http://www.sun-sentinel.com/sports/miami-dolphins/fl-hyde-miami-dolphins-0119-20120118,0,336686.column It was an interesting article I want to share with you all. It made me question if I was overlooking a coach I had heard about because I didn't think he was right one for the job.
Ross wants to find the next Shula.. Ross does everything possible to go after a coach {Harbaugh} he identified as having the traits of a young Shula..who turns out to be the absolute truth, a real contender to carry that huge mantle. I don't blame him for going after the best, because he is just that, the best.. Ross states he wants a young Shula..I'am gonna give the man a chance to find it..
Ross is misquoted in that Deej, he said it would be nice to find the next Shula, not he will find the next Shula. As for no name Coaches, talent wins ballgames, simple as that, add playmakers we win more games if not we won't.
They wouldn't be writing this is the Dolphins hire Beezow Doo-Doo Zopittybop-Bop-Bop ...because of his police record
There is some reality here people need to realize Aquafin: -Sparano was not an idiot -Sparano did not want to kick FG's -they did realize that Brandon Marshall was dropping TD passes They had no one else to really go to in those situations, just Marshall and Fasano on occasion, we had no dependable short ydg offense and no goal line running back with a nose for the endzone. So the "draft a Qb with a first rd pick" stuff, to me, is just dummy talk unless the rest of the offense is upgraded.
Couldn't agree more. Sure you would expect a top WR to come up with the catches when the pressure is on - but when hes your only option, something else is awry. Gotta give kudos for pointing out the misquote of Ross. Something you hear repeated again and again and again as misinformation. I hope we find a coach who works with the talent brought in, in terms of putting a system around his players, and motivating them to succeed in that system...and beyond that, one has to hope that Ireland ups his performance last year in terms of bringing in talent ....big time ups his performance there. I'm realizing looking at coordinator records etc. etc. is a quick way to be disenchanted and disgusted, that may have little to no relevance. Heres to a random burst of optimism for the time being
The other thing is, this team was designed to run the football with power, to win the turnover battle and to win the TOP and least penalties contest. That means players who are football smart, but not great athletes, think about this, in 4 drafts, we've taken 3 guys who run 4.3's, Gates, Carroll, Clemons. How are you going to have long TD plays when you have skill position players, who don't run well? We also won 2 or 3 games with Brian Hartline making no impact at all, this is your #2 Wr, how does this happen?
If we don't get a retread it's OK,I at least want the next coach to want to be here and be willing to prove himself. There is talent on the roster and someone needs to lead them.Of coarse a QB would go along way to make the coach look like a "genius".
Well, I'm optimistic, but like last yr when we signed Matt Moore "the new HC is not a "Savior" hire. He has his work cut out for him no matter who we hire.
There are few people I can think of this team could hire who I would give an immediate endorsement to. I wouldn't have even given Fisher an immediate endorsement. If they say lured Cowher out of retirement and he gave us a few classic Cowher pressers, he might get an immediate endorsement. He might not. There are also few people who will immediately draw criticism from me. Zimmer might have. Mularkey would have. There are no candidates currently mentioned who would immediately be blasted by me (Cam Cameron and Nick Saban are on that short list, too ). The new coach is like any new players brought in. It's a meritocracy. They get a chance to earn my affection and respect. No more. No less.
