    Great.. Another JJ...

If I'm Ross I pull the offer if he can't make up his mind within the next 24 hours. If he isn't our guy we need plan B right away

Not all people are attracted to bubble butt super models or the flashy Miami scene.. Remember Nick Saban and his wife? They looked like The Beverly Hillbillies in Miami

Jay Glazer had been saying it would be the Rams. In fact something he wrote saying it'll be the Rams got interpreted as him breaking news that he's signing with the Rams, and that caused a big stink.

Basically, he's refusing to believe that it's Miami until it happens. The most he'll move to is "legitimately torn", with a wording that suggests that Fisher will waffle back to the Rams any minute now.

Nonsense, this was reported 3 days ago after he left St Louis, by Mike Silver, Glazer was certain on Sunday that Fisher was going to agreed to coach the rams by Tuesday, now he is rehashing what Silver said 3 days ago and at least appearing to have it as legitimate source information.

Pay no attention to Glazer on this one, he doesn't have any inside stuff.

If you read Mike Silver's stuff, he had this torn bit after the Broncos beat the Steelers, in fact he took it further in a different article iirc, that said Fisher is not leveraging anyone, that is not his style.

I have absolutely no problem with Fisher taking his time to decide which job he wants to take. Wherever Fisher decides to coach, he will have to uproot his wife and any family members who still live with him. I am sure he wants to know how these family members also feel about living in either of these cities. Besides, it isn't like the Dolphin or Rams jobs are high profile jobs at this time. If Fisher chooses to come to Miami, great, if not, good luck with the Rams.

I think the delay is due to some serious hardball negotiating more than anything else.Fishers agent upping the contract benefits .

For instance if Fishers is worried about the team moving to LA he could be demanding a Parcells type of contract which pays him a lump sum or a higher payoff if the move is made etc.

In other words a torn contract rather than torn feelings :wink2:

Hell , let him coach both teams , alternate weeks ...

Not a huge deal he hasn't decided imo , there is no real rush , wouldn't break my heart if he went to St. Louis though. Like that the Rams interviewed Chud to be honest...

Ok. This is business. You have two bidders for your services. You would be happy to go both places. This means it has become about dollars. One of the bidders says he will not be outbid. Do you run to sign with him, or wait until the other guy bids up your price?

Didn't Fisher say he would make up his mind by this week?

Well it's only Wednesday. He really has 2 more days left to decide. The reports just keep sending out reports of what they think, not what anyone knows. Because i don't think Fisher has made up his mind yet. If he has i'm sure it would be out everywhere by now. Obviously there could be some contract negotiations being finalized or tweaked before he fully commits which could be another delay on why it hasn't been released as well.

Or, could be as simple as lining everything up with assistants, or making sure the Team is completely sold on him and the vision he put forward during his interviews.

Keep in mind, Fisher is planning on being wherever he winds up for a decade or more, he wants everything to be right on his end, and on the franchises end of things, so a day or two now means nothing in the larger picture.

Matt Moore has shown more signs of becoming a franchise QB to this point, than Bradford has.

I think everyday Fisher doesn't bite is better for us. All we heard was that he was headed to St. Louis. The time it's taking to me means he's reconsidering. It's not a slam dunk. If St. Louis was going to pay him big bucks, it would have happened.

I have a gut feeling he is waiting on the situation to iron out in Indy to see if they will have a coaching vacancy there in the next couple days.

Fisher negotiations could be about money and title
    Jan

Jason La Canfora of NFL Network cites league sources who say one of the issues holding up a deal between Fisher and the Rams is compensation. Fisher is seeking to be among the higher-paid coaches in the league, in the range of $7 million per season, the sources told La Canfora. Rams owner Stan Kroenke has not displayed a willingness to reach that stratosphere to this point, the sources said.

Also La Canfora said Fisher is likely to command a title of executive vice president wherever he lands. In Miami, that title would trump that of general manager Jeff Ireland, which would shift the organization's current structure. Dolphins owner Stephen Ross is believed to be willing to spend to a higher threshold in order to land Fisher, sources said.

If the Don Banks article is accurate, my guess is that Fisher was more inclined to agree with the groupthink media sentiment regarding both teams. While seemingly indecisive, his homework and film study is leading him to the same conclusions that many of us have: the rosters are not as close as being reported, Matt Moore is actually pretty good and unlike Bradford, comes at a cheap price and can be dumped easily.

EDIT: or based on the above, maybe its just about the money lol

The longer this goes, the more I'm inclined to think he's not coming to Miami.
I think he might be waiting for St. Louis to up the offer and get as close to what Ross is willing to pay.

I really think is waiting for Indy...at this point is time for Ross to put a deadline on this saga, pushing him to make a decision or we need to look in a different direction. Is no longer a coaching search or waiting for Fisher to come to senses, but we are involve in a borderline drama with a lot of frustration and a lot speculations. I don't dislike Fisher, but he doesn't have a track record to justify all this primadonna act. We need to show that we got some cojones and walk away.

Why? Recall that parcells was on his jet flying to Atlanta to sign a deal when Wayne H called and upped his offer to 27 million? That process took much longer.

Reality is, these guys are living their lives atm, they are not full of anticipation as the season is not really even over as of yet, what is their time pressure to foce a move?

I agree that he needs to hurry up.

I want someone that REALLY wants the opportunity and wants to be HERE.

If he's flip flopping so much then we'll end up in the Saban wagon again of getting a guy who came for the money but who's heart wasn't all that into comming to the MIAMI Dolphins. Then in a few years he'll either bolt by retiring or suck so bad we'll get rid of him ourselves.

per national football post, Fisher to be Exec VP and pull down 8 million per yr.

Ross is in town for a fundraiser for Mitt Romney from 5-7 tomorrow evening, a noon or morning presser w/Fisher, Ross goes away and does Billionaire stuff, then attends fundraiser and enjoys his weekend

i read that and it really doesn't say much imo other than the title given

    http://www.nationalfootballpost.com/Report-Dolphins-closing-in-on-Fisher.html

    how reliable is NFP?

interesting though is that both the SI and NFP pieces now lean toward giving Matt Moore more credit in the decision than what the media has previously reported. I mean, in the beginning it was 'Rams have franchise QB, Dolphins have no QB.' Now they are saying Moore had a good season. Is this a case of the media digging for angles or is this how Fisher really feels?
