I think that's what all these "if healthy" posts ignore. That won't happen. At best, you're putting down a ton of money on the hope that he may eventually be healthy. And the idea that he won't take the money is laughable. He was just paid $26 million for this year on a contract he signed after he was injured. I'm not saying he was dishonest. I'm sure he honestly believed he would get healthy eventually. I'm sure he wants to play and on given days will be 100% sure he he can, but the reality of that injury is he won't know and odds are heavily on the side that he won't ever be more than a shadow of what he once was.

How can we be ignoring his health when we say, "If he's healthy..."?

"If he's healthy" doesn't mean he may or may not be healthy.

There is actually a poster here that thinks Peyton Manning would take an incentive laden contract to come play for Joe Philbin and the Miami Dolphins.
Fell out of my chair when I read that one.

It's hard to imagine a healthy Peyton Manning available for hire on the FA market. If he's healthy he's staying in Indianapolis.

But let's assume he does come to Miami and he's healthy. If that is the case, Miami is a Super Bowl Contender. Miami has plent of problems, but they're more talented than that Colts team that went to the Super Bowl and lost to the Saints.

I will say that Peyton Manning is excellent and one of the smartest QB's in the league, but it'll be difficult for him to leave an offense he's been in his entire life to come to Miami--new system, new receivers, new coaches, etc. he's not going to come in and be that QB from the Colts, even if he's healthy.

Why, if Peyton hits the OPEN MARKET, would one even THINK he would have to consider taking the incentive laden contract, when there will be multiple teams trying to OUTBID each other for his services. He would LAUGH at that as soon as it hit the desk.

We are in no position of strength when it comes to signing FA. THEY DONT WANT TO COME HERE, unless THEY ARE PAID
    .
Thinking we are so much better than Indy, is also a joke. We went ZERO AND SEVEN. WE were HOPING for the first OVERALL PICK. SUK FOR LUCK.

It never ceases to amaze me how even the rose colored glassed need cleaning.

If I could get a big fat guarentee Manning was 100% then ok

But as it is, signing flynn and drafting a qb is my wish

BECAUSE OF THE C A P. If you were in the Club, there are some very informative discussions going on about our CAP SITUATION. We dont have the room. Especially considering the other teams that will be interested. I guess its fun for some to want EVERY FA that come available, but I dont buy it. We need to build thru the draft. Build with YOUTH. Build in a way we will be on top for a long while. Not a flash in the pan, or an attempted flash in the pan.

We can agree to disagree, but if we DO get Manning..........it will set us back farther than it will do us good.

He won't help much now that we have been informed he has a noodle arm.
If he is healthy he won't be in Miami.

    No.

Number 1, please show me where I said sign every big free agent.
Number 2, your cap room argument is bogus for 2 reasons:
    A. You don't really know what Manning would sign for (not too mention the whole "i don't need guaranteed money thing")
    B. Cap Hell is a myth. Ok maybe not a myth, but certainly closer to a molehill than a mountain.

Then he can choose his fate.
If not healthy Miami will probably be the only team desperate enough to bite.
    It's what we do.

1....I didnt say YOU, or ONE, I said SOME people. There is someone on here that wants to sign every stinkin FA that comes available.
2....Cap problems are a reality. Just because YOU dont want to admit it, doesnt make it go away. We have a limited amount of cap space open. We would have to CUT multiple players to get Manning to fit here. Then you just create more holes, which cost MORE money that we dont have because we gave to much money to an old guy who is HURT and will probably never play again. The right side of our OL suks. How are you going to fill THOSE spots when you spend all the cap room on the old guy?
I know you said a healthy Manning. In my opinion, from what I hear now, its a pointless debate. He will probably never play again. Anyway.........

    Denial doesnt make it disappear.

You can have to last word. I am done with this..............for now.
