I feel indifferent. I've suffered through so many disappointments with this team that I've learned to lower my expectations drastically. I now go into every season expecting the worst and hoping for the best.

I'm as down on this team as I ever have. The years and years of mediocre/bad coaches and QBs have worn me down.

I don't care as much as before.. Life is too good to get emotionally invested in failure. If they win, great, if they lose, life goes on.

I really won't know how I feel until after the draft... But as every year, once the draft is over, I'll be too busy being optimistic to be realistic.

The last few years have shown me that what looks good on paper isnt necessarily...and we're probably not "just a few pieces" away.

I've defended Ross as well but his maneuvering is pathetic.. Why the hell is this coaching search so public? Make up your freaking mind already.

I feel better than I do the year we started with Parcells.

I wasn't a fan of the move then and was in the minority. I felt the game had passed Parcells by. I was pleasantly surprised by the season's end and had sadly bought into the hype completely. Since then I've seen changes in the league. Gone are the days of defensive teams dominating the top even if the occasional defensive team gets through. This is a QB league now. Coaches and seasons are made by QBs. I've also seen that the success of a coordinator is not an indicator of HC success. So what I want to see from a candidate is HC qualities, like motivation, organization, delegation, etc.

I'd like to see Philbin as our coach, because he wasn't a play caller. He was in charge of the offense, formulated the philosophy, organized the duties and delegated to other coaches. I want us to go after QB's who have a real shot at being franchise, like Flynn, RGIII or a healthy Manning.

If we do those things, I'll feel really good about the team.

While I have zero faith in Ross & Ireland, I think the team is talented enough (currently) to win despite them...how's that for an answer?!?! :shifty:

As a fan of the team since 1966, I feel sad that I have lost the interest in the organization I had for so long. I loved going to the games at the stadium for forty years. I loved traveling to nearly 30 away games over the years and seeing so many of my fellow Dolphin fans on the road. I loved all the friendships I made over these years with the many season ticket holders I had the fortune to meet and get to know. While I am still in contact with many of these individuals, most of us no longer purchase season tickets, and its not for financial reasons.

I used to look forward to game day and other then the trip my wife and I took to attend a road Dolphin game, my wife knew that we were not going to be traveling during football season. Because watching the Dolphin games were the number priority during this time of the year. With Robbie and Huizenga as the teams owner, the Dolphins were not always the best team in the league, but I knew that they would attempt to do what was necessary to fix the problems with the team. Unfortunately Huinzenga never was able to make the hire needed to get the organization headed in the right direction. To his credit though, he certainly did everything he could to bring in the hottest prospects on the market, each time he made a hire.

I just don't have the same faith in Ross I had in the previous owners, and he has yet to show that he knows how to effectively run a NFL football organization. Having him as the teams owner and Ireland as the teams GM, makes me very SAD indeed.

For the first time in over forty years, my wife and I went on vacation during the Dolphin regular season this year. It makes me sad that I now have so little interest in the team that I didn't even think about the game I was missing while I was on vacation.

I want to feel again, the same way I did about the Dolphins when Robbie and Huizenga owned the team. I just don't know if that is possible with Ross as the owner of the team. We shall see.

I voted for the last option. And I think the majority of people feel that way.
However, a majority of that majority won't admit it. Not even in a anonymous poll.

They had a very soft schedule in 2011 and still finished 6-10. So I don't see that next years schedule will be any softer than this years was.

The Saints/49ers game highlighted how important having a franchise QB and a good TE are in today's NFL. It's time for the Phins to address those needs. A good coach would be nice as well! :sigh:

Since Jimmy Johnson's last year as HC our Dolphins have been a three ring circus. Admittedly Dave Wannstedt gave us some winning seasons but I credit those as being in spite of Wannstedt not because of him. Wannstedt used JJ's leftovers but failed to fill the cupboard with any talent leaving it bare. Since then it has been one disappointment after another and one embarrassment after another. Ross has failed to do anything as yet to restore pride and respectability to a once proud franchise. With his bringing in celebrities as part owners and his Harbaugh pursuit, he has accomplished nothing as yet to restore Miami's image. Admittedly, Ireland has brought in some talent but he has also done some questionable things. He hasn't yet established himself as a good GM and I think that point still hangs in the balance. This will be his make or break year and if he fails to live up to expectations he will also trash Ross's reputation as an owner.

Since Shula's last year we were a three ring circus, technically. He splurged on FA, much the same way the Eagles did this year to similar results. The whole time JJ was here was a circus. Quiting, not quiting, 62-7.

Despondent, Distraught, Disappointed, I feel dead inside.

I wake up every morning, wondering why we have been forsaken, and been designated as children of a lesser god.

We might as well disband the franchise and turn Insert Name Here Stadium into a theme park.

    Or

Get me a quarterback, and I will begin to give a crap again.

Funny that no one is mentioning how Jim Irsay contacted Fisher before Caldwell was fired, but want to burn Ross at the stake for doing it to Tony S.

The best way I can describe it this:

When I'm watching a football game not involving the Dolphins, I often wonder what it would be like being a fan of those teams.
I NEVER used to do that.

For the first time in 39 years, I do not care about the Phins. I think Steven Ross is one of, if not THE, worst owners in the NFL. I have no respect for him or his front office. He has turned the franchise, literally, into a joke in a ludicrously short amount of time. It's very telling when Jeff Fisher is asked why he chose the Rams, and his very first reason is: 'the owner.'

I'm sick of being a fan of the Dolphins. I am not spending one more dollar on that franchise, and I am not putting one more ounce of faith in them.

Count me as a fan of the game.

You are the first person who I have seen who seems to have this information concerning Irsay contacting Fisher before firing Caldwell. I guess you have some inside information on the Colts no one else does.
So I have to question if the information is true or not.

If Irsay did in fact contact Fisher before firing Caldwell. All that means is that Irsay is just as unethical as Ross is in dealing with those who work for him. Just because Irsay MIGHT have done the same thing Ross DEFINITELY did, doesn't excuse the behavior of Ross last year when he went to interview Harbaugh while keeping Sparano waiting to see if he still had a job or not. I am sure you would not appreciate your boss doing the same thing to you.

You can use all the excuses you want to, but the fact is that when all is said and done, the Dolphins played ONLY three teams this past season which ended the year with a winning record. If having only four games the entire season, (two games against the Patriots), against teams which ended the season above 500 isn't considered an easy schedule, I don't know what else you would call it.

The Dolphins went 6-10 and against this this softball schedule and yet there are some on here who actually want us to believe that the Dolphins are improving as a team.
