I'd rather have Marshall & Tannehill than RG3 all by his lonesome. No brainer IMO.

Dude, Brandon Marshall is the best player we have (barring Jake Long). Should we acquire a potential franchise QB in the draft, we need to surround him with as much weapons as possible. Trading away a proven receiver who plays at a high level is not going to do that QB any favors and could en up screwing him. Case in point: Sam Bradford.

Damn. Pro Bowl MVP trophy features a decapitated cheerleader? Impressive.

I wanna know how they kept her smiling through the process.
Granted she's blonde so the convincing wasn't difficult.

I am honestly really pumped about this.
This can only help in the Dolphins search for a QB. For some reason the media really seems to discount the offensive pieces that are in Miami, including Marshall. This is a nice reminder to prospective QBs (Manning, Flynn.)

I want to think Marshall brought his A-game deliberately for the sole purpose of getting a franchise QB to Miami to throw to him.

Of course..... We will be rolling with a WCO. Need to add another weapon to take the heat off Marshall.
Open him up and end the double coverage. If that doesn't happen he will struggle.

That's my thought, too...... and should be a priority IMO.
Bringing in elite talent isn't the end-all solution. IMO you have to take it a step further and prioritize maximizing his potential or else you're not truly getting what you paid for.

We grabbed Marshall, added Bush (big + for Brandon)...... and now it's time to upgrade #2 WR and add a stud TE who better compliments Brandon.

Its less about potential and more about salary cap maintenance. Theres a time and a place to trade picks. I dont mind doing it but I think you choose your spots for it like we did with Reggie Bush

Agreed, that would just be another Bradford situation

Glad for BM. My two non-Dolphins friends texted me with the same reaction... that it shows how much our team must suck for BM to be this great when he doesn;t have to play with us.

Marshall isn't going anywhere and those that think it aren't looking at the salary cap realities. Cutting Marshall would accelerate roughly $12 million in signing bonus. Considering this team is at $12 million under RIGHT now..it'd be idiotic.

Marshall said he changed his flight from Denver to Miami to meet coach Philben. Say what you want about his past but I think we will see a new Marshall next year, especially if we can get a good QB to throw for him.

Oh of course. A room service pass from Flynn will be so much easier to catch than a room service pass from Moore or Henne, in a game that actually means something more than putting together a nice offensive highlight video.

It sure was nice to see how good BM can be when playing in a meaningless game with absolutely no pressure to make clutch catches in crunch time.

Oh, the great Matt Flynn is licking his chops, after seeing how well BM can perform when playing in a meaningless exhibition game. Nice to see he can do well when there is no pressure to do so. I guess a perfectly placed pass from Rivers, Dalton or Roethlisberger is much easier to catch than a perfectly placed pass from Moore or Henne.

Coming to any conclusion about BM being just a great receiver hampered by poorly thrown passes from substandard QBs, is like deciding Matt Hasselbeck was the best QB in the league when he won the Quarterback Challenge one year. That event means about as much as the Pro Bowl.

Hint of what? That BM can be great when the pressure isn't on? Delightful. Now, he just needs to learn how to be great when the pressure is on.

I don't hate BM, certainly do not want to get rid of him since he is still the best we got. Just trying to keep things in their proper perspective.

I'm not gonna jack off over how well he did in a totally meaningless exhibition game, and try to spin it into just an example of what he could do if the Dolphins had a more expensive QB. More to me like what he can do when he does not feel he is under pressure to do so.

He still did something that no one has ever done in this "meaningless game" when he scored 4 TDs. Give the man his due. He might have played in a meaningless game but he's the best one to ever do it.

I give him his due. It's the same due as that owed to the guy who won the Home Run Derby before this past season's Baseball All Star Game.

Ricky also had a great performance during the Pro Bowl following the 2002 season. We saw how much that carried over to the 2003 season. He did have more of a legit excuse though, running behind a suck *** line in a one dimensional offense.

