He is smartly scared to act without him.

How is it stupid to lean on someone who knows more than you on a subject.

Is it sad that you are scared to act without your lawyer?

wow. zomg. what are you even commenting on?

When did i ever say franchises are better served catering to fans? I never said that. You said it was smart of Ross to go after other coaches with Sparano in place as coach. Which could not be more wrong.

And you rebut with a falsehood. The minority of Head Coaches in this league answer to their GM, certainly not a significant majority.

but sheeeesh, whatevs you seyz brosef.

It depends. Is my Lawyer a Bill Polian or Jeff Ireland. If the pillar I lean on is weak, well...

And rightfully so. I called it, i forget where and when, but I said this was going to be one of the most "tumultuous" off-seasons ever.

And it is. people can argue that the sky is green, and they will. But as a whole, you gotta have serious nerve and balls to not see why people are pissed with this "think-tank."

if you're an optimist, great, fans are entitled to be that. But this ain't title town, and we have been bad for a long time, and are in a complete scramble of a cluster **** right now.

If you are right and the Jets are forced to play with Sanchez as their starting QB next year, the Jets will probably end up as an also ran next season. Unfortunately I just think that the Jets will do everything possible to upgrade their QB position before next season. There owner is willing to do what is necessary to bring a championship for the Jet fans. I am not yet convinced that Ross is willing to do the same thing for Dolphin fans.

If Manning somehow is able to come back next year and is cleared to play. I have no doubt the Jets will go after him, either through a trade or in free agency if the Colts decide to release him before they have to pay him the twenty six million dollars they will owe him if he is still on the roster in a few months. I doubt very seriously if Ross would outbid the Jets owner for Manning.

I am sorry but you are using a team that brought in Brett Farve as an example.

I hope not because even if Manning is cleared to play, he should not play.

Also there is nothing I have seen in Ross to even come close to say what you said is true. When Parcells was in charge, yes, however since then he seems willing to pay for players. I have little doubt if by some miracle Manning is able to play and becomes available that Ross would be outbit for his services.

And maybe just maybe, Ireland doesn't have a clue what makes a good NFL head coach.

You don't know that yet, just because Ireland wanted McCoy doesn't mean Ireland and Ross didn't come to terms with Philbin. Maybe Ireland met with Philbin and liked what he saw, we really don't know yet.

Thats true or maybe Ross told Ireland to take a back seat, or told him to hit the bricks.

Maybe, I can't really tell you. Either way I'm kind of glad this head coaching search is over and maybe Philbin brings Clements with him?

All I said was that," maybe" Ireland doesn't have a clue about what makes a good NFL head coach. So now that Ireland has helped select the future HC of the Dolphins, we shall see if he has a clue or not.
You have a lot of faith in Ireland and I don't. As a long time Dolphin fan, I certainly hope you are 100% right about the abilities of Ireland and I am 100% wrong.

I would love nothing better then for you and all the others who defend Ireland to be right about him and to be able to tell me after next season that I was completely wrong in wanting Ireland fired.
All I want is for the Dolphins to be the same type of successful franchise they were during the Shula years. My view is that Ireland is not the right GM to get the Dolphins back to this status. Your view is that Ireland is the right man for the job. I certainly feel that all the pro-Ireland supporters are entitled to their opinion.

Fortunately, there will be a season next year, so all the comments pro and con regarding Ireland will be resolved when we see how the Dolphins perform on the field next year. If they turn it around and make the playoffs, I will admit that I was wrong about Ireland and that the problem with the team was all Sparano. Of course if the Dolphins once again finish below 500 and out of the playoffs, perhaps some of the Ireland supporters will be ready to admit that the problem with the teams just might be the lack of talent provided to the coaching staff by Ireland.

I look forward to next season, and I hope I am the person on this forum who is admitting that I was completely wrong about Ireland.
