**UPDATE** The Vikings won, so the draft order in this thread is 100% correct

Here is a preliminary Post Week 15 Draft Order for the 2008 NFL Draft. Obviously there is still one game left in Week 15, the Vikings and Bears play tonight. For this preliminary order, I have given the favorite, in this case the Vikings, the win. If the Vikings do in fact win tonight, then this order you are looking at is 100% correct. If the Bears pull off the upset, then I will have to make some slight changes tomorrow.

Enjoy, and feel free to ask questions if you want.

in this scenario the Rams would be the trade target for any team that wants McFadden, while the jets would be trying to smokescreen their interest in McFadden

    that is my uneducated guess

Not necessarily. If a team REALLY wants McFadden, they may not risk letting the Dolphins pick first. Sure a team could plan to trade up with the Rams, but who is to say Miami wouldn't pick him? Who knows, it could even be an Manning/Rivers type deal. Miami takes McFadden, somebody else a few picks later takes Dorsey, and they strike a deal to swap.

All I know is that with having the #1 overall pick(which is not guaranteed), the next few months are going to be a lot of fun.

its a big poker game I guess, but our willingness to deal would tell teams that we are not serious about McFadden. so I think it leaves us unable to trade down. it will be intersting to see how this shakes out

we need a team that definitely needs a RB to be picking second

unless that happens, our odds of trading down are less than 10%

of course it is way too early to tell who will be the most beloved prospect

The Vikings won, so the order I posted last night is 100% correct. Luckly, I guessed right on the winner last night.

Personally, its not the 1st pick of the 1st round that I am most interested in, but the 1st pick in every round is very exciting from a building standpoint.

Nublar, how do you account for the Compensatory Picks in your projection?

I am pretty sure, they dont apply until the end of the 3rd round anyway. So the first two rounds arent effected by them.

Here's hoping the teams ahead of the 49ers/Patriots pick continue to lose because I don't think SF is going to beat TB at home .. or Cleveland on the road?

Question, does the SOS % include opposing teams that haven't played each other yet? I mean, are the next two week of opponents included in the SOS calc? Would be a little easier to project the order if they were included already (even though things can change a little bit)...

You are correct. Compensatory picks do not occur until the 3rd round. There are 32 compensatory picks, and you can not be 100% sure the round they will occur in until they are released. Here are Miami's picks in every round if the draft happend today and no compensatory picks were given out. I have also figured on the two supplemental selections into this:

    1st round (1)
    2nd round (32)
    2nd round (57) - From San Diego
    3rd round (64)
    4th round (96)
    6th round (158)
    7th round (190)

Yes, I have included all 16 opponents for each team. That means the Patriots and Bengals are already in the forumla for the Dolphins. What hurts our SOS is that the Patriots alone count for 28 wins and 0 losses.
