    1. Dre Kirkpatrick
    2. Mark Barron

both guys have size and both guys are extremely physical. From the videos I watched, it seems like every passing play either one or both of these guys are around the ball. I see Kirkpatrick more as a FS than a CB in the NFL, but I think he will be able to play both positions incredibly well. He reminds me of a bigger Malcolm Jenkins. Also, I think we may even be able to trade down in the 1st a few spots and still be able to grab Kirkpatrick, because I think he will last til around 15 or so.

Barron would be able to take over Bell within a couple of seasons. A lot of you hate Reshad Jones. Kirkpatrick has the ability to come in and start at FS right away imo. These guys could really bring what we need to our secondary...ballhawking ability.

Or we could even keep Kirkpatrick at CB opposite of Vontae and have a solid trio and be able to move SS24 around to different positions. I think it would give us so many options.

    I love these Bama guys.

I would rather draft Courtney Upshaw at #1 to place opposite of Cameron Wake and Markelle Martin at #2 to play free safety. I understand the need for some secondary upgrades, but I wouldn't invest both of our first two picks there.

I am hoping we offer Dashon Goldson or Michael Griffin a contract to play in Miami though.

we need a kick *** wr like Megatron but i would be cool with a defensive end or kirkpatrick.

I still want Brandon Weeden because he has potential to be a quick learner andwhy cant Marino come down to Miami and do what John Elway will do in the offseason. (which is will work with Tebow.

I am ok if we went tightend , or defensive end , Weeden in rd 2 , de / linbacker Richetti Jones or wr.

or we ought to but we wont and that is trade all our picks this year for Luck and give them Hartline and Daniel Thomas ( ok wishful thinking )

I don't like Upshaw as much as most people. He just doesn't impress me all that much. I think he has a lot of talent and could be solid in the NFL, but I'd rather go after someone like Brandon Jenkins in the 2nd and take a DB or RT in the 1st round. I love Weeden and Osweiler as potential later round QB prospects. I like our current WR corps. Marshall is still a dominant player imo.

I really think Kirkpatrick and Barron are gonna be special players. Especially Barron.

The defense the Dolphins have right now is good enough for the Dolphins to make the playoffs. It is the offense which needs the help to get this team to another level. So what I would love to see is the Dolphins trade their first and second round this year, plus their first round picks in 2013 and 2014 to the Rams to take RG3 with this pick.

The 2012 draft should be totally committed to the offense. It is going to take at least three more years to build this team into a legitimate playoff contender, so the Dolphins will have at least two drafts after the 2012 draft to concentrate on the defensive side of the ball.

In three years RG3 will be one of the premier QB's in the NFL and the Dolphins should be ready to go on a long run, in regards to being a playoff team. If the Rams are willing to make this trade with the Dolphins, Ireland should jump at the chance to grab RG3, who will be a serious upgrade at the most important position on a football team.

Osweiler or Weeden in the 3rd or 4th.

btw, Matt Moore isn't a terrible option entering next season if we can get some protection.

What are the odds we get Demetrius Bell, Dashon Goldson, Anthony Spencer all in the same year? 0? Figured. But yeah, I'd take hard looks at Spencer and Goldson, trade up for RG3, and hope Kendall Wright becomes a second round pick. I think we'd be basically set if not for the Offensive line. I'd take Brandon Washington in the fourth round to plug in at RG. He was a damn good guard in college but had to play Tackle last year.

That is giving up way too much for RG3 imo. I would not be happy if we gave up 2 firsts and 2 seconds for him. If we did that for Luck, then that is a different story. But, for RG3? No thanks. I'd rather look at QBs later in the draft with potential and build around our current offense, which isn't that bad. I'm fine with dedicating this draft to offense, but we still need help on defense. Especially safety and OLB.

Now, if we did something like:

-Trade down and take Barron later in the 1st, pick up another 2nd
-Use both 2nds for a TE and OT (ie. Dwayne Allen/Coby Fleener/Orson Charles and Mike Adams/Matt Reynolds/Zebrie Sanders)
-Then use our 3rd and 4th round picks on a QB (Osweiler/Weeden/Wilson) and some pass rush help maybe

I think we have a lot of options, but I'd honestly rather really upgrade our secondary by taking two big time players early and looking at the offensive talent available in FA and later in the draft. We need to start making plays on defense and we need to start forcing some turnovers. We were 25th in pass yards/game and only had 16 defensive INT...5 of them came from Odrick, Starks, Dansby, and Burnett.

It's possible... but not likely. I think Spencer and Goldson are guys that will get middle of the line free agent deals. I'd rather sign Chad Rinehart instead of Demetrius Bell to play him at RG and have Jerry play at RT.

Just want to make sure I understand what you are saying. In getting Griffin we would still be 3 or so years away from playoff contention, correct. And you want to mortgage the next 3 years drafts (or at least 1st round picks in those years) and upgrade the defense with later round picks in the next 3 years. Not sure I get that.

