    clearly Luck is #1
RGIII has risen up the draft boards to top 5 likely goes to cleveland

Tannehill and Weeden appear to be the next 2 QBs but where are they assumed to go?

Here Shannahan may prefer QB like Tannehill.

So do we need to pick Weeden at 8/9 or can we wait?
Who else would go for him later (Seattle?)

I dont know how true this is but I saw a member of the Seattle media say that the team doesn't even have remote interest in Matt Flynn.

If that is true then they have to be considered threats to take Weeden at some point. Weeden reminds a lot of people of Carson Palmer so it's not a stretch of the imagination for Carroll to fall in love with him.

If Seattle has no interest in Flynn that would concern me a bit, as John Schneider was Thompson's lieutenant when Flynn was drafted.

If he doesn't believe Flynn has it in him to be a franchise type guy, I would be leery.

Maybe Seatle is just weary of signing another backup considering what transpired with Whitehurst.

I don't know if I agree that it would be a red flag for Flynn. The personnel guys have a different outlook on it. They grabbed Flynn where they grabbed him because they thought he was a decent late round roll of the dice. They also grabbed Brian Brohm significantly before him, and Brohm has busted out while Flynn remains. There's likely to be some mixed feelings about that.

It's the COACHES that have the best perspective on how Flynn has developed and what kind of player he is. If Joe Philbin doesn't want Flynn, that's the big red flag.

Weeden may be older but I fully beleive he can improve and be similar to Don Strock and Bob Griese Brandon has a strong arm and if you havent seen him he has a fast release which none of our current qbs have.

I think Philbin's info on Flynn would trump what anyone else has other then Green Bay folks

I'd rather sit through another year of Matt Moore then spend a first round pick on a 29 year old QB.

Weeden should be there in 2nd maybe even 3rd proving great value! More than flynn who isn't much younger

how more then flynn? if we compare them even at the same exact level of skill and readiness...

Flynn=No draft picks, No trades..just cap
Weeden=2nd, 3rd rounder, No trades...Cap(not as much as flynn)

id take flynn in that scenario..
yes yes if he turns out to be what philbin wants.. if he doesnt want him, this is null/void

I would think the diff is about 30 mil given rookie salary cap, what kolb got and Weedens draft placement. Given that I like weeden! Plus we could spend that money on S, olb, de etc in fa

You do realize that cap is money that would otherwise get spent on another player?

    So it's actually:

Flynn - no picks, no trades, $9MM?
Weeden - 2nd round pick, no trades, bonus of a top $7MM / year FA (or retain one of our top FA's)

yes but would you rather have a QB who our Head coach groomed, stuck his kneck out for by signing with the hopefull promise that he does great? or a 2nd round pick in weeden who has not been in our system, has not played even one snap in the nfl?
i played baseball all my life, through college, and was drafted... i know people say " 29 doesnt mean anything, he doesn't have the miles on the odometer to play that as a factor.." thats bullsh*t because your arm gets destroyed from baseball.. i expect weeden to come in to the nfl, play well, then have arm surgery in 2-3 years..

Yes I would rather have the QB that our head coach groomed and stuck his neck out for. Problem is right now we don;t know that's the case with Flynn. IF Philbin thinks Flynn is a franchise QB then I'm all for it. None of us know that at this point.

you are 100% correct.. i was just going off of the hypothetical situation that we in fact are sold on matt flynn as an organization and make strides to get in via FA