I agree with you, but he's got a point about the whole "mystery box" thing.
Humans are suckers for gambling; otherwise, Vegas & Atlantic City wouldn't exist, right. The NFL draft is no different IMO.

    Some fun draft pick/trade comparisons:

    Veteran WR
-Brandon Marshall, Miami: cost (2) 2nd rounders (for proven, elite WR).
-Santonio Holmes, Jets: cost 5th (for WR coming off 1200 yard season & SB MVP).
-Randy Moss, Pats: 4th rounder (for HOF WR; set single season TD record that year)
-Wes Welker, Pats: 2nd & 7th (for 4x All Pro).
    -Anquan Boldin + 5th, Ravens: 3rd & 4th (for 3x Pro Bowler).
    Rookie WR
    -Julio Jones, Atlanta: (2) 1sts & 3rd.
    -Demaryius Thomas, Broncos: 1st & 4th.
-Jon Baldwin, Chiefs: 1st & 3rd for an unproven WR.

    Veteran RB
-Willis McGahee, Ravens. (2) 3rds (for 2x PB).
-Reggie Bush, Miami: Swapped 6ths (for past #2 pick and the NFL's top receiving back).
-Marshawn Lynch, Seattle: 4th (for 2x PB).
    Rookie RB
    -Mark Ingram, Saints: 1st & 2nd.
-Ryan Mathews, Chargers: 1st, 2nd, and Tim Dobbins.
    -Toby Gerhart, Vikings: 2nd & 3rd.

    Veteran TE
    -Winslow Jr, Bucs: 2nd & 5th.
-Tony Gonzalez, Falcons: 2nd (for HOF TE).
    Rookie TE
    -John Carlson, Seattle: 2nd & 3rd.

    Veteran DE
-Jared Allen, Vikings: 1st & (2) 3rds (for HOF DE).
-Richard Seymour, Oakland: 1st (for 7x Pro Bowler).
-John Abraham (+ 3rd rounder), Falcons: 1st (for elite pass rusher, 4x PB).
    Rookie DE
    -Derrick Harvey, Jags: 1st, (2) 3rds, 4th.
    -Brandon Graham, Eagles: 1st & (2) 3rds.
-Jarvis Moss, Broncos: 1st, 3rd, 5th. (3rd & 5th to move up just 4 spots. Apparently there was no other 1st round talent to pick from :shifty:)
-Everette Brown, Panthers: 1st (#17) & 4th (used to get Brown in 2nd round, #43).

    Veteran OT
-Jason Peters, Eagles: 1st, 4th, and 6th (for 5x straight PB).
    Rookie OT
    -Jeff Otah, Panthers: 1st, 2nd, and 4th.
    -Tony Ugoh, Colts: 1st & 4th (to get in 2nd round, #42)

    Veteran LB
-Jonathan Vilma, Saints: 3rd (for 3x PB & ROY).
    Rookie LB
    -Paul Posluszny, Bills: 2nd & 3rd.
    -Daryl Washington, Cards: 2nd & 3rd.

    Veteran DT
    -Jason Ferguson, Miami: Exchanged 6ths.
    -Kris Jenkins, Jets: 3rd.
    -Marcus Stroud, Bills: 3rd & 5th (for 3x PB).
    Rookie DT
    -Ron Brace, NE: 2nd (#40 overall), 4th, 6th.

    Veteran CB
-Antonio Cromartie, Jets: 3rd (for 1x All Pro)
    Rookie CB
-Alphonso Smith, Broncos: 1st (#14 overall)... (used to get Smith in 2nd round, #38).

    Veteran Safety
-Kerry Rhodes, Cardinals: 4th for (1x All Pro; Cards 2010 MVP)
    Rookie Safety
    -Eric Weddle, Chargers: 2nd, (2) 3rds, & 5th.

(The recent exception seems to be "franchise QB"..... like Jay Cutler)