Here's what I'm saying. If you think you can win as early as next year with this team (and by win, I mean the Super Bowl), you move up and get Griffin. Whatever it takes. If you think you have a shot to be AFC East / Wild Card contenders, MAYBE you go get him if you think he helps you immediately. If you feel this team is far away and at least 3 years away, I see no reason in mortgaging future draft picks for Griffin. Just add to what you have and over the next year or two, take a shot and move up to get your QB. QB's don't need 3 years to develop, especially the elite ones.

What are the chances that Blackmon drops to 8/9? I have read he'll be going anywhere from 2-15, but would be a nice pick-up I think. Of course, that then could also make Weedon more attractive in the 3rd (2nd?) as they already have the chemistry together I guess.

I am beginning to think that both Luck and RG3 are going to be out of our reach.

First, the Dolts will be drafting Luck. It's pretty obvious how things went down in Indy. Irsay is ready to move on from the Manning era. If Manning is healthy, I don't see him there next year....not with a new coaching staff and Luck staring at him every day...

The next best option is RG3, but we pick at best 8th. However, Cleveland, Wash and Jax likely would be in the game for RG3 and pick ahead of us. Cleveland has the resources to move up easier than any of the rest of the RG3 wanna haves. There is no guarantee that the Rams or TB wouldn't be interested, even tho both have guys in place. What it would probably take is at least 4 picks in the first or second round to get that #2 overall... 1st and 2nd this year, 1st next two yrs...I just don't see a new HC wanting to give that much up. Of course, the rumors about us wanting to trade up will undoubtedly be rampant from here on out.

Now, Ireland has been fairly successful in identifying good FA talent. Can we draw the right guys here with a new coach and the circus that Ross has helped create around this organization ?? I don't know...I don't see it... Now, let me be clear, I'm not against that option, I just don't think it's in the cards for Fin fans....

If no RGIII, drop and take Jeffrey and best Playmaker available in the 2nd. If you can't drop in the 1st, take anyone who can cover Gronkowski. Then drop in the second and take Ganaway.

Has anyone seen Dwayne Allen play? Is this guy a gamer? A game changing TE would be a great pick in the 1st round but not at 8/9.

Well SI/NFL.com is saying Cleveland wants to trade up to #2.

May be early but i'm sure they will get him if they choose to over us. It's just what happens. That's if both Cleveland and Miami want to trade up, there's also a good chance we won't even make an attempt.

Three 1st rounders and three 2nd rounders for RG3 would be insanity. That is a package that I'd have second thoughts giving up for Andrew Luck and he is the best prospect in over 25 years. You do not give up that much to move into the #2 spot.

Draft well where we are and let the season come to us. If we suck again we can make a move to get a quarterback in a much stronger quarterback draft.

If we can not get the QB this year, why not try to trade our #1 for a #1 next year plus what ever it should cost. Then we might be in the position to move up if we get the chance next year. NE has made a mint trading this year for next and we are always somewhat jealous for this. They had to start some where, and we need to also.

No possible chance either one lasts til our 2nd round pick unless they get caught with a trunk full of weed or knock over a liquor store between now and draft day.
If we went that route, CB and S, I'd take Barron in the 1st, make him the FS, then hope for Chase Minnifield to make it to our 2nd rounder. Chase has the pedigree. His dad Frank was a fine CB for many years in Cleveland.

You want Marino to come down to Miami and help out Elway working with Tebow? I think Marino is already living in Miami, so wouldn't you want him to go to Denver to help Elway with his Tebow tutoring?

You'd kill 2 birds with one stone, because it would allow Richie to move to his natural RG spot. Then draft someone like Jonathan Martin to play RT, and all the sudden we'd have a top 5 OL at the very least. Martin would also give us a legit backup for LT in case Jake gets hurt again. Good depth with Jerry, Garner, Cook and maybe Murtha, and we'd be in fine shape.

Needs to be a freaky Jevon Kearse type...Something they've never thought of before. Some of these DT/DE's have freaky speed, I remember Langford was clocked at a 4.6 coming out of college. Teach one of those guys to play press/read on Gronk, or resort to my 5-6 defense when they play hurryup.

Kendall Langford? No way he ever ran a 4.6 forty coming out. His combine time was 4.95. He wasn't a workout warrior much at all. His 1 rep max on the bench then was only 343. He had one telling lift though that really translates to his on field power. He could power clean 435 lbs, which is darned good.

First of all, I have no idea where you come up with the idea I would trade 3 first round picks, plus three second round picks for RG3. In the trade I propose, the Dolphins would really only be giving up a second round pick this year and their first round picks in 2013 and 2014. They would be exchanging first round picks with the Rams this year so they could move up and select RG3 with the second pick in the draft.

I never said anything about trading away the Dolphins 2nd round picks in 2013 and 2014. To me, giving up one second round pick this season and two number one picks the following two years to pick up a talent like RG3 is well worth it.
