I dont think buying a prius means you have to turn in your man card. I'd go with the black or charcoal
When it comes to manliness is there really that big of a difference between a Corolla and a Prius? I drive a Corolla, and it isnt the manliness of vehicles.
How manly is it gonna be when we're all paying $4 a gallon on Labor day? BTW I'm leaning towards the charcoal grey. If I gotta buy this thing, I'll have to get Sirius, GPS, and the CD changer package at the very least!
That doesnt mean it makes sense to make fun of one over the other. Especially to such a large degree.
thats probably the worst way to prove anything... there are websites devoted to Pokemon being real.... 'nuff said... get a Prius, who gives a damn what people think... when you're saving hundreds a month you can buy other things to boost your manhood...
Guys....it's a joke. Ya know? And arsenal...look at the link I posted earlier to blow up that "saving money" theory. You aren't saving **** buying a Prius.
Don't encourage him. He should be made to feel horrible. This is a "plane has flown into the mountain" moment. This is pretty bad. They day a man is TOLD what to drive is a sad sad day.
I would set my entire block on fire if anybody even looked at my nitro sideways. In fact..excuse me while I go outside and make sure it is okay.
dude your link's logic is skewed though. It's based on driving 15k miles a year all on highway miles. I drive at least 24-26k a year, probably 2/3 of that highway mileage. The only way to accurately figure out how much you can save is to know how much money one would spend monthly with a Corolla versus how much one would spend monthly with a Prius. ETA: I know that it takes long time to offset the cost in upfront price of the 2 cars no matter what mileage is driven.
Alright, now if that is the argument for losing his man card I might be able to get on board with that.
I know it was skewed bro, I said that in the link. It was a ballpark figure. But let's be realistic. Do you really think that by incorporating non-highway miles into it, that it'll even come close to being worth it to buy the Prius? It's basic math man. Let's say that the Corolla and Yaris average 30 mpg with both highway and city and the Prius averages 40 mpg. And let's say you drove 30,000 miles a year. For the Corolla and Yaris, you'd spend $3,850 in gas a year. For the Prius you'd spend $2,887 Not even $1,000 less a year. You'd STILL have to drive the car almost 6 years to make up the difference in cost on the Corolla, and TEN years to make up the cost for the Yaris. No matter how you slice it bro, people are being duped into thinking that the Prius is saving them money when it's actually costing them more.
Thats part two of the issue bro. The extra you make in car-payments more than makes up for the amount you save in gas
no I totally get your logic, don't get me wrong. There are a couple of factors in why I'm thinking of getting the Prius over the Corolla. The Corolla doesn't fit me well if you know what I mean. I need a little more headroom and the Prius does have alot of headroom, which is why it's ugly and eggshaped.
Once again, its MUCH more than just the gas savings. Take a look at what a shop is gonna charge you to do any maintenence on the Hybrid portion of the car bro....
Firesole...seriously..think about what I said. The New Chevy Malibu does 30+ mpg...and just look at it:
I took the wife to Vegas for our anniversary a couple months back and we saw this. Do you believe she had the audacity to ask me to buy one of those? LMAO! On a sidenote I passed a woman driving one of these the other day on the Turnpike. I felt like I was driving an 18 wheeler compared to that tiny thing.
You'd be surprised actually bro. Can get quite a bit of car for under 25,000 . Doubt you're gonna touch a Prius for that
If I were rich..I would buy one to drive around my property and then tow it to the golf course to use.
Yes I have. It's about 50 cents more a gallon. But if you crunch the numbers, the choice is easy. I don't have the exact specs on the Prius, but I think with the old Diesel Jettas getting 600 miles on 13 gallons of fuel, you still end up saving money over the Prius. That and a used Jetta can probably be had for $5000 - $10000 depending on year and mileage. But if having a shiny new girly Prius is more important, then by all means, buy the Prius.
I was operating under the assumption that anything that runs on diesel fuel is manly. Except for this - But in all honesty, If gas costs are your #1 concern, the logical move is to buy an older model used car. A lot of older vehicles were engineered to get better gas mileage. Now I'm not talking about old muscle cars, but older economy cars of the past. I know people who drive old Geo Metros that get 50 miles per gallon. Yeah, they might look funny driving roller skate cars, but these are the people who truly get it. They understand a car is a depreciating asset and unless you're in NASCAR they are used to get you from point A to point B. They understand that financing a depreciating asset is foolish. They understand a car is not a status symbol. Having no car payment and a $25 dollar a month insurance payment along with a paid off mortgage with the money you saved on car payments is a status symbol. Rant over.
Dude I saw one of tyhose on the road and I was passing one in my 1994 Ford Taurus and I thought I could take it out but the sart car is acctully really safe I was surrprised. I cant believe she wanted you to buy one. What kid of car does your Wife drive? But yoou should look at the Honda Civic Hybird here is some infomation Honda Civic Infomation http://www.hybridcars.com/compacts-sedans/honda-civic-hybrid-overview.html http://automobiles.honda.com/civic-hybrid/ Smart Car crash test http://www.ctv.ca/servlet/ArticleNe...mart_car_080514/20080514?s_name=Autos&no_ads= My car
The wife drives a Mitsubishi Lancer. It gets decent gas mileage, but I can't get rid of that for a new car because it's paid off. I am going to look into that option though with the dealers, but I can't afford 2 car payments right now.
Prius = ultimate fail. did you not see Pagan's post. it actually is NOT cheaper to drive a Prius. Yeah, the gas bill will be less every week, but you pay more for the car, and down-the-road maintenance costs are more. Look into VW turbodiesels... they are cheaper, get the same gas mileage, and usually are nicer inside & have more amenities. not to mention they are a lot faster.
diesel jetta or golf is 100x more "manly" than a Prius dude. Prius is like the ultimate admission that you are of same-sex persuasion, or a chick.
