The paradox of the newb NFL Head Coach:

    -talent wins ballgames
-all athletes are by definition talented
-a good coach can develop that talent, but cannot teach that talent heart, passion, determination
-character only means the coach does not have be woken at 2 am
-talented *******s who love to play beat good guys, with no talent 9 times out of 10

I said your rants not your thoughts.

And our owner came into a situation that the last owner set up. That situation has begun to change starting last year.

By all means, give us one solid stitch of proof, Cowher turned us down because of Ireland.

You obviously have a lot more confidence in Ireland as a football guy than I do. I see Ireland wanting McCoy because he is only 38 years old and is less likely to question Ireland's player personnel decisions, than a 50 year old Philbin might tend to do.

I also think that Ireland is looking for someone he can control, rather than someone who would do the best job as the teams head coach in the long run. I just don't trust Ireland and as he did to Sparano last year, he will stab the next HC in the back if it means it saves his own job.

There's 0 short or long term benefit for Ireland to support a guy who he doesn't believe is the best man for the job, because Ireland won't last through another failed HC whether he backs him or not.

You also think Ireland is a terrorist and is a member of Al Qaeda.

I cannot back up my claim and don't have to, because like you I've "seen" enough to make up my mind and spout accusations without using any significant facts.

What exactly is the motivation for Ireland to hire someone that will win less, yet he can control? How is that less beneficial for his career than just hiring the coach that will win the most?

Why would he question Ireland's player personnel decisions to begin with? Trading for Reggie Bush and signing Matt Moore this past season were both home runs that Jeff hit. Kevin Burnett, while he started slowly, rounded into a very strong inside linebacker for the team by the end of the year. Mike Pouncey is a Pro Bowl alternate at center, and Jeff has been a part of drafting 5 other Pro Bowlers since 2005. Charles Clay made an impact as a match up hybrid player at both FB and TE. Jimmy Wilson made an impact and flashed potential that could make him a starter at cornerback down the road.

It just came to me in a vision (Tebow was in it but thats for another theread): The GM wants a HC who has the same philosophy and vision for the team that he does. Not a yes man but someone who is going to work with him.

IMO, there's not a single ounce of real information that supports that theory in the least. Maybe....just maybe....Ireland thinks that McCoy is the better head coach?

No evidence!!!!! What about the fact that jw3102 is not going to spend another dime on this franchise after buying season tickets for 130 years in a row!!!!

There's your evidence!!!! What more evidence do you need than the ramblings of a 156 year season ticket holder!!!!

Any team who loses long term season ticket holders has a problem, however if jw is an isolated case then your point would be valid. But only then.

    You're right.

Its as if when that happens the franchise should make huge sweeping changes in the organization. Like moving power to the GM from some Football Czar. Firing the HC and finding a new one after a long and extensive interview process.

Now golly, if only this team would do those things....

    Correctly?

Apparently, irrational whiny fans think "correctly" is defined by grabbing a mediocre coach who wants more control than most franchises give all because at one point his old boss told him he had to take Vince Young instead of Matt Leinhart. They also think correctly is firing a GM who in his first and only free year to do his job brought in decent talent in positions of need through the draft and FA?

Puhleaze. You guys wouldn't know correctly if it ran you over.

    Suck it.

I don't care if people agree or disagree with me. I don't care if they hate every single move the franchise is making.

I'm just effing sick and tired of the rants that are like "We sucks. Ross hates the fans. Ireland is the devil.".

If you hate it all make your case, back it up with facts or reason or both. That's all.

Just cause Tebow doesn't complete any passes till the 4th quarter doesn't mean they didn't start throwing till the 4th quarter.

FTR I am not on that bandwagon. I like Ross/Irleand. But your post came off as high and mighty.

Also, FTR, according to twitter, a plane from denver just landed at holywood internation, Ross' private jet was diverted from Miami to Hollywood.

    Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmm

It's a testament to how jaded and out of touch some Dolphins "fans" are that they honestly believe that the front office is intentionally sabotaging their own team. However, no one can provide a legitimate reason for believing that.

We have known McCoy will be the coach since Monday

I appreciate you posting the link to our website. I have known McCoy will be the coach since Monday. I don't know many people who can say that. The first step in the Dolphins attempt to get Tebow just happened. Mr. Ross wants to sell tickets and Tebow will guarantee sellouts and #15 Tebow Jersey sales that will sell more than all other Dolphin players combined. He is worth $40,000,000 a year to the bottom line of the team.

    Thanks again for the post!!!!!!!

You haven't expressed an opinion. You've expressed whining.

Here's your chance now though, tell us why specifically Ross & Ireland suck and hate the dolphins and want all the fans to die, and why you wanted Fisher to be HC AND have control over personnel.

The tickets bring up a good point. After getting a personal letter promising to make a splash in the coaching search, that was sent to season ticket holders, and 3 losing seasons in a row, why now should I dump 3k into this team...again? For McCoy or Philbin ?

Take McCoy and Tebow too ty. I'm not sure how McCoy will be as a HC in the long run. As of now I have no idea how this guy is so much in demand. Very average hire today if true.

Unlike most other businesses, pro sports are not under the "customer is always right" banner.

The level of success of a given team is wins and loses. We haven't been successful, that is why people aren't buying. The FO is making drastic changes in an effort to achieve more wins.

I'm sure Pats fans saw the Billcheat hire after years of sucking and stopped buying tickets.

Problem is if your FO wants control that eliminates all top big name coaches they want full control. So as ticket holders it stinks but, surely should not be a surprise to expect a 2nd or 3rd tier hire.
