http://www.nfl.com/news/story/09000...er-to-add-qb-henne?module=HP11_headline_stack Actually i think it could be a good fit for him.
It would be an improvement over what they have but the only one who would consider them Super Bowl contenders is their loud mouth Head Coach...
I'd think we would. perhaps a 4th, maybe 3rd considering he was our opening day starter. ??? And if we lose Solaia & Langford, too..... we could have a few nice extra picks.
If I am not mistaken, I think the new CBA agreement makes it illegal for a team to franchise tag a player, and then trade them. So that would not be a possibility
lol tag and trade. like any team would go for that for henne. lol miami would end up tagging him and having to pay him huge money to sit the bench
I just don't see Sparano wanting anything more to do with Henne. I have to imagine that Sparano sees Henne as one of the main reason he was fired as the HC of the Dolphins and why he would want to talk the Jets into signing him makes no sense at all. I have felt all along that the Jets will end up being a player in the Manning sweepstakes, if he is healthy. I also think that Kyle Orton is better than Henne and he would be a much better options as the backup and possible competition for Sanchez as the starter, if Sanchez falters again next season.
We should, assuming we lose more FAs than we gain. The formula has never been revealed, but how high of a pick seems to depend on the size of his new contract, how much he plays and post season honors (all with his new team). Apparently the size of the contract is the primary factor, so we should all hope that Henne gets paid.
If....if, if, if, if...if a frog had wings it woudn't bump its *** when it hopped. That being said... If Henne does get traded to the Jets...and IF the Jets win with him at quarterback...and Sparano as OC...and they go to the playoffs...there's going to be ALOT of Dolphins fans scratching heads asking, "WTF, OVER???????" Do I think that would happen? No....but then again...this is the NFL. Stranger things have happened.
If I'm Henne I'd want absolutely no part of that mess. Does Henne strike any of you as the kind of guy that can handle the media in New York? Also I find it hard to believe Sparano wants to bring the guy the helped get him fired.
Just for your information, Henne is a free agent and therefore he isn't going to be traded to anyone. He is free to sign with any team that has an interest in him. I can see the Jets making the playoffs next year with Sparano as the teams OC. What I can't see, is Henne being a member of the Jets with Sparano as the teams OC.
Thanks for the "ignorant" reply "bro" and you're wrong. Henne's failure to solidify the QB position in Miami absolutely got Sparano fired just as Manning's injury got Caldwell fired. QB's make or break coaches. That's a fact "bro".
1. I doubt Henne would do much better then Sanchez JMO 2. Sporano is in charge of the running game not the passing side of things so I doubt if Henne did go to the jets that his performance would reflect on Sporano much either way. 3. Henne is a good #2 QB who is looking for a chance to prove that he can be a good #1. He is looking for a 2nd chance somewhere so he is going to take the offer from a team who has a weak starter QB where he thinks he may be given the opprotunity to start at some point. The Jets if they make him an offer fit that bill. I think the Jets would be a top consideration for him. I think Denver is also high on his list because of Tebows instability. IMO those are the types of situtations he will look for.
You can put me in the camp that also don't see it happening. Whether it's the Sparano connection, or the mere fact that he's not much of an upgrade to what they already have, I just don't see it. That said, if it did happen, it would sure as hell make our games against them a lot more fun to watch IMO.
I called your statement ignorant, not you. It's a word in the English language for a reason "bro". So you're saying Caldwell's 1-15 record had nothing to do with his firing? It would appear that Manning temporarily masked his ability as a coach. Maybe you should say: "Great QBs allow mediocre coaches to retain their job longer". Just a little FYI: 1. Other coaches around the league (and throughout history) have gotten their respective team to the playoffs with equal or less talent at QB and with an equally talented team around the QB. 2. Sparano underperformed with the hand he was dealt. That's what got him fired. And it's not like he was dealt a crappy hand of low cards of different suits. The guy was given a low 3 of a kind at least. That might not be elite, but it's definitely good enough to win better than 50% of the time..... especially when you lose very few of your players while bringing in talents like Marshall, Dansby, Bush, and Wake. 3. If what you say is "true" which it's not, why does Ireland still have a job since he's the one who pined for Henne the most? 4. What's your excuse for Rex Ryan still having a job and reaching the AFC Champ game 2 consecutive years with the guy Henne might be replacing? 5. Was John Harbaugh canned after his Ravens went 12-4 despite worse QB play than Miami, a less talented offense, and a roughly equal to inferior defense than Miami during the final 10 games? 6. Was his brother shown the door after his Niners went 13-3 with a QB most felt was a bust prior to 2011? If the coach is good enough he'll be retained..... unless he's scapegoated as the patsy. There's no excuse for a team as talented as Miami to go 6-10. And I take it you're forgetting Matt Moore finished as the NFL's 12th rated passer? I think you're also forgetting our assistant stepped in and went 2-1, against our division rivals no less, and almost beat NE, meanwhile Tony's team routinely underperformed and played terrible 4th qtr TEAM football costing us numerous victories. PS: If you want to lay any partial blame on Sparano's firing, throw it on Parcells & Henning. They're the ones who handcuffed Tony the most.
I'd be fine with that. All the more reason to trade up for RG3---- to save $40.0M at QB to help pay for Mario.
no improvement here if they are looking to compete for the start. I've long held he was a journeyman, second banana in the NFL. Jets simply can't be this stupid & if they are... good for us. iwishhimwell&faraway
watch him kick our butts and then you will see why I defended him so much. we couldn't develop a QB to save Ross' life. we will regret this move, book it.
Henne showed significant improvement this year in play and leadership. I would not be surprised at all if he becomes a Jet and has success. Although, it is hard for me to imagine that Sparano will be a successful OC.
i dont wanna see it. i wanna see him go somewhere and do well. the only advantage him going to jets for me would be to laugh at other dolphin fans who said hes garbage and love matt moore/fiedler.
Henne can't even understand that six rushers is more than five blockers. I'm not scared, he has physical tools but his brain is devoid of anything related to the QB position.
He got himself fired with poor decisions. One of those decisions was Henne. Whether or not it was his decision in the end, he certainly took the heat for it. I was never happy to see someone get hurt as I was when Henne went down. My first thought was "God I hope he never takes another snap for the Dolphins, at least if we lose with a backup its not as embarassing"
the jets are an excellent fit for miami, we play them twice a year. what a joke, thank God that chapter is finally over with...
