Well one positive is that if we do sign Manning, we already have one of the better backups already on our roster in Matt Moore. It could be a lot worse than that to be honest with you. Just imagine someone like Ray Lucas sitting on the bench as our primary backup, or maybe Cleo Lemon.

He has not proven he can play. He has proven he had one spectacular game, that does not mean he will have a successful career.

Yea, I disagree with this. I saw long term potential in that game.

I didn't say that. I simply stated that he's shown he can be successful. He's actually played and had success, in that game and in the New England game.

Really? Then if we are going on that, Matt Moore has proven he can play too. See A.J. Feeley and Ray Lucas

Which is fine. I'm not knocking you or saying I'm right. In the end neither of us gets to make the decision, if we were to sign him of course I'd be 1000% behind him. He just isn't my first option. Just like I'd really rather not draft Tannenhill because I see a flat out bust, but if we do you can bet I'll be pulling for his success hard.

If the heat close the deal on Peyton...i promise to be nicer :)

    4) Jake Long protecting his blindside. That can be 5,6,7, and 8 as well.
    5) We had the 6th ranked scoring D i believe. Manning doesnt have to bring an offense that scores 36PPG

Two words...Rex Ryan. Peyton doesnt like him. He doesnt like the circus environment he brings and Im pretty sure he doesnt like him individually based on some of the comments hes made in the past regarding the jets

The problem with that is the Packers arent like every other NFL franchise. My first preference is Manning but theres a lineage there from Makowjski-Favre-Brunell (backup)-Hasselbeck (backup)-Aaron Brooks (backup)-Rodgers-Flynn

He lit up NE in 2010 also. Hes started 2 games and played great in both. He came in in relief of Rodgers last year in the game Rodgers had a concussion and laid an egg.

I mean, you are the one who brought up the examples. I only countered with my own. You can name many examples of QBs who left team's and had success or failed else where. You have to decide on the one who you think will be a good option and get him. I believe Flynn will. I stated my reasons why.

I see the best option as signing a healthy HOF QB and drafting Tannehill even if they have to move up in front of the Redskins to get him. Tannehill is a much better prospect than Flynn IMO.

They are not going to draft Tannehill or any QB with any draft picks this year if they sign Manning and think he is starting game 1. Next year, year after, this year it is a pass rusher or Blackman.

I'm glad I was working and unable to get caught up in all this ridiculousness. Manning is going to take his time making this decision, I give it two weeks from today.

Watch the games. His receivers were the worst I've ever seen. I think CK documented over 60 drops. If Tannehill had himself to throw to his stat line would have easily been inline with the consensus front runners.

I did watch the games and what I saw was a guy with inconsistent mechanics who threw high. And you obviously didn't have the pleasure of watching Niles Paul and Brandon Kinnie set back the position of WR by 30 years with their drops.....

Bingo. This whole thing reeks of Calvin Pace, Ryan Clark, Ahmad Bradshaw, etc. I'd expect Peyton would visit with several more teams, and you know Miami's at the very least leverage for Manning to up his salary, incentive-based contract be damned.

And what do you expect him to say? That he lost velocity on his throws and is a risk?
