penny. We needed to see if we could build around Henne. Henne DID get his shot and we did see that he was NOT the guy. Now lets see what MM has. Is HE the guy or not? We wont know until he gets some REAL time as starter to grow. THAT time is NOW.
not sure where your getting confused on what Iam saying..If Penny is healthy enough to make this comeback, like I think he's trying to, then sign him to compete with Moore, and go get your QB in the draft.. I'am also saying that if Penny gets to a point where he's ready for a physical, let us be first the first in line, it could be an interesting thing for our team next year, because we are good enough to compete, and have him around are rookie, and maybe start recruiting him to be in our organization in some capacity. Were not in rebuilding mode here..
we will need a backup to Moore...if he passes a physical, I can see many angles where it would be smart to sign him, especially if he's looking to join an organization.
Hell, draft a guy, take a flyer on Pennington with the understanding that he is there to teach, and have a fair shot to beat MM out.
He did give an opinion on the option just like I did. I want to go with a vet more along the lines of Moore, Flynn, etc. who have been in the league and aren't greenhorns running the show. Draft a youngster and sit him yes but I don't want a QB roster spot tied up with these end of the road QBs. JMO.
worst idea ever. the man's shoulder is meatloaf. do you think it will improve with age and additional surgeries? rewind the clock to 2 years ago when this was STILL a bad idea.
