In the real world it's pretty standard to start finding a replacement before you fire someone.

If you have a girl and you want to leave, make sure you got a Plan B or it's just I and PALMela.

Sec, I know you love your heat, but the fanbase of that team is also adding to the bad image of this town no?...what is wrong with this town man, and can it ever improve???, the media is just having a field day.

Was not a fan of Parcells. Its funny that Ross gets the title of a star chaser yet it was Wayne H who chased all the big names with bad results!

Think this is going to be a great year and have faith in Ross to turn this club around!

Perhaps you missed it but Nolan is now the DC of the Atlanta Falcons.

To all the posters who say that they are not bothered about watching the Dolphins. Try being the wrong side of the pond! You only get 16 (guarrenteed) games a season, of which only 8 are at home. If you cannot be bothered to go and support your team for only 8 home games a season, in super sunshine (most weeks) then you're not a fan. Try turning up, like I do, to watch my home team on a freeezing Saturday evening in December. We're not that good either, at the moment, but hell I'm there. And have the pleasure of being able to do so for 23 times a season !!!!! Come on get behind the team. If they know the fans are behind them, that is worth more than anything else.

No. I don't ***** about fans that pay their money and show up. Heat has had perfect attendance for since the Big three formed, and they are paying through the nose to do so. Now, as for "knowledge" of the games...yeah, our fans aren't so great. heat fans belong on that list as well.

Heat fans are notorious for being sour puss whiners.

I'm new to posting on this board, but I've been reading a while and appreciate the insight many of you bring to the table.

When I was younger, I started being a Dolphins fan during the David Woodley and the Killer B's days. When my dad died in Jan 83, the Dolphins in the Super Bowl helped me deal with a bad loss. I guess it took my mind off things even if was just a little. Then, Marino came along and I had years of getting close and actually having my team matter. As I've gotten older, I don't take the losses as bad as I once did. I still get upset, but it doesn't kill me for the entire week like it once did. Maybe it's the years of mediocre football, or maybe it's just being a dad with other things to worry about. Like someone mentioned earlier, I hope for the best but I temper my expectations.

For those of you that are much younger and didn't have a Griese, Woodley, or a Marino and our team mattered, I respect that you still are Dolphins fans. One day, the team will be much better and the bandwagon will be built full of "new" fans. You can say that you've always been there.

Excellent post. I was 8 when Danny was a rookie and I was 23 when he retired. I consider myself lucky to have grown up with him as my QB. I feel so bad for you youngins who have grown up with the sad lot at QB we've had for 13 years now. Ugh........

Actually, my choice would be a combination of all the options:

I'm very concerned about the future. 2012 might be better than 2011, but it's anyone's guess right now. Much will depend on the new leadership, what happens in FA and the draft. I have lost a lot of faith in Ross, and strongly dislike and don't trust Ireland. I've never been more concerned about the future of this once proud franchise.
