There appears to be an assumption that if the Dolphins hire Philbin, Flynn will follow him to Miami. First of all, I am not that sure Flynn is the long term answer at QB position for any team in the NFL, much less the Dolphins. I certainly understand the ratings given to each of these coaches, but as far as I am concerned, none of these coaches make me want to go out and buy season tickets next season.

My first choice was always Cowher, but he obviously is happy where he is. If the Dolphins were unable to sign Cowher, I wanted either John Gruden or Fisher. If the Dolphins sign Fisher, I plan on purchasing season tickets once again next season. If they end up with one of the other coaches they have shown an interest in, I will not purchase season tickets, but rather wait a year and see how effective this new coach is in turning around the Dolphins.

If it's not Fisher, I hope we get either Bowles, Zimmer, or Kelly.

Just my opinion, but I think Bowles might be the best man for the job. I like the way the team played the last 3 games of the season. Too bad I think he has slim to none chance because of what it would mean to season ticket sales. Ross won't go with Bowles because of the reports the bean counters are giving him. He's gotta make a splash. That's why he's all in on Fisher (obviously).

I wonder why it is assumed that people like Bowles or Zimmer wouldn't be a good hire even though they lack experience in head coaching? They could take a chance and see what happens. You have to gain experience some how. Besides they might turn out to be pretty good.

our players played pretty well for Jim Bates when he was interim coach, IMO, it's common for players to play harder when the lame duck coach leaves.

Having said that, I like Bowles, but I'd rank him still behind Fisher and Zimmer.

No it's not. You can have a defensive minded coach as long as he hires a good offensive staff

    Which coach best fits????

How about the first coach to accept the job in under a day, cause apparently that's all that matters around here.

#1 Dave Toub, I think he may be the sort of ego less HC who will let his coordinators do their jobs
#2 Todd Bowles, real tossup with my #3 Zimmer, he edges in at #2 because he has a better knowledge of the players and what is needed, he wouldn't start over at -0-, which imo we don't need
#3 Mike Zimmer, I really like his prospects, I like his approach to picking up scrap heap guys and having them perform well, a key in the AFCE, what I don't like is I cannot think of another newb 57 yr HC having a ton of success in their first yr.

I suspect Philbin will withdraw his name from Coaching jobs this offseason.

Earth to dolphin fans we were bad under Bowles just lie we were for the last six coaches. the right thing todo is go after Jon Gruden and give him what he wants . Ireland is the reason for our downfall and its time for all to realize that Miami will not have success until he is out of office . I am suprised that Cowher has been quite i figured there would at least be a rumor or two.

Would you be so kind as to give some specific reasons why you believe that, or would you just rather post baseless rants?

Yes, but he also inherited Manning when he took over the Colts job. Without Manning as his QB, Dungy would have been lucky to be a 500 coach with the Colts. It was always the offense which was the best unit on the Colts during Dungy's tenure with the team. In fact the last few years he was the HC of the Colts, the Colts defense was a below average NFL defense.

Ross is a smart business man. Money wise, if you pay Fisher about 6 million a season and increase ticket sales by "x" amount it might be the equivalent to signing Bowles for 1 million a season and increasing ticket sales by "x/4"

He clearly just wants to win. Even though everyone keeps bashing him as a bad owner.

I'd like to see Rick Dennison get an interview. Did a fantastic job as OC of the Texans this year.

Without a QB I'd rather hear halftime speeches by Alec Baldwin...Game balls are for closers!
