I don't know why we can't look at the Henne stuff realistically.

His lack of success is his fault and the coaching staff's.

    Move on.

I am talking about this in uniform this year. Jake Long was clearly hurt early in the season. A "healthy" Jake Long is absolutely better than Henne, but he wasn't the first 3 weeks of the season. Long had little lateral movement.

Dansby came into the season out-of-shape. If memory serves me correctly (and it doesn't always ) when the lockout was over Dansby came into camp 20 lbs overweight. Perhaps thought the lockout was time to kick back, be fat and happy.

Marshall between the 20's was solid this year. But in the end zone Marshall was a DISASTER! 5-6 dropped TD passes, couldn't get separation, and was stopped dead in his tracks getting jammed at the line of scrimmage when his number was being called on slant passes.

I am referring to the "actual play" on the field in the first 3 games of this season. Not arguing who is the better player at their position overall.

 Trying to understand your point that spending millions of dollars on the OL equated to the OL providing solid protection for the passing game early on this year. Do you think that opposing defenses decided not to rush the QB when they saw the salaries of our OL? What was your point exactly? Did you actually think the OL played well early on this year when Long was hurt, Pouncey starting as a rookie following a lockout, Carey being kicked inside and Columbo? The OL was borderline pathetic early on and yet Henne had a 7.8 ypa and 7.5 ypr.

I remember fans on the Moore bandwagon citing how the offense really took off under Moore b/c Miami had a 7.4 ypa at the time as proof that Moore was a superior QB. Of course, when it was pointed out that Moore had a 7.2 ypa and Henne had a 7.8 ypa to bring the ypa to 7.4 it became a mute point.

As for Marshall, how is spending two 2nd and $40 million nullify that he dropped 3-4 TD passes the first 3 games and got jammed on plays knocking him off the route on timing plays designed for him in the end zone? It doesn't.

My statement "he didn't stand a chance" has to do with two years under Henning in which he was handcuffed. And this year when a "new system" was installed during a lockout. Every expert out there knew that teams that would suffer this year would be teams that were changing coaches and coordinators b/c of the lockout. Why would it be a surprise "the team" didn't play well given a new system, 3 new starters at different positions on the OL, the LT being injured (didn't play a single snap in preseason) and the $40 million WR that couldn't hang on to the ball in the end zone.

Things certainly didn't turn around right away when Moore came in to play. In fact, the offense got better when Daboll stopped calling for every play to be thrown to Marshall in the end zone and starting calling plays like play-action to the TE and rolling out and throwing against the grain. Marshall is a great player, but he is not up to the task of being "the man." It wasn't until the mid point of the season that "the team" started to play well.

It's good to see Chad Henne getting one last 80+ post hurrah, given the controversy, warnings and even bannings he inspired a year ago.

He should get together with John Beck and do some shots.

You can interpret my loyalty or opinions however you would like Aqua. I really don't have a problem with it.
As you and I know players are all treated separately in evaluations. No one player is alike although similarities exist.
The way I valued Chad Henne is different than the way I would judge other players and vice versa.
Ask any coach the situations are always different.
I gave the guy the benefit of the doubt and hoped he would improve which he did under new coaching before the injury.
You commented on that yourself in the preseason last year.
If i criticize other players it has nothing to do with my feelings of another.
I bring up my loyalty to the young QB and everyone throws darts at me over my opinions of other players.
Some are morphing how my opinions reflect my posting it shouldn't be that way.
I've manned up and admitted Henne didn't cut it here and I'm ready to move on.

Oh don't worry. He'll generate more 20 page threads long after he's gone. Even Beck threads to this very day can go 3 - 5 pages easy.

Time to move onto bigger and better QB discussions. Next up: Matt Moore. Featuring statistical comparisons to Aaron Rodgers, Drew Brees, Tom Brady, Eli Manning etc.

Yeah it sometimes does seem that way and I'm very opinionated and passionate when it comes to the Dolphins.
What I want to do is come off less condescending in the future to other members. I'm sure the passion will remain but some of the comments I've posted lately have to thought out in a more understandable manner.
I'm doing my best now to come to terms with all of us wanting the same goal and that we are all Dolphin fans here.
I want the same as everyone else and that is a QB for the future and a championship.
After watching that Brandon Marshall vid I've felt maybe I haven't moved on and keep blaming for old mistakes.
Another downfall of mine as a poster and a fan I need to overcome.
    Thanks for the honesty bro.

Nah Ozzy I can be an *** I know and probably will be again down the pike in someones eyes.
Ready to get back to taking the high road.

And getting our next QB in place. Moore throws a sweet deep ball.
Not sold totally think we need another young QB in the draft to groom. Don't sell the farm for him please.

You forgot the 10 page "I told you so" thread when he throws a game ending pick 6 in the 4th quarter.

I was very excited when he was drafted after watching him a lot at UM. It was clear to me fairly early that he wasn't the answer. I wanted him to succeed every weekend as much as anyone, but it wasn't happening.
