I gotta agree with you here, Schmoo...they haven't treated Manning poorly. They may not have made a decision on what exactly they are going to do, and I really believe that Irsay, for all his pomp and BS, is really torn about what to do with Manning, but they have mostly tried to keep this civil... I mean GB was tougher on Favre than this situation....

In the end, it's a business and Irsay has to decide what he thinks is best for his. The implications are, so far, that they've cleared the house of all the old and are bringing in the new, including Manning, but there is nothing official yet on that... The only thing I could see where they've kind of stuck it to Manning is in clearing the house around him before he's swept out, but then can you really blame Irsay for being wishy-washy on whether to cut Manning or not ?? I know I'd have a tough decision there...

There is one thing that Irsay has made blunders on and continues to...he needs to listen to Herm Edwards and "Don't push send"...other than a few mistimed tweets, he's not really done anything wrong...

if he is willing to take less money, the question of course being how much less, then you can significantly lower your risk. That is a "fact".

Dan gilbert is in his own stratosphere. I mean, he put a curse on LBJ.

Also, hilarious that Irsay is blocking you. Stugotz has to be getting blocked soon as he is spamming Irsay everytime he tweets with a Peyton to Miami zing.

I'm also blocked by Bill Simmons. The funny thing is I have never followed either of them. Only found out when I tried to retweet Simmons and just now when I tried to link Irsay. You'd think these people have better things to do than to block every single person who makes a joke about them. It's not like I wished cancer on them or anything.

The risk/cost is going to correlate with the chance of success.

yes, as does, age, experience, etc. All that should be weighed against each candidate. In which case i'm willing if manning takes a big enough pay cut, guaranteed money not being taken is a good sign, can be bad as well,I'm willing to bet the risks aren't significantly different then some tend to think.

If the Dolphins do go all in for Manning and take the chance on him, doesn't that say something about Matt Flynn when his former OC would rather take a chance on Manning than Flynn. Isn't that a bit of a warning sign to people?

Members of the media are surprisingly getting in on Manning to Miami. @ESPN_Colin Peyton Manning goes to Miami--America wins---Manning v Brady 2x a year. Manning v colts potentially. Can we all pitch in to insure it happens

    Now I'm assuming a Dolphins fan/fans made a website for it: http://manningtomiami.com/

    Hope they aren't jinxing us.

Ross is the one head over heels in love with Manning. It's his debacle not Philbin's.

No. One is Peyton Manning, while the other is Matt Flynn.

Does AZ have the balls to give up on Kolb so quickly? They should, but that's still an expensive mistake.

It's not really a debacle without watching him play. They could both end up being debacles, only one might, or they could both end up being great for whatever teams they go to.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YejJ83QLsqs -This explanation of his injury and his willingness to play if he chooses not to Retire when he doesn't need any money or rings, is reason enough for me to not count Peyton out before he steps foot onto a field.

I'll support Manning or Flynn or RG3...whichever they choose. It's not like we have an elite QB on the roster anyway, so we have no choice.

That's why I don't think it makes sense for them. They bought extremely high, and would have to sell extremely low.

I just read on the bottom of the ESPN screen that irsay wants to keep manning and it will basically be up to manning

Read it closer. He's just posturing as to not look like the dick in the breakup.

  20. I think that boat sailed long ago

Irsay looks like a mini-me version of his old man.

I really hope Luck is a bust and Manning returns(just not for the Colts) and plays another 5 years at a HOF level.

I think in the end that Manning stays in Indy.

    Why would he?

I really can't see a logical reason that staying there would benefit him in any way. Unless he's a lot less confident in his injury healing and just looking for a payday, which I can't see.

I can't envision any scenario where both Andrew Luck and Peyton Manning works in Indianapolis. But I could be wrong. How do you see that scenario playing out where Manning stays with the Colts?

Because he built his legacy there and has publicly stated that he wants to finish his career there. Sometimes it takes a lot to break those kinds of ties.

In the end, opinion on Manning seems to be absolutely everywhere from Retirement, to staying with Indy, to landing with any number of teams. Any kind of "front runner" or other opinions really seem to be lacking in anything but pure opinion. We will have to wait and see.

I can only see that happening if Irsay wants to make one last run at a Super Bowl with Peyton. That means trading away that #1 pick for a ton of picks both this and next year (and maybe a player or two). That would rebuild the Colts immediately.

Other than that, I think it's clear that Indy is going for full-blown rebuild mode and that means no real future there for Peyton. Sure he could stay to play on a bad team for a couple more years, but without a realistic shot at a Super Bowl.

So apparently there was a fourth procedure on Peyton's neck that was being kept on the down low and there will more than likely be a fifth.
Doesn't sound good to me at all..
